California Congressman Ted Lieu walks out of moment of silence on the House floor to protest their do nothing approach to mass shootings. Sarah Palin smells blood in the water.

Courtesy of Raw Story:

“I am heartbroken about the children and adults that were killed in the worst mass shooting in Texas history this Sunday," Lieu said. "My colleagues right now are doing a moment of silence in the House of Representatives chambers. I respect their right to do that, and I myself have participated in many of them, but I can’t do this again. I’ve been to too many moments of silence."

At least 26 people were killed at the church in Sutherland Springs, Texas, Sunday after a gunman opened fire. Lieu said since he has been a congressman, three of the worst mass shootings in United States history have occurred.

“I will not be silent,” he said. “What we need, is we need action, we need to pass gun safety legislation now.”

When I first read about this yesterday, which I consider an act of courage by the way, I knew that Lieu was going to be dinged by the conservatives.

And when it comes to dings, who better to provide those than the former head conservative dingbat herself?
Oh my God, can you smell the indignation?

This is low hanging fruit for Palin so of course she is going to chime in.

Of course the translation of this tweet is "Please, please will somebody please pay attention to me? I use to BE somebody in this country, and now nobody even bothers to mock me anymore."

Rep. Lieu is a nice man, so he took a little time to give Palin a few nanoseconds of relevance.
By mocking her.

There you go Sarah. Now you can relax knowing that a sitting member of Congress cares enough to ridicule you for criticizing him.

Now that we have that our of the way let me just say that Rep. Lieu is exactly right.

Congress does NOT need yet another fucking moment of silence, or another fucking call for our prayers.

What they need to do is flip the NRA the bird and tell them that they can keep their campaign donations because the American people are dying in the streets by the hundreds and it is the job of Congress to protect them.

Yes! Also, too, many of us IM followers would not be surprised if Palin's son Track Menard was to ever shoot someone, possibly a family member.

How IS Track doing lately? Beaten up anyone? Working hard to support himself and his exs and his children?

How can anyone know all the beatings and shootings from the Palins? Most of the Valley will cover up for them. Including the police and hospitals. We don't know all the times guns are thrown at the small children, all the times Todd is beat or beats up on someone.

Track doesn't work. He is indulged and lives like a spoiled little prince.

sooner or later the cops and the neighbors will get sick of them. and if Track is as mentally ill as he seems to be maybe it's better he does'nt work. he'll kill some one, i'm sure. and it will be Hillary or Obama's fault because they don't understand that poor baby has ptsd and must be given money and understanding. i'm sure real suffers of ptsd are not pleased with him. these people need to grow up, get jobs, and understand their 15 minutes were up over a long time ago.

A moment of hypocritical silence is pointless. Just like Paul Ryan saying that prayer would solve all this -- when he says he's a devoted Ayn Rand fan, when Ayn Rand was a militant atheist, and would have thrown him out on his ear.

Donald Trump said "hundreds" would have been saved if that vigilante hadn't had a gun -- but there weren't hundreds more in that small country church. Dozens would have been saved if the Air Force had flagged him as a risk and he'd never been able to buy a gun in the first place -- he was a known threat to society.

Prayers don't work -- everyone in that church was praying. It's time to ACT and get the guns out of the hands of crazy people and criminals, to start with.

    “Niggers for life,” Schilling said.
"the electorate who resolutely approve of the job he is doing, the segment of voters who share his view that the Russia investigation is a “witch hunt” that “has nothing to do with him,” and who applaud his judicial nominees and his determination to gut the federal regulatory apparatus. But what I wasn’t prepared for was how readily these same people had abandoned the contract he had made with them. Their satisfaction with Trump now seems untethered to the things they once said mattered to them the most.
“I don’t know that he has done a lot to help,”
"nearly all people who voted for Trump would do it again."
"smiling and changing the subject with a quip. “If I was married to his wife,” Del Signore said, “I don’t think I’d go anywhere.”“Some of these things are like that thing he said to Billy, Billy Bob, Billy Bud”—searching, unsuccessfully, for the name Billy Bush—“on the bus, that comment he made.” Del Signore shrugged. “He’s a human male. I’m glad he wasn’t saying, ‘Hey, I like little boys.’ You know? So he’s not perfect.”
"If Obama, I asked, is the antichrist—whose arrival is said to precede the second coming of Christ—what would that make Trump?
    “The savior?” Del Signore suggested.

Not even Trump, though, can stop what’s coming, he added. “Just looking around, and putting two and two together, a little bit of business savvy, a little bit of street savvy, a little common sense, a little bit of education, you kind of deduct different things,” he told me. “I think we’re going to see the end of the world in our generation.”

After election backlash, Trump’s GOP is lost without a map

    http://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-show/after-election-backlash-trumps-gop-lost-without-map

The 2017 election is going to send Republicans into a total panic

Ed Gillespie's resounding loss in Tuesday's Virginia governor's race -- coupled with a series of other losses in lower-profile races around the country -- will likely take what was bubbling concern among Republicans about their prospects in the 2018 midterms and transform it into a frothing cauldron of panic.

That panic is born not from the fact of Gillespie's defeat but the way in which he lost -- and the role President Donald Trump and Trumpism played in that loss.
