Rachel Maddow talks about the testimony provided to the House Judiciary Committee on the notorious Russian dossier, and what that means for the investigations.

Courtesy of Politicususa:

The reason this is such a big deal is that, again, nothing in the dossier has been overtly disproved. And if it really is a roadmap to the investigation, well, that’s a very serious roadmap to somewhere for the Trump White House. Because the two main claims in the dossier are that Russia was cultivating Trump for years, including them collecting information on him for years that could potentially oblige him to do Russia’s bidding, and the other part of it is that it alleges overt, knowing collusion between Trump and Russia and Russia’s effort to interfere in the presidential election in order to hurt Hillary Clinton. That’s what the dossier says. And if the dossier is about to be publicly defended and explained and backed up, that’s conceivably the whole ballgame.

I don't typically like to share videos that are more than about 5 to 6 minutes long because I am well aware that people are often too busy to watch them if they are too long.

However I am making an exception here, as I think this is absolutely the best explanation available for what this testimony means moving forward with these investigations.

Keep in mind that this Glenn Simpson guy testified for TEN HOURS, and provided 40,000 pages of documents to back up what was in that infamous dossier.

And while you are mulling that over remember that according to his attorney, Simpson completely stands behind the information reported on the dossier and is willing to have his testimony to the House Judiciary Committee made public.

And the Chairman of that committee supports that as well.

It has also been reported that Christopher Steele, the former MI6 agent who did the research on the dossier, has handed over a list of the sources that he used to compile it.

So instead of this Russian dossier being swept aside and forgotten, it appears that it is about to take center stage in these ongoing investigations into Trump's possible collusion with Russia.

And that can only be bad news for Trump, but great news for the rest of us.

I'm not a big fan of Rachel Maddow's presentation of thing cause she's dry and boring but I'll take your word for it. Trump is going down!

I enjoy TRMS very much and as a political junkie I really appreciate her in depth research and reporting.

Rachel Maddow - MSNBC - is the best journalist we currently have. Never miss her show and suggest everyone watch her. Smart, has a great sense of humor, is detailed, has an excellent research team and - in case you don't know - is extremely well educated and has her doctorate.

    4. I love Rachel's show. She's great at presenting complicated stories in language for the average person. I love her quirky personality too.

Your feelings and opinion of Maddow really, really matter.

@7:54 - no more or less than yours or Gryphen's or anybody else. Don't be so sensitive about such things. I'm fully aware of her education level and like Trump, if she were really so smart, people wouldn't have to harp about it.

Yes 7:54, my feelings and opinion of Rachel Maddow (and anything and anyone else) really, really matter.

I am thoughtful, educated and informed and prefer to act on reason not just emotion.

My feelings and opinions (whether good or bad)on ANY PERSON OR TOPIC determine how I devote my time, interact with others, spend my money and cast my vote--which in turn influences a great many other people and businesses.

Early morning activity, 6:18 AM, sounds like another commenter that cares about their opinions of Maddow.

They are compelled to mention what they think of her, whatever the issue that she is reporting. It could have been Walter Cronkite in the 60s, a person like 6:18 would go on about their thoughts of Cronkite and hardly care about his reporting or what he is reporting.

Today when Trump doesn't like a media source, he will just say things like "failing New York Times".

    12. You have to keep in mind that Rachel Maddow is currently one of the most effective journalists on cable TV.

Because of that the Right Wing is terrified of her.

Which is why posts about her sttract weird and disjointed criticisms designed to undermine her effectiveness and direct people to find fault with her.

When that does not work they invariably attack her appearance and her sexuality.

I have already rejected several of those comments this morning.

The glowing reviews of Maddow always crack me up from her fan club. At 7 million dollars a year, her biggest concern is ratings.

Another great crack up is those that can't discuss her reports. All they have is petty chatter in their nothing burgers. Loyal Americans that love their country, they do care when domestic or foreign entities do great harm with potential to damage and completely destroy the United States. Traitors are traitors. Anyone that works to cover up or support a traitors and their crimes is a traitor.

Rachel Maddow is top notch and she is here to stay.

In my neighborhood I only knew one person that had a problem with Rachel, he had the attention span of a flea. I doubt he could have listened to her. He was hung up about sexual issues and he always wanted to solve problems with violence. It was only a matter of time and he went off to the Big House. Everyone else appreciated her and what she is doing to inform people.

I would like maddow more if she had supported president Obama during the 2008 election and not gone out of her way to not support him. It's kind of a sticking point with me. She's only liberal when it comes to gay rights.

And exactly what have her 'reports' resulted in besides ratings 1:59? She is not news or journalism, she is entertainment disguised as something real. Open your eyes. There are opposite sides to the fox news coins don't cha know.

Critical mass and the time is nearing. Won't get that toothpaste back in the tube.

There can't be too many Russian probes until there are facts to back up what all went down over the years with Russia, Trumps and our elections.

To probe alleged Russian interference in the 2016 election, the special counsel has essentially built his own miniature Justice Department. Meet the experts he’s recruited.

You’d think an emergency would be urgent.
    http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2017/08/trump-said-hed-declare-an-opioid-state-of-emergency-guess-what-hasnt-happened/

Trump Said He’d Declare the Opioid Crisis a National Emergency. He Still Hasn’t.

Meanwhile does Donald Trump care about all the young/old dead ones in America's war on drugs? How much can he show families how he cares about the dead and damaged by pharma in this National Emergency where he declares Opioid Crisis?

Is Trumps word worth anything at all?

All he cares about is RUSSIA, RUSSIA, RUSSIA. He can't express his true cares. He can talk about building a wall. He's a builder and all that. He can rally to lock people up because they could cross a wall-less border.
Can he show one iota that he will keep his word?
Declare the Opioid Crisis a National Emergency, which means to Trump, lock up more people. The Justice Dept is already helping him do that. Who has the money to go after Pharma for their part?

Someones are making bundles of money with Trump's rally cries like the lock 'em up approach. Politicians will always have kickback whether it is cash, votes or both.
