While some suggest that Hillary Clinton should shut up and sit down, others are clearly anxious to hear what she has to say.

Of course while this is going on some in the media are desperately trying to get Hillary to stop talking about the election and stop hijacking attention away from what is going on right now with Donald Trump's policy decisions and the Russia investigations.

However I am certainly not among those who want Hillary to stop talking, I am more on the side of wanting to hear her take on what happened during the campaign, because to be honest I think it is still happening and continues to threaten Democracy in this country.

I am also paying attention to the fact that whole lot of Hillary haters are taking this opportunity to continue the attacks on her that have been going on now for over thirty years.

Courtesy of Fortune:

Some book critics say Clinton's latest title delivers the kind of authenticity that she's lacked in the past. The New York Times' Jennifer Senior calls the book a "feminist manifesto," "a score-settling jubilee," and "worth reading." Others, meanwhile, fault Clinton for using the 464-page text to blame players like Bernie Sanders, James Comey, and Vladimir Putin for the election defeat, rather than taking responsibility herself.

And then there are the decidedly less analytical reviews that are already populating the book's Amazon listing.

Given the current political climate and the venomous nature of the 2016 race, it's probably no surprise that critics of Clinton have used one-star reviews to further communicate their dislike of the former first lady, or in some cases, peddle conspiracy theories about Clinton and husband Bill.

Fortune points out that none of the reviews are from folks who are verified purchasers of her book which means they are simply attacking the book because her name is attached to it.

And of course the same was true for her campaign.

People did not listen to what she had to say because SHE was the one saying it.

If you ARE one of those people interested in what Hillary had to say, then I recommend that you watch this interview with Vox.

And after watching, or perhaps instead of watching, you can also read her words in the written version of the Vox interview. And see for yourself if this seems like somebody who deserves all of the hate and vitriol that surrounded her during the campaign. And still surrounds her today.

I would like to close this post by addressing the response that some have to the charge that a lot of the anger toward Hillary stemmed from the simple fact that she was a woman.

They respond that they were ready to elect a woman, but not THAT woman.

But the problem with that is the fact that THAT woman was running against THAT man.

So if you removed the gender difference and this were two men, or for the sake of argument two women, with the exact same baggage and the exact same qualifications that Trump and Hillary brought to the 2016 election, who do YOU really think would have won?

Just bought it today. Typically I purchase i-books and watch them on my tablet.

But this felt like a book I needed in hard copy for the old library.

Did something noteworthy happen with Clinton in 1969? It's a rather long article so could you just spoil us and direct us to the point? She would have been about 21 I believe.

    4. Anonymous9:26 PM

@6:38 hrc worked in a nasty fish cannary. A summer job

    5. Anonymous9:29 PM

Not so noteworthy. But she was more of a frontier woman than the eXgov.

  2. Anonymous12:31 PM

Hilary haters aren't interested in the facts of her life. Their hatred is a direct reflection of their ignorance ... as are the one star 'reviews' of a book they never read and never will read. Trump and various RW anti-Clinton sources have said over the years, in one form or another, "lock her up" so they want to lock her up. It's Pavlovian.

  3. Anonymous12:31 PM

the cover ironically tells the whole story.

    What Happened

    Hillary Rodham Clinton

    1. Anonymous12:56 PM

What happened was the idiots got their man/child in power. Some of them may now realize they voted against their self-interests. What is his historically low approval rating now?

  4. Anonymous1:14 PM

Hillary can say what she wants. I am glad she wrote a book and couldn't care less about the naysayers. From what I understand it is just some Democrats. They don't think it is good for the party and future elections or something.

    1. Anonymous1:41 PM

This life-long Democrat has a huge amount of respect for Hillary Clinton. She has served the people of this country very well, much better than any Republican. I'm looking forward to reading her book and I certainly don't think that the fact that she has written a frank account of the past year will have a negative effect on future elections or on the Democratic Party.

    2. Anonymous4:36 PM

Beaglemom, I agree with every word you wrote!

