The Donald Trump-Stephen Bannon bromance might be coming to an end. (Psst, Trump thinks Bannon is the leaker.)

Courtesy of The Hill:

President Trump reportedly suspects that his chief strategist Stephen Bannon is behind some White House leaks about fellow staffers, according to a new report by Axios.

Sources told Axios that West Wing staff believe Bannon was behind leaks about national security adviser H.R. McMaster and that Bannon's job could be in danger.

According to the report, Trump has been "irritated" with Bannon following a series of Breitbart reports targeting McMaster. Bannon was formerly the executive chairman of Breitbart.

There is no clear connection, however, linking Bannon to such reports.

Trump has long decried leaks of sensitive information to media, such as specifics of his Oval Office conversations with world leaders earlier this year, as well as details surrounding the palace intrigue around the White House.

Come on, we know Bannon's the leaker.

After all if somebody else was leaking to Breibart Bannon would have forced them to give him the name and he would have outed that person a long time ago.

Bad timing if you think about it.

I mean just imagine how much fun Trump and Bannon could have had bonding over the video of that alt-right dude plowing through a crowd of liberal snowflakes.

But nope, Bannon thought it was more important to repeatedly stab McMaster in the back than to celebrate a murderous rampage by an alt-right racist. (Which you know they totally would have if the circumstances were different.)

Okay so if Bannon goes how many would that make?

Lewandowski, Flynn, Manafort, Priebus, and now if Bannon goes that is almost all of Trump's original team members kicked to the curb.

All that will remain from the original group will be family members and Jeff Sessions. And face it, Sessions is living on borrowed time.

I now picture Donald Trump wandering through the White House alone at night becoming increasingly isolated and increasingly suspicious of everybody who tries to get close to him.

Bannon should never have been given a position of authority in the White House. IF he's given the boot, he will still be advising Trump in an "unofficial " capacity. Trump is afraid Bannon will turn Brietbart and all it's racist supporters against him. Trumps a fucking coward.

Trump would leak but he has Bannon to do that. Bannon may have gone rogue and leaked when Trump didn't want him to leak.

If he will remove Bannon from his position, it may just be to shuffle him to a made up job in the White House. Some kind of punishment.

Bannon leaving will be like Trump losing both arms, may be legs. I can't see the loss of Bannon having a good effect for Trump. Others may love it. Are they ready to deal with a Bannonless Trump presidency?

Yep, Preibus and Spencer are both gone yet the leaks continue (thankfully). So I'd place a bet that both Conway AND Pence are leakers. After all, both of them travel with the President and are included in many or most meetings.

‘What a pathetic, sniveling little nano-president’: Morning Joe panel lights up Trump’s refusal to disavow Nazis

...New York Times reporter Frank Bruni went on to say that Trump is the leader of the Republican Party, and as a result he has to set the standard.

“If we’re trying to look for some silver lining here,” Bruni continued, “something good to come out of it, he’s making many Republicans who were mealy-mouth on this or came out and made their principles clear. He’s making them say very sharp things they haven’t said before. When we’re done with Donald Trump, and I look forward to that day, these statements will live on.”

He went on to say that it is strange to see the president be so soft on attacks after so many times before he’s gone after people. In fact, they brought up the show hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, who were off Monday, but who Trump has been merciless in going after. If Trump can go after morning political talk show hosts, the panel wondered why Trump can’t disavow Nazis.

Donald Trump has had time to study the Charlottesville terrorism. He and Bannon can bang heads and he will know all Bannon needs him to know.

It's been said that it was Miller and Bannon that worked on Trump's first public comments from Bedminister. McMaster still seemed to be on another page. I don't know if that has changed, Bannon is still there last I knew.

We will be hearing something today. We'll see how strong and clear.

“Do you condemn the actions of neo Nazis? Do you condemn the actions of white supremacists?”

Trump has shot himself in the foot and plunged himself into crisis mode because he won’t speak out against neo-Nazis. The President Of The United States ignored the easiest lay up in all of politics. All Trump had to do was walk over to reporters and say that there is no place in America for neo-Nazis and white supremacists. They do not represent America, and he does not want their support.

Calling racists bad is the easiest part of the job of being president. It is impossible to screw up unless you are a racist yourself and share the beliefs of the neo-Nazis and white supremacists.

