White House spokesperson angry that reporters are "pushing a narrative that just doesn't exist," invents one of her own instead.

Transcript courtesy of the Washington Examiner:

"The only thing I see misleading is a year's worth of stories that have been fueling a false narrative about this Russia collusion, a phony scandal based on anonymous sources," Sanders said after being asked how much Trump helped his son write a statement about a meeting he had last year with a Russian lawyer.

"You guys are focused on a meeting that Don Jr. had no consequence," she said. "[T]he Democrats actually colluded with a foreign government, like Ukraine, the Democrat-linked firm Fusion GPS actually took money from the Russian government while it created the phony dossier that's been the basis for all of the Russia scandal fake news."

"And if you want to talk further about a relationship with Russia, look no further than the Clintons," Sanders said. "As we've said time and time again, Bill Clinton was paid $500,000 to give a speech to a Russian bank and was personally thanked by Putin for it."

"Hillary Clinton allowed one-fifth of America's uranium reserve to be sold to a Russian firm whose investors were Clinton Foundation donors, and the Clinton campaign chairman's brother lobbied against sanctions on Russia's largest bank and failed to report it," she said.

"If you guys want to talk about having relations, which you seem obsessed with doing, look no further than there." "If you want to talk about somebody who's actually been tough on Russia, look at President Trump. He wants more fracking, more coal, more energy, a stronger military, a stronger defense. Those things aren't good for Russia."

"I think the distinctions are very clear," she concluded. "You guys want to create a narrative that just doesn't exist."

Do you know what narrative doesn't exist? The one about the Trump campaign's ties to Russia, with all of the evidence.

But do you know which narrative DOES exist? The one about the Clinton's that I just pulled out of my ass.

Actually that is not fair.

Sanders read that response verbatim from a sheet of paper on her podium, which means it was pulled out of Donald Trump's ass and handed to her in order to create this narrative.

And of course it is indeed a putrid pile of excrement, with virtually no real factual basis.

I already dealt with that uranium nonsense here, the rest is just as bad.

The Clinton campaign chairman's brother? I mean come on!

Is there also a connection between Russia and the Clinton housekeeper's second cousin's, second wife's, former brother-in-law's kid brother?

This definitely smacks of desperation.

Let's face it, she would never get a job that involves being in front of people if she didn't have the "Huckabee" in her resume. She is butt ugly and had no sense of what to wear. The hairdo is horrible on her. I always laugh at her ears sticking out. But beyond her appearance is that awful grating voice and arrogant demeanor. I loved the fact that Little Jared does not realize that much can and should be learned from the history of the Middle East. He's every bit as uneducated as his father-in-law. Actually everyone in the Trump family and extended family shows how college degrees can still be bought if paid for by generous donations by parents and other family members. And Trump wants to investigate discrimination against white Americans in colleges and universities. He and his relatives have never been smart enough for higher education but they were all able to pay their way through. If that isn't a form of "affirmative action" by check, I don't know what is.

Secret donations are helping to boost President Trump's agenda, fights with investigators

The political empire affiliated with billionaire Charles Koch has spent $2 million to date to advance Trump’s tax-cut blueprint and will hold events this week in Washington to kick off the next phase of its multimillion-dollar campaign to drive congressional support for a comprehensive tax plan to slice corporate tax rates and enact broader tax cuts.

Americans for Prosperity, the Koch network’s grass-roots arm, already has 50 events scheduled in August and September to help promote the tax plan.

The pro-Trump Great America Alliance is spending $450,000 on a TV and digital ad that casts special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe into possible collusion between Russia and Trump’s campaign as a “rigged game.”

The group already has pumped more than $3 million in advertising to advance Trump’s policies and has committed to spending $5 million more, said Eric Beach, a Republican strategist who helps run the group.

The Judicial Crisis Network, which spent $7 million to push Trump’s top judicial nominee, Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch, is “prepared to spend whatever we need to spend to help President Trump fulfill his promise of restoring balance to our federal courts,” policy director Carrie Severino said in a statement.

Trump has more than 100 judicial vacancies to fill.

Much of the money comes from very rich people who perhaps fear the end result of this experiment in having the country run by a rich-guy-cum-traitor-cum-idiot and by a bunch of ignorant rich cronies. I think they fear the worst for themselves - God, higher taxes and fewer loopholes. They must not sleep a wink at night, so they give more money to keep the Trump machine afloat and keep their coffers full. I guess none of them has ever understood that this country does best when the greatest number of people are succeeding or that the US economy does best when Democrats are in charge. Poor dumb rich guys!