  5. Anonymous1:21 PM

This outrage from the right reminds me of what happened whenever Snowdrift Snookie released a book; people who hadn't purchased flooded the Amazon comments with one star reviews and vitriolic comments and there were a ton of photographic social media posts showing people turning the books around, hiding her books behind others or actually moving them to a less popular part of the old-fashioned bookstores.

Works both ways, that's for sure.

    1. Anonymous2:43 PM

I had a lot of fun doing it, too!
      Thanks for the memories.

    2. Anonymous6:26 PM

The difference is, sweets, that Clinton actually wrote a book herself, full of facts. Sarah copied Bible verses and had Nancy French write blurbs about them. Notice that since she can't afford Nancy any more, there have been no more books.

    3. Anonymous10:49 PM

Snowdrift has never written a book of course. She's too dumb and lazy. She does excel, however, in lying and cashing in. This is well known. Sometimes folks get annoyed by hucksters like her.

    4. Anonymous9:31 AM

"Clinton actually wrote a book herself"

oh my god, do you actually believe that Clinton herself wrote this book lol?!

    5. Anonymous2:56 PM

If you weren't so limited you would realize it is very likely she wrote it. Hilary is a highly educated and intelligent person. Sarah(is that you?) however, it a low IQ and uneducated dolt. Lol!

  6. Anonymous1:21 PM

The extreme RW hatred of this women exposes the diseased nature of their own minds. It has the appearance of some type of mental disorder. Rage and hatred seem to be big components of the 'conservative' mindset.

  7. Anonymous1:30 PM

I remember when the presidency was stolen from Al Gore, and he was told to shut up and sit down. He should have contested that election. Imagine history without Bush to fuck things up. Now those same nay Sayers are telling Hillary she should shut up and sit down. I'm glad she's speaking her mind! Thank god we have someone who is willing to speak the truth.

  8. Anonymous1:52 PM

I went to Amazon this afternoon and bought Katy Tur's book about the Trump campaign. It will arrive tomorrow.

Now I'm buying Clinton's book. I hope new books are published every week that shed light on what happened during the 2016 campaign and Russian involvement in our democracy.

"The paper proposes 10 ways to raise funds to pay for the proposed single-payer system, broken into three sections: options to save families and businesses on health care expenses, options to make the wealthy pay their fair share, and options to make Wall Street and large, profitable corporations pay their fair share."

  10. Anonymous2:42 PM

BAM! I hope he suffers prison 'justice'. smug little prick.

Judge sends Martin Shkreli to jail for Facebook post offering bounty for Hillary Clinton's hair

Martin Shkreli said the $5,000 bounty he posted for Hillary Clinton's hair was meant to be a joke.
He apologized for the stunt to a federal judge.
Prosecutors claimed he is a danger to the public because of the Clinton post and online comments he made targeting two other women.

    1. Anonymous5:25 PM

Hopefully he will get enough time to wipe that smirk off his face. That fellow ain't normal.

  11. Anonymous2:51 PM

    "Chelsea Manning, Sean Spicer"
" "We welcome the breadth of thought-provoking viewpoints on race, gender, politics and the media.""

  12. Anonymous2:55 PM

  13. Bwa ha ha. Shkreli's ass is grass.

"A U.S. judge on Wednesday ordered Martin Shkreli to be jailed while he awaits sentencing for securities fraud, citing a Facebook post in which the former drug company offered a $5,000 reward for a strand of Hillary Clinton's hair.

Shkreli, who had been free on $5 million bail since his December 2015 arrest, was silent and stony-faced as U.S. marshals led out of U.S. District Judge Kiyo Matsumoto's Brooklyn courtroom.

Matsumoto ruled that Shkreli's Sept. 4 post, made shortly before Clinton embarked on a book tour, showed he posed a danger to the public. She rejected arguments by Shkreli's lawyer, Benjamin Brafman, that the post was protected free speech."

At last that fucking asshole is locked up. I hope when his sentence finally comes down it's prison and not just jail.