Trump is siding with the Nazis, and it doesn’t matter what he says in the future because what he isn’t saying now is encouraging racial violence in the United States.

...The smear campaign is seen as being orchestrated from inside the White House by chief Trump strategist Steve Bannon, who last year bragged that he had turned Breitbart into a “platform” for the white nationalists of the alt-right. The ugly crusade against McMaster is just the latest example of Trump’s radical-right allies attacking distinguished members of the U.S. military.

White nationalists inside Trump’s camp reportedly don’t trust McMaster, whom they view as a “globalist” who is soft on Islamic terrorism. By so forcefully denouncing homegrown, right-wing terror over the weekend, McMaster likely only sharpened the alt-right anger directed at him.

"I wonder how many protesters I could run over."

...In March, in response to Native Americans demonstrating against Trump’s support for the Dakota Access Pipeline, Daily Caller editor Katie Frates tweeted, and then deleted, “I wonder how many #NativeNationsRise #NoDAPL protestors I could run over before I got arrested #getoutofmyway”.

...The North Carolina House of Representatives proposed two bills targeting protestors in roads — one that would declare them guilty of a new crime called “economic terrorism” and one that would strip protestors of the right to sue drivers who hit them.

Similar bills banning protestors injured by cars from suing drivers were proposed by Republicans in Tennessee and North Dakota.

Another GOP bill in Indiana, while it did not explicitly relax penalties on hitting pedestrians, directed police to use “any means necessary” to break up protests in roads, which would appear to encourage violence. The bill’s sponsor, State Sen. Tim Jones, claimed protestors in roads are a lethal menace because they prevent emergency vehicles reaching people in time, but when pressed could not name one example of that happening.

Dangerous rhetoric leads to dangerous outcomes. Republicans should not be surprised, after repeatedly demonizing and denying the rights of protestors in roads, that the end result was violence.

The Year in Hate and Extremism

The radical right was more successful in entering the political mainstream last year than in half a century. How did it happen?

After half a century of being increasingly relegated to the margins of society, the radical right entered the political mainstream last year in a way that had seemed virtually unimaginable since George Wallace ran for president in 1968.

A surge in right-wing populism, stemming from the long-unfolding effects of globalization and the movements of capital and labor that it spawned, brought a man many considered to be a racist, misogynist and xenophobe into the most powerful political office in the world. Donald Trump’s election as president mirrored similar currents in Europe, where globalization energized an array of extreme-right political movements and the United Kingdom’s decision to quit the European Union.

Trump’s run for office electrified the radical right, which saw in him a champion of the idea that America is fundamentally a white man’s country.

He’s young and media-savvy and knew how to bring thousands of white supremacists together for Saturday’s “Unite The Right” rally.

Years ago people like Mosley saw themselves as a fringe group in American politics. Now, under Trump, they feel like their views are gaining momentum, even becoming mainstream, they say."

(Eli Mosley, the coward that ran away from his own press conference. Because all of these racists are cowards at heart.)

"With a president of the United States not condemning Nazism, and after over a year of signaling his support for white nationalism, experts are deeply concerned that we’re in store for political violence even worse than the kind that visited Charlottesville."

"In a statement Sunday the Anti-Defamation League spelled out what that action could be. The group called on Trump to “terminate all staff” with any ties to white nationalists, likely referring to prominent White House advisers Steve Bannon, Steven Miller, and Sebastian Gorka, all of whom are linked to racist, fringe figures and groups.

“This is a moment that demands moral leadership,” ADL President Jonathan Greenblatt said in a statement. “President Trump should acknowledge that this is not a matter of equivalence between two sides with similar gripes. There is no rationalizing white supremacy and no room for this vile bigotry. It is un-American and it needs to be condemned without hesitation.” "

Yeah, that isn't going to happen. He's going to make Stephen Miller his Communications Director!

"He claimed to have lost his job three months ago after being exposed as a white nationalist online. He said he’s working full-time now as an alt-right organizer. For this new life, he said he was preparing to drive home to Pennsylvania Sunday so he could pack his things for a move to Virginia.

In Virginia, he said, he could more easily organize the next big alt-right rallies in the state capital, Richmond, and of course, in Charlottesville."