Trump International Hotel & Tower Baku is an unfinished 33-floor hotel and condominium tower located in the Nasimi District in Baku, Azerbaijan. Construction began in 2008, when the project was initially planned as an apartment building.
      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trump_International_Hotel_and_Tower_(Baku)

The Trump Organization. Trump's daughter, Ivanka Trump, oversaw the project's overall development, while Mace, a London-based construction company, oversaw the partial conversion of the tower into a hotel. Ivanka Trump and The Trump Organization were intricately involved in approving designs to bring the project up to Trump standards. Employees of The Trump Organization made monthly visits to the site to approve each new work order on the project. Although many of the project's condominiums had been completed at the time of Donald Trump's involvement, employees of The Trump Organization had much of the building's interior gutted and rebuilt. Several elevators were also added. Ivanka Trump toured the property in October 2014. Donald Trump publicly announced the project on November 6, 2014, with plans to open it in June 2015 as the next property in the Trump Hotel Collection.

A new website named after a Founding Father is tracking Russian propaganda in real time

... A website launched on Wednesday by a former FBI special agent-turned disinformation expert claims to track Russian propaganda in near-real time, as it spreads via Twitter accounts that have been linked to Russian influence operations.

Clint Watts, who garnered national media attention after testifying before the Senate Intelligence Committee about Russia's ongoing cyber and propaganda war against the West, spearheaded the project called Hamilton 68 — a hat tip to the founding father's Federalist Papers No. 68.

"In the Federalist Papers No. 68, Alexander Hamilton wrote of protecting America’s electoral process from foreign meddling," the site reads, alluding to Russia's interference in the 2016 election. "Today, we face foreign interference of a type Hamilton could scarcely have imagined."

Watts worked on Hamilton 68 with JM Berger, a fellow with the International Centre for Counter-Terrorism who studies extremism and propaganda on social media; Andrew Weisburd, a fellow at the Center for Cyber & Homeland Security; and Jonathon Morgan, the CEO of New Knowledge AI and head of Data for Democracy, a volunteer collective of data scientists and technologists.

Laura Rosenberger, the director of the German Marshall Fund's ‎Alliance for Securing Democracy, was brought on by Watts as the project "moved from wish to reality," Berger told Business Insider on Wednesday.

"I love working with all these folks, so it was great fun for me to see them all come together on this project," Berger said. He added that he has been working with Watts and Weisburd on Russian influence operations, and with Morgon on social media influence analysis, for about three years.

The project will attempt to monitor and illustrate the themes that Russian President Vladimir Putin wants Americans to be thinking and talking about — namely, "the break up of the European Union, the dissolution of NATO and the failure of democratic governance in the United States specifically and in the West broadly," the site says.

Huckabee Sanders Deflects Cover-Up Bombshell by Yelling Clinton Conspiracies

...There are some awfully vigorous deflections coming from this White House for a story that is supposedly either made up or of little consequence, depending on which person is talking about it, which, of course, only makes journalists hungrier to dig out the truth.

The president may appreciate Huckabee Sanders's performance on Tuesday. But if he thinks it will work in turning reporters' attention elsewhere, then he knows less about the media than he thinks.

The Newest Addition to Robert Mueller’s Team Should Have Donald Trump Terrified

Now why would you want somebody who specializes in foreign bribery on this investigation...

As of this writing, we are currently in the middle of Donald Trump's six-thousandth instance when a portion of the news media has bought into the idea of a Donald Trump pivot. It's a never-ending loop that goes something like this: Three months or so of absolutely infuriating, hair-pulling-out, disrespectful, shameful behavior from Donald Trump and the people who work for him. This is usually followed by a major personnel change, which is in turn followed by 48 hours or so of stories about how Donald Trump is a changed man.

This, of course, only lasts until Trump reveals some new and awful bigoted policy change that seemingly exists exclusively to hurt a minority group, or until he insults a world leader for no reason, or until he's hangry one night and McDonald's is closed so his only choice is to go on an unhinged Twitter rant. It's a vicious cycle that we seem doomed to repeat over and over again until 2020, or until Trump gets us into a nuclear war because he's mad at something Mika and Joe said. But there's hope!

"A former U.S. Justice Department official has become the latest lawyer to join special counsel Robert Mueller’s team investigating Russia’s interference in the 2016 presidential election, a spokesman for the team confirmed.

Greg Andres started on Tuesday, becoming the 16th lawyer on the team, said Josh Stueve, a spokesman for the special counsel.

