Donald Trump ends his Manufacturing Council after just about everybody and their brother abandons it.

Trump wants everybody to think that it was his decision to do away with this council, but simply put there were not enough people left to play a game of poker much less make up an actual council.

It's like that time I called off the late night basketball game because I was the only one who showed up, and I forgot my ball at home.

Perhaps next Trump will close the White House because people there do want to work with him anymore either.

I don't know when we are all supposed to be tired of all of this winning, but I am feeling very energetic.

OT?" Is Trump displaying a “second childishness” as he enters the last stage of his life? A childishness where the convictions of his earlier life, and childhood, are strongly reinforced and emerge without censorship? My guess is that this is a factor along with everything else in giving us a president, who as the events of the last days have demonstrated, is completely unfit for office."

He wants to quit. This will stave off the feeling for a little while. Obviously he does not care nor does he probably even remember there was a council. Some aide pushed this so he could have that glorious feeling of wrecking without any immediate consequences.

I am proud of the White Americans that are fighting for the good of all Americans. Thank you for walking with us that have brown skins, who are Gay, Trans, and whoever else Trump and the Republicans have deemed unworthy of their Utopia.

  6. According to Ari Melber on MSNBC (and likely earlier people) the members of the Strategy & Policy Forum had already conferred and decided to disband somewhat before Trump's tweet.

He'll always make it look like it was his idea, Ted, and a "very, very, very" good one at that.

I was surprised to learn that Kevin Plank, Under Armour CEO, was on that council and chose to resign. I saw a segment featuring him on CBS This Morning and he treats his employees well, pays them well, seems like a decent guy. He probably had his fill and then some.

    2. They're different than the Manufacturing Council. It was the Manufacturing Council that was losing people right and left. Strategy and Policy already lost Uber, Tesla and Disney after the Paris accord debacle.

Trump doesn't like dissenters. Just another example of how all he wants are yes men and those that agree with him.

And of course, Trump took credit for disbanding them. More damage control.

" “He’s clueless on what to do, he doesn’t want to admit he’s clueless on what to do, he brings in advisers, and when they don’t agree, he fires, criticizes or both,” Bernstein said. “That is making the entire business world nervous, even though, at first glance, the Trump administration would seem to be business friendly.” "

I'm glad that business leaders and other Republicans are denouncing Trump's words but where the hell are all the evangelical leaders speaking out? I haven't heard a peep from them. Could racism and bigotry be a core tenet of Christianity? It certainly makes one wonder...

For all intents and purposes, Trumps presidency is like a motorcyclist who goes 150 mph and hits a guardrail head first. Brain dead and on life support awaiting organ donation removal. He can die with Bannon, Miller and Gorka by his side or not. His choice now.

I think you mean "people there DON'T want to work with him any more."

While this seems like a good sign, I am appalled some of these CEOs stayed as long as they did. I am particularly upset that the AFL-CIO stayed as long as they did, being the FOURTH to resign. Did he really think that staying would mean Trump and the Republicans would cease their attacks on unions?

Former CIA director John Brennan wrote a heartwarming note to CNN’s Wolf Blitzer where he apologized for the “pain inflicted” by President Donald Trump’s infamous press conference.

The anchor of “The Situation Room” on CNN, Blitzer explained on-air that all four of his grandparents had been murdered by Nazis during the Holocaust.

Brennan saw the exchange and wrote a personal note on the, “unspeakable evil of Nazism,” which CNN has shared.

“I just want to extend my sympathies not only for their deaths but also to you and your family–and countless others–for the pain inflicted today by the despicable words of Donald Trump. Mr. Trump’s words, and the beliefs they reflect, are a national disgrace, and all Americans of conscience need to repudiate his ugly and dangerous comments,” Brennan wrote.

“If allowed to continue along this senseless path, Mr. Trump will do lasting harm to American society and to our standing in the world,” Brennan predicted. “By his words and his actions, Mr. Trump is putting our national security and our collective futures at grave risk.”

...“Today, former presidents George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush issued a statement condemning racial bigotry, anti-Semitism and hatred,” Tapper said. “They were joined by the chiefs of staff of the Army, the Navy, the Marine Corps, the Air Force and the National Guard.”

Though none of them referred specifically to the president, “they all felt the need to tweet condemnations of the racist hateful ideologies of the Klan and neo-Nazis and white supremacists and alt-right on display in Charlottesville within hours of President Trump’s suggesting a moral equivalence between Nazis and those protests Nazis.”

Trump’s suggestion that there were bad and “very fine” people on “both sides” in Charlottesville was been so criticized, Tapper said, that CEOs working with him are jumping ship.

“So many CEOs and union leaders have fled White House business councils in protest, President Trump was forced to abandon the councils this afternoon,” Tapper said.

As Republican figures like Sens. Marco Rubio (R-FL), John McCain (R-AZ), commentator Charles Krauthammer, former presidential candidates Mitt Romney, John Kasich and Jeb Bush crowded to condemn the president, the only ones singing his praises, Tapper noted, were racists.

America fought two wars — the Civil War and the World War II — against the “morally repugnant” concepts on display in Charlottesville, Tapper said.

“We have freedoms in the country so klansmen and Nazis, they can think their ugly thoughts and spew their hideous words and they have the right to peacefully assemble,” Tapper said. “But to act as if these defeated, intellectually destitute, pathetic ideologies and people have any moral standing as they rally to intimidate and vomit forth their treasonous filth, it is not only immoral, it’s unpatriotic. It’s un-American.”

Watch the entire rousing, uncompromising criticism of the president’s “un-American” speech below, via CNN.

Need proof that GOP officials are trying to avoid talking about President Donald Trump?

How about this: They’re even turning down chances to be on Fox News.

On Wednesday, Fox host Shep Smith told viewers that he wanted to discuss the furor over Trump’s Tuesday press conference, in which the president equated white supremacists with those protesting them over the weekend in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Problem was, no one was willing to go on the air to support Trump’s statement that there were good neo-Nazis at the violent rally that killed one and injured at least 19.

    Smith explained his predicament:

“Our booking team ― and they’re good ― reached out to Republicans of all stripes, across the country today. Let’s be honest, Republicans often don’t really mind coming on Fox News Channel. We couldn’t get anyone to come and defend him here, because we thought, in balance, someone should do that.”

Smith was quick to point out that just because the GOP is shying away from Trump’s controversial statements in the wake of the weekend violence, they still aren’t ready to quit him.

“And of those that are condemning the president’s condemnable actions, I’ve not heard any prominent leaders, former presidents, members of the House or the Senate use his name while speaking in generalities.”
