A Charlotte mayoral candidate wants people to know that she’s Republican, smart – and white.
“VOTE FOR ME!” Kimberley Paige Barnette posted on Facebook. “REPUBLICAN & SMART, WHITE, TRADITIONAL.”
Barnette, who turned 53 on Friday, is a former Mecklenburg County magistrate making her first run for office.
She could not be immediately reached.
In a WTVI debate last month, Barnette criticized last September’s Charlotte protesters. She called the protests “an expression of Democratic behavior.”
Asked how the city could help its lower-income residents, Barnette said, “I don’t think we should encourage more lower-income people to (come to) Charlotte.”
“We should attract higher-income people.”
In case you missed it, "higher-income" is shorthand for not a brown person.
I don't really want to judge people on their looks, but I am pretty sure I saw that same face stirring a cauldron during a Shakespearean play I watched one time.
But hey, she's white so who cares?
This is now apparently Trump's America where being white is really the only qualification one needs for success.

ReplyDeleteGiven how she describes herself, I don't think I'd ever call her "nice." She's promoting herself as a racist, anti-gay woman who thinks she's better than anyone else. She's even against democracy, for heaven's sake. Even if I were a Republican, she would not get my vote. The last thing we need in this country are more politicians who refuse to accept people as they are.

On the positive side of trump being elected, it has emboldened these people to come out of the shadows and reveal themselves for who they really are. Yes u can march with ur tiki torch but u may not have a job when u get home.

As much as I hate to admit it, he may be right - as long as he/she has the following qualifications:
Delete1.) BORN a citizen of the US
2.) 35 or older
3.) live continuously inside the US the last 14 years.
As for the "Kid Rock" being qualified? Much easier.
1.) Be a US citizen for at least nine years when elected
2.) 30+ years of age
3.) a resident of the state the Senator represents.
And they don't even need a GED! No educational levels are mentioned. There are no other qualifications. Period.
