Thanks to Donald Trump the number of Americans without health insurance is now on the rise.

Courtesy of Think Progress:

Providing some of the clearest evidence yet about President Donald Trump’s ability to undermine Obamacare even without the GOP votes in Congress required to officially repeal it, the national uninsurance rate is now on the rise.

According to Gallup, which has been tracking the uninsurance rate since 2008, the percentage of Americans without health care has been gradually ticking up since Trump was elected.

The uninsured rate had been on a steady downward trajectory since the Affordable Care Act was implemented, hitting historic lows over the past several years. But Gallup’s most recent report, released Friday, found the uninsured rate has risen 1.4 percentage points since the end of 2016. That works out to be almost 3.5 million more Americans going without insurance this year.

As the Associated Press reports, “the increase in the number of uninsured is more striking because it comes at a time of economic growth and low unemployment.”

Well of course the number of uninsured is on the rise, that is what happens when you sabotage Obamacare.

And now Trump owns this. Can't really blame Obama if you have actively been working to undermine the program that he created to increase access to health care.

Now can you?

I wonder if those low income Trump supporters are tired of winning yet?

I wish the Japanese would be a little more subtle. Trump is liable to jump the gun and attack North Korea with no real provocation. Nasty talk from the Leader should not count as provocation.

When 401(k) plans began, employers were obligated to contribute to them. Now they're not. It's a good way to save but people should have other savings as well.

Who in the hell created that stupid logo with Trump's profile and helmet hair blowing in the wind? What an unbelievable ego for someone who can't do anything right. Tillerson was right - Trump is a fucking moron.

I'm sure that Hillary Clinton is well protected. She is no idiot as to the way Trump operates.

I can envision Trump putting contracts out on opponents due to being involved w/the mob in New York City for many years (per reports on his history throughout the past years).

I would not be surprised to learn that many members of the mob do not like or trust Trump!

I just read that the budget just passed by the House includes about $500 billion in cuts to Medicare and similar cuts to Medicaid. 21st century Republicans think that we should all get ready to die soon, I guess. I can't wait to see my doctor later this week to ask her what she thinks of all of this. The last time I saw her, four months ago, she was opposed to any kind of "socialized" medicine. I wonder how she'll feel when most of her elderly patients (and most patients in this practice are senior citizens like me) lose many of their Medicare benefits and when their supplemental insurance rates become exorbitant. We live in dangerous times to be sure.

$IN-clair: "rumblings that the FCC will soon consider further deregulation of its duopoly rule and ownership cap—changes that could unleash yet more consolidation on the airwaves. Which, according to Ripley, is precisely what Sinclair wants. “We think the industry needs to consolidate to two or three large broadcasters, and really just one to two strong local players in each market,” he told shareholders in August. If the FCC rolls back the regulations, he said, it could create “significant savings” for companies like Sinclair—while allowing them to spread their message to more Americans than ever before."