Most recently a white-collar criminal defense lawyer with New York law firm Davis Polk & Wardwell, Andres, 50, served at the Justice Department from 2010 to 2012. He was deputy assistant attorney general in the criminal division, where he oversaw the fraud unit and managed the program that targeted illegal foreign bribery."

      Illegal foreign bribery.

Someone is going to be shitting kittens.

...To the supporters and enablers of President Trump: please read carefully, because I don’t want you to miss a single word. You will never get your country back because it was never yours to have in the first place. America doesn’t belong to any one person. It belongs to Muslims in Detroit, Christians in Lubbock, Jews in New York City, and atheists in Los Angeles.

America belongs to Republicans just as much as America belongs to Democrats. That’s how these UNITED States work. To the uninformed and incompetent former Governor from Alaska, the knuckle-dragging bigot masquerading as a special advisor, and the race-baiting failure of a president that currently have the loudest voices in the Republican Party, you do not have a monopoly on this great country. You never will.

I can't wait for SNL to tackle Ms. Huckabee-What's-Her- Name. She deserves every second of it.

I don't understand how any sentient, relatively normal American man or woman (especially) can stand working in the White House for Trump or, for that matter, working for any part of the Trump administration or the GOP in Congress. One besmirches one's dignity and self-esteem every moment spent in the vicinity of Trump or his GOP enablers.

    3. Oh, John Goodman would be great. In keeping with the cross gender impersonations. Trump will hate that and move her out even faster.

  27. Hackers cracked voting machines in 90 min.

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/hackers-crack-voting-machines-within-minutes-at-def-con-in-vegas_us_597ca139e4b02a4ebb75c134?ajw&ncid=inblnkushpmg00000009

"We already knew U.S. voting systems had security flaws ― the federal government put that nail in the coffin when it repeatedly confirmed that Russian hackers breached systems in at least 21 states during the election last year.

But on Friday, hackers stateside showed us just how easily some of the electronic voting machines can be cracked.

Those who attended DEF CON, a 25-year-old hacking convention held in Las Vegas, were given physical and remote access to voting machines procured from eBay and government auctions.

Within about 90 minutes, they’d exploited weak and outdated security measures to gain full access, The Register first reported. Some physically broke down the machines to reveal their vulnerabilities, while others gained remote access or showed that external ports found on some could be used to upload malicious software. "

So what do Republicans want to do to prevent voter fraud?

They want to defund the commission that oversees voter machine hacking.

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/eliminating-the-election-assistance-commission-would_us_5981f0e0e4b0b35d274c5f1c?ncid=inblnkushpmg00000009

"This past weekend, hackers gathered in Las Vegas with a simple mission: break into America’s electronic voting machines and take control. Within minutes, some had already succeeded – but that’s a good thing. These hackers were part of a workshop held to identify vulnerabilities so they can be fixed well before any Americans cast actual votes next election. This exercise underscores the very real danger posed by outdated and insecure voting-machine software – as well as the important mission our government must continue undertaking to close these vulnerabilities and safeguard our elections.

However, in their FY2018 funding proposal, Republicans are going after the small but highly successful agency that protects the integrity of our voting systems: the Election Assistance Commission. In June, House Republicans included a provision in their Financial Services and General Government Appropriations bill that would abolish the Election Assistance Commission."

Now, if Republicans were so concerned about voter fraud, why are they defunding the very commission that is out to prevent it? Hmm. Voting machines, hackers, this sounds familiar.

Could it be that the Trump administration is paving the way for Russian hackers to rig the 2018 and 2020 elections?

Naw, he wouldn't be that blatant, would he?

Well, THEY really. It's the REPUBLICAN PARTY that is defunding the commission.

Still colluding with the Russians, I see.

Donald Trump's list of accomplishments is thinner than a Mensa Members for Trump directory, so one of Trump's favorite weird tricks is to try to take credit for President Barack Obama's accomplishments.

One talking point you've been hearing a lot lately is Trump's White House taking credit for the booming stock market that Obama left him, a talking point that Trump repeated Wednesday morning at a White House event.

Trump and his minions are anxiously anticipating a record 22,000-point close in the Dow Jones Industrial Average, and on Wednesday morning, viewers of “Fox & Friends” were treated to this bit of fake news from the denizens of the Algonquin Curvy Couch:

“When he took office six months ago, 16,000 was sort of unheard of at that time.”

Damn, missed it by that much. In point of fact, the Dow crossed 16,000 in November 2013 and went up from there, finishing at 19,887 when Obama left office. But worse than that, Trump's stock market is performing barely half as well as Obama's at the same point in his presidency:
