First lady Melania Trump voyaged to the Detroit suburbs Monday to speak to middle school students and participate in a 'No One Eats Alone' anti-bullying event, which the Michigan school was participating in.
'I encourage you to find a new friend and eat with your new friend,' the first lady told students at Orchard Lake Middle School in West Bloomfield. 'Ask them what they like, what their hobbies are so nobody becomes sad or stressed and everybody feels included,' she instructed.
FLOTUS was there as part of National Bullying Prevention Month and kicked off what the White House is calling the 'Week of Inclusion,' with the 'No One Eats Alone' event aiming to get students to reach out to their peers to make sure everyone has someone to sit with at lunch.
Her husband is constantly bullying folks, including Gold Star families, on Twitter, he insulted his primary opponents and Hillary Clinton on a personal basis during the 2016 election cycle, and he is accused of multiple cases of sexual harassment and even rape, and yet this enabler of his sees nothing hypocritical in telling OTHERS to stand up to bullying?

It certainly cannot be good for the youngest Trump to be around his verbally violent, mean and aggressive father. In the northern Detroit suburbs, the third wife was nowhere near "inner city kids" or their problems. Michelle Obama always went to the heart of the matter; the third wife skirts it, avoiding any direct contact if possible.
DeleteAnd I'm not sure if telling a child who has been bullied on and on to make a new friend, ask this person they don't know about his/her hobbies. It just sounds like an invitation to be bullied all the more. I'm not even sure it would work well for a child, not the bullied one but a scared bystander to bullying, to intervene on behalf of a bullied child. As usual, the third wife is not quite on target with what she is espousing to a classroom of kids, most of whom are not sure at all of their place in the classroom hierarchy.
Way back when, during my own childhood, those of us who were really shy, became friendly with one another in order not to be left alone on the playground. I don't think there was a lot of bullying per se going on (well, maybe among the boys) but there certainly was a great divide between the "popular" (and usually better off financially) kids and the rest of us.

West Bloomfield is upper middle class, with diversity. We voted for Obama. Yes, Oakland County is the wealthiest county in the state however that doesn't mean it voted for Trump.
