Donald Trump missed the deadline to implement those Russian sanctions. Surprised?

Courtesy of the Washington Examiner:

President Trump's team has missed a deadline for implementing new sanctions against Russia, and has ignored congressional requests for more information, according to a pair of leading senators.

"They've had plenty of time to get their act together," Senate Armed Services Chairman John McCain, R-Ariz., and Maryland Sen. Ben Cardin, the top Democrat on the Foreign Relations Committee, said Wednesday.

McCain and Cardin spearheaded a congressional effort to impose far-reaching sanctions on Russia in response to President Vladimir Putin's aggression in a variety of arenas. The bill passed with near-unanimity in the Senate, and Trump opposed the bill but signed it. But the Trump team missed an October 1 deadline for implementing the sanctions, which target Russia's defense and intelligence sectors.

"The delay calls into question the Trump administration's commitment to the sanctions bill which was signed into law more than two months ago, following months of public debate and negotiations in Congress," the senators said.

Yeah, like Trump was EVER going to bite that hand that helped get him elected.

Silly GOP Senators.

By the way it should be noted that the Washington Examiner is a Right Wing rag, so if they are reporting a story like this it means that Trump is now losing the conservative media.

    CNN:
The real reason Trump is so dead set on crushing Obamacare

Analysis by Chris Cillizza, CNN Editor-at-large

Updated 9:50 AM ET, Fri October 13, 2017

Washington (CNN) Over the past 24 hours, President Donald Trump has signed two executive orders aimed at mortally wounding the Affordable Care Act.

The first tasks his administration with increasing competition among health care insurers, a move very likely to drive younger people out of the insurance marketplace entirely and driving up costs across the board. The second, announced late Thursday night, stops the federal subsidies being paid to insurance companies to incentivize them to cover lower-income Americans.

The key to understanding Trump's motivations here are entirely contained in the ACA's shorthand nickname: Obamacare. It's named after the man -- former President Barack Obama (duh) -- who shepherded it into existence. And that's exactly why Trump wants to get rid of it.

Trump's entire political life -- dating all the way back to his adoption of birtherism earlier this decade -- is positioned against all things Obama. Why? Because for many Trump supporters in this country, Obama -- and his beliefs about society and government -- were the antithesis of what they believed. (Yes, Obama's race -- and multicultural vision of the country and the world -- were part of that mix as well.)

The best way to distinguish yourself in Republican politics during Obama's time in office was to position yourself against, literally, everything about Obama -- up to and including his legitimacy to be president due to fact-free claims about where he was born....

    1. These executive actions undermining the ACA are going to be taken to court and Trump is going to LOSE.

You can’t change a LAW with an executive action. Congress has failed over and over to change the ACA. Trump can’t DICTATE what he wants. He is not a DICTATOR.

      He is a Loser.

It is time for the American people to DEMAND that the republican force the resignation of this dangerous person and situation. It is entirely their mess and now crime. Nothing the republicans can say or do but get that bum out of the building and restore order.

      Yeah, right.

Since when has the GOP done anything the people demand? I think the figure was 85% in favor of closing the loopholes in the Brady bill after the Connecticut murders. What did they do? Failed to pass it.

Getting that idiot out of office would be the RIGHT thing to do. They have plenty of ammunition. There is no way in hell they will do a damned thing unless he actually pushes the button. And then it would be too late.

OT I just heard Trump’s speech. I can not wait for my “massive tax cut” for the American people that his audience cheered! Such BS but darn he is a master of telling people what they want to hear. Yeah this year we can with Trump’s permission say Merry Christmas again! I honestly pity those who believed they could not say Merry Christmas any more or put up a nativity scene. Did they live Hannity or Rush Limbaugh a king decreed they could not.

Just saying Trump sounded like a King, a ruler making decrees for his subjects to follow. I wondered if his audience who applauded know what regulations he cut. I almost laughed at how super religious Trump spoke as if he had morphed into a different person. IMO most people are uninformed blind followers to stupid.

    1. Notice they keep saying corporate tax and businesses. That’s because they are the only ones getting a break. The rest of us will see INCREASES.

That’s why that stupid Walleye Huckleberry kept inserting “corporate” into the tax rate reply when the reporters kept calling on them about the LIE we have the highest tax rates. What a piece of shit she is.

  6. I am nearly 80 and have never been more frightened for our country. I will not be here to suffer the long term consequences of the reign of King Donald. During world war 2 I remember the Italian despot posing like trump does with his head up and a grimace on his face. The italians finally took him out and hung him upside down. I am hoping we do not have to come to that to liberate our country from this "fashit".

    4. He didn't decertify.

He failed to certify despite all reports the Iranians met all of the criteria, as they have been doing.

Trump has invented some invisible arbitrary "heart" of intention bullshit. And he hasn't done anything but passed the buck to Congress to recertify.

If they defy him and do it, then we'll see how he reacts.

Last year when Trump "won that election" I almost died from shock. That must have been how it was for the White conservatives and the KKK when Obama won the first time. A shock.
By December of this year Donald will have picked a fight with a few other American institutions just like Vladdy told him to. To break down our supposed cohesiveness as a United States. Vlad is smiling so bright about his that his balding head just shines. He has found our weak spot. Americans were never United but our institutions kept us connected. Now we going down. What a meany you are Vlad. Hope you die soon.

I do believe he is a fucking moron. A sociopath. A malignant narcissist. An emotionally stunted man-boy BULLY who is extremely vindictive. He is basically a damage human, mean, nasty, cruel, evil, racist, misogynist, bigoted.

He isn't Dorian Gray but the painting.

If this were the middle ages he would be "the devil" and eventually he would be brought down, drawn, quartered, hung and left to rot, then his carcass would be torn apart and fed to the dogs.

That actually doesn't sound bad at all. You think it would be a reasonable sentence after his impeachment trial finds him guilty?
