Really trying to understand how this guy felt justified in pulling his weapon and firing. Here's the video—racist pulls gun and fires on black protester, cops did nothing pic.twitter.com/lE2PcGKJRw— Matt Bors (@MattBors) August 26, 2017
Just so you know the police ARE on this.
Kind of:
Police say Richard Wilson Preston was charged with discharging a firearm within 1,000 feet of a school. The 52-year-old was in custody in Towson, Maryland.
So are we to assume that if this guy had fired his gun at unarmed black people more than 1,000 feet from a school there would be no charges?
Cause I kind of think that if the black protesters had held up their fingers in the shape of a gun and gone "bang bang" that they would be facing life behind bars right now.
I'm just saying.
I hear him call out, "Hey, n**ger!" and then shot at him."
ReplyDeleteGawd, what a dystopia Trump has wrought. I do believe he is setting up America for a civil war, just to see if he can -- a revenge on everybody , all those who ever disrespected him or mocked him or tried to cheat him or just told him "no".
Might be. There's also a whole generation (the last ten or fifteen years) of young people watching only movies about apocalyptic events and dystopias. Not so many have watched anything about how sane people go about resolving issues. i think they got bored while President Obama was in office; he was clearly sane and intelligent and sought reasonable solutions to issues. This generation just wants to fight as long as they get to do the fighting and no one fights back.

Roger Stone said as much at LAX, with a "neener neener neener" attitude.
DeleteOut at politically active friend's for the weekend, watched MTP this morning as well as Stephenopolous. Trump supporters both shows were whacked but, as usual, had no answers except blubbering word salad.
ReplyDeleteThe guy in this video has been arrested.

I was just reading a string of short essays by prison inmates regarding their reactions to Charlottesville inside institutions that are basically frozen in the 1950s.
ReplyDelete“The only difference between prison in 2017 and a segregated 1950s is the fact that whites are often the minorities behind bars.”
Prisons are segregated. White and "coloreds" (anyone that isn't white) eat separately and some even have their own shower territory, stalls claimed by one side or another. But reading these accounts these inmates are saner than Trump and more socially conscious and responsible than these Nazis marching freely in the streets.

At what time ever has it be justified to shoot someone because you didn't like what they said, they waved the wrong finger or they looked at you funny?
I am reminded of a conversation I had with two young 7th graders while we waited for security to take them to the office to start a three day suspension for having a fight in my classroom.
"Why did you hit him?"
"He kicked me"
"Why did you kick him?"
"He took my backpack."
"Why did you take his backpack?"
"He took my pencil"
"Why did you take his pencil?"
"He looked at me funny."
"He LOOKED at you funny? Really? Do either of you think it is a good reason to be suspended from school for three days and have fighting as part of your permanent student record because he LOOKED AT YOU FUNNY?"
When I put it this way they both looked sheepish and felt stupid. Giggles from the other students helped to send the message home.
But that didn't matter. The referrals were written, the phone calls were made and they were suspended for three days for fighting.
Both white kids BTW.
And no, I had no time to intervene it happened that fast. I saw the kick and by the time I opened my mouth to say anything they were on each other and wouldn't stop. Some other students finally pulled them apart and I was on the phone.
You can call it whatever you want, poor parenting, two hot heads with bad tempers or whatever.
But Trump and the Nazis aren't making life any easier for children growing up. They hear the words. They see there are no consequences. The president is supposed to be a role model and no need to speak about how that is playing out.
I am so glad I am finally retired as I would hate to be in any middle school anywhere trying to deal with the fallout and aftermath of this Trump presidency.