""This is a solicitation of assault in exchange for money," the judge said. "That is not protected by the First Amendment."

Matsumoto rebuffed Brafman's repeated pleas to reconsider her decision, or at least give Shkreli until Monday to prove he was not a danger.

The judge also scheduled Shkreli's sentencing for Jan. 16.

"We are obviously disappointed," Brafman told reporters outside the courthouse. "We believed that the court arrived at the wrong decision. But she's the judge, and right now we will have to live with this decision."

Shkreli, who earned the nickname "Pharma Bro" for exploits that included increasing to the price of a life-saving drug by 5,000 percent, said in a letter to Matsumoto on Tuesday that the post was meant as satire.

Brafman repeated that on Wednesday, but Matsumoto was not convinced.

"What's funny about that?" she demanded."

Only an asshole like Shkreli would think putting out a contract to assault a woman would be "satire."

That seems to be the fall back for all of the Deplorables. When you get called out or there are consequences, it's a joke, it's sarcasm, satire, you have no sense of humor.

This is no better than that "Trick!" juveniles used to say after they were busted for some outrageous statement or behavior.

  14. Anonymous3:06 PM

"The president’s eldest daughter “should be judged and held accountable” just like everyone else who is closely associated with him,"

  15. Anonymous3:13 PM

"Tamblyn chimed in to say that Woods had tried to pick her up in a diner parking lot when she was 16, even posting a screenshot of a text with a friend who was with her that night, corroborating the story."
"Since I know people love to question the intengrity and honesty of women when they come forward with stories like this, here you go."

    1. Anonymous3:38 PM

James Woods has been a known creeper forever.

    2. Anonymous5:23 PM

Woods is despicable. And to think I liked a few of his quirky performances. I can't even stand to watch the man now that I have been made aware of the person behind the role.

    3. Anonymous10:25 PM

I once saw Woods on a date with a much younger Heather Graham. For anyone who knows LA, it was in the old Hal's restaurant in Venice (not the new Hal's.)

  16. Crystal Sage5:24 PM

I couldn't wait for the hardcover and I downloaded it. Half way through already and am more of a fan of Hillary than ever. She is one smart person who was robbed of the presidency. I hope to live long enough to see her vindicated - and Trump out of office in disgrace.

  17. Anonymous5:40 PM

You have to wonder when the election was stolen from Al Gore, and now Hillary Clinton, who is behind all of this? There are dark forces about. Donald is a puppet.

    1. Anonymous6:51 PM

The Supreme Court decided the 2000 election. I guess whoever "is behind this" must to have gotten all the way to the top, huh?

    2. Anonymous9:13 AM

I didn't realize governor of Florida was considered "all the way to the top".

  18. Anonymous6:28 PM

When Trump tweeted his obnoxious "I happened!" crap, I realized how very stupid he is. Her title is not a's a statement. In her words, her memories, what happened last year that kept her from the White House. I can;t wait to read it. I admire her, love her, and will always be sad that she was cheated by the Russians and the Manic Depressive.

    1. Anonymous10:39 PM

He owns obnoxious. His supporters are even worse.

  19. Anonymous6:51 PM

Many verified purchasers on Amazon not only bought the hardcover book but the audio version as well so they could enjoy Hillary's voice reading the book.

  20. Anonymous7:15 PM

LOL you sound like the the PeePond denizens who sent their sofa cushion change to Sister Sarah because they just wuv wuv wuv'ed her. Gryphen are you and Food Stamps Pete the same person?

    1. Anonymous9:40 PM

Pretty sure gryphen can afford a book. But I'm sure he appreciates your concern.

  21. Anonymous6:58 AM

"“I'm so doing it. Fuck Hillary,” read the most upvoted comment on the thread. “I'm gonna send a copy to my #resist crazy aunt. She's gonna be so TRIGgered,”

  22. Anonymous7:09 AM

"The "deplorables" came back to haunt Hillary. They expressed their feelings loud and clear. She spent big money but, in the end, had no game!"

Don't feed the trolls!
It just goes directly to their thighs.
