Widow of slain soldier backs up Congresswoman's version of "condolence" call while Donald Trump essentially calls them both liars.

This is from Myesha Johnson's interview on Good Morning America this morning.

She also confirmed that the Congresswoman's version of the phone call was "100% correct."
However Donald Trump could simply not let that stand.
And no, that is NOT how Rep. Wilson, and now the widow, characterized that phone call.

Which essentially means that Donald Trump is calling them liars.

Speaking of liars apparently now Gold Star families are finally receiving rush delivered condolence letters from the White House after Trump publicly claimed that he had reached out to "all of the families."

Gee, what a smooth cover up.

Rep Wilson was 100% correct. We can expect Trump to be the jerk he is, I don't see an apology coming. He only made things worse when he had a former general, current CoS come out and attack Rep Wilson with his blatant lie.

Myeshia Johnson, Rep Wilson, Senators and everyone else needs to know what happened to La David Johnson.

We all need to know what is going on in Nigeria? Why so secret?

The White House is going to allow Trump to call a grieving Army widow a liar, and do nothing to try to make the situation right. This is such an easy fix. If Trump wasn’t a heartless sociopath, he could apologize for his poor choice of words, but this White House doesn’t apologize. They specialize in taking bad situations and making them worse by doubling and tripling down on their lies and previous comments.

The wife and family of La David Johnson deserve an apology.

The President Of The United States should never speak to the family of a person who sacrificed their life for their country in the way that Trump spoke to Myeshia Johnson. More Gold Star families who have been neglected, disrespected or ignored by Trump need to speak out. Trump disrespected the Gold Star Khan family during the campaign, and now he has disrespected the Johnsons.

      They aren’t the only ones.

The White House is trying to bury this scandal, which is why patriots of all varieties need to speak out against the behavior of this president.

" “the president said that ‘he knew what he signed up for but it hurts anyways’ and it made me cry because I was very angry at the tone of his voice and how he said it.” She continued: “He couldn’t remember my husband’s name. The only way he remembered my husband’s name because he told me he had my husband’s report in front of him and that’s when he actually said La David. I heard him stumbling on trying to remember my husband’s name and that hurt me the most because if my husband is out here fighting for our country and he risks his life for our country, why can’t you remember his name?”"

When I hear that rhetoric, ‘he knew what he signed up for', I think of Pat Tillman. What I recall is he was very patriotic and signed up to fight for the USA and protect us believing all the recruiting hype.

When he was in Afghanistan he saw another version of things, he was killed, they say it was 'friendly fire'. He could never tell about his experiences in war and what he signed up for.
Basically he thought he knew what he signed up for, but in reality he didn't know what he signed up for.

It would help if a Gold Star widow could know what her husband was doing in Niger when he died and about his death. Our Senators don't even know about the 1000 troops. I doubt these men do actually know what they sign up for when the Arms Service Committee can't even know what is going on.

How many more places like this are happening now? How many troops think they know what they signed up for but in real life they don't know. The military is not that honest with anyone.

Trump wants to be able to say he is keeping his campaign promises. He likes stories like this: Trump: End of ISIS caliphate 'in sight' with Raqqa victory The president noted that one of his 'core' 2016 campaign promises was to knock out ISIS. http://www.politico.com/story/2017/10/21/trump-isis-raqqa-islamic-state-244023

He doesn't want The Armed Service Committee, Senators or others to know where all he is 'trying to knock out ISIS'. Where he is sending 1000s or more troops.

Trump could be sending 1000 troops to 1000 or more locations. Now each and all should be questioned as to, does anyone know what they sign up for?

Why did the Green Berets leave one of their own? Aren’t they sworn to leave no one behind? Or do they evacuate the light green berets and come back for the dark green ones when it’s convenient, or foist that off on the locals?

The entire situation stinks and needs to be fully exposed.

What a tangled web Trump weaves that others get drawn into or are the targets of his poisonous tweets.

Trump has no regard or respect for the feelings of others. He will never recognize nor acknowledge the widow and family felt upset by his words. Worse he has character assassinated everyone in the car then had Kelly go after them. The widow had a right to put the call on speaker phone. Kelly indirectly drew her in misportrating Wilson as listening in on a private conversation. The administration can not stop bluffing via lies, attack, lie and attack as Bill Maher accurately stated the pattern.
As the media reports they are also attacked.

Disengaging from the toxic dynamics Trump is delusional he won but he gets them to shut up which is his goal.

As if women and African Americans aren't allowed to make their own choice in voting? ie ownership.

And the current inference being pushed from many on the left, that ALL republicans ans ALL white people are racists, is going to backfire. Pure racial identity politics. It is a bad end game for the Democratic Party if that is all they have.

CNN takes aim at President Donald Trump and his TV surrogates’ lies in a stunning ad

In a stunning new ad campaign, CNN is lodging an attack at those claiming an apple is a banana.

“This is an apple,” the ad begins with a red apple on a white screen. “Some people might try to tell you it’s a banana. They might scream, ‘Banana, banana, banana,’ over and over again. They might put banana in all caps. You might even start to believe this is a banana. But it’s not. This is an apple.”

The words “facts first,” then flash on the screen before the CNN logo.

What Trump did to Kelly shows how far we have fallen

The United States is in the middle of a very unfortunate experiment in how disoriented a great nation can become before it loses its moorings entirely.

At times, politics seems fairly conventional with Republicans and Democrats arguing about health care and tax cuts, as they long have done. But former presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama reminded us last week that there is nothing normal about this moment. They issued searing, overlapping condemnations of Trumpism without naming President Trump. Former commanders in chief of opposing parties don’t do this sort of thing unless the country faces an emergency.

Our disorientation is reflected further in the way honorable men and women allow themselves to be pushed into defending the indefensible and twisting noble concepts into cheap and ultimately shameful talking points. These are designed to get the president through one more news cycle or around some controversy he could easily quell if he had any familiarity with the words “I’m sorry.”

In the realm of political commentary, the now-daily detonations set off by a man who sees the common good as the pursuit of suckers drown out any serious discussion of the problems his voters thought he might try to solve.

...We can try to resist being drawn into this swamp of petty invective, knowing that we are being pulled away from the consequential questions. Yet doing so would mean overlooking the central fact of our political situation: that Trump is systematically sapping our democratic capacities through his routine behavior. As Bush put it, “We have seen our discourse degraded by casual cruelty. . . . Argument turns too easily into animosity. Disagreement escalates into dehumanization.”

This is why all except the most blind Trump partisans had to be heartsick over the performance of White House Chief of Staff John F. Kelly on Thursday. The retired Marine Corps general, who devoted his life to service and suffered stoically when he lost a son in combat, stepped out as a hatchet man against Rep. Frederica S. Wilson...

His big lie is what he will be remembered for. If Trump keeps using him and puts his face in front of the American people he will only be less trusted and more loathed.
