Despite claims by Donald Trump that it is dead, Obamacare enrollment is way up.

You know I'm going to kill Obamacare. Wanna bet?
Courtesy of Newsweek:

The White House is trying kill Obamacare. Americans are throwing it a lifeline.

Despite the Trump Administration’s promises to “repeal and replace” the Affordable Care Act, enrollment for health insurance under the program is quite healthy with less than a month to go in the current sign-up period, according to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, a federal agency.

“In week three of Open Enrollment for 2018, 798,829 people selected plans using the HealthCare.gov platform,” the agency reported.

That brings the total number of enrollees in this period to 2.3 million, which is almost 900,000 people — or 64 percent — more than the number of customers who signed up during the first four weeks of enrollment in 2016, according to CNBC.

The figures included more than 566,000 new consumers and 1.7 million renewals, with total Healthcare.gov users exceeding 8.1 million.

And keep in mind this is without the Trump Administration doing a damn thing to help advertise this open enrollment.

It's almost as if the Obama Administration created a pretty good program that the American people want in their lives, and have come to rely on.

This country was showing signs of hope, progress and prosperity after Obama's election but Trump and the Republicanos always have to ruin a good thing.

They fuck it up every time! Under Clinton’s the economy was motoring along and there was a plan to eliminate the National Debt. Then comes Shrub to forget the debt and hand out tax breaks to the rich.

Yes, those republicans have forgotten that GW put a couple of wars on a "credit card" and passed the debt off to Obama.

    A joke going around:

The Pope and Donald Trump are on stage in front of a huge crowd.

The Pope leaned towards Trump and said, "Do you know that with one little wave of my hand I can make every person in this crowd go wild with joy? This joy will not be a momentary display, like that of your followers, but go deep into their hearts and for the rest of their lives whenever they speak of this day, they will rejoice!"

Trump replied, "I seriously doubt that. With one little wave of your hand? Show me!"

    So the Pope slapped him.

    --

Each person who signs up for ACA is doing the same thing: their own little "slap", like at an endless reception line with Trump standing there, having to take it...

Maybe they aren't advertising, but I have been getting emails and text messages a few times a week, also health insurance companies have been bombarding the TV.
Then we have that evil genius Jimmy Kimmel, whose promotion of trump care at healthcare.gov has the moronic trump supporters fooled.

It's pretty obvious he and the Republicans are not ruining as many things as they want to! (The biggest being President Obama!!!)

Thank God we had President Obama for two terms. We know what an outstanding POTUS is and Trump in no way fills the bill! He's a fucking, ugly, evil man that is despised throughout our country and world. History is not going to be good to him - where it will be to President Obama and VP Biden!

John Fugelsang posted the following yesterday. I thought I'd share it for IMers with staunch RW friends/family.

"Doom to you who legislate evil, who make laws that make victims — laws that make misery for the poor, that rob the destitute of their dignity, exploiting defenseless widows, taking advantage of homeless children” (Isaiah 10:1-4)."

"Violent confrontations with antifascists gave the Nazis a chance to paint themselves as the victims of a pugnacious, lawless left. They seized it."
" Voters and opposition politicians alike came to believe the government needed special police powers to stop violent leftists. Dictatorship grew attractive. The fact that the Nazis themselves were fomenting the violence didn’t seem to matter."
"a right extremist speaker came. He was met by a counterprotest. One of his supporters shot a counter-protester. On stage, in the moments after the shooting, the right extremist speaker claimed that his opponents had sought to stop him from speaking “by killing people.” The fact that it was one of the speaker’s supporters, a right extremist and Trump backer, who engaged in what prosecutors now claim was an unprovoked and premeditated act of violence, has never made national news." dRUMPf>" called the tens of thousands who gathered there to protest racism and Nazism “anti-police agitators,” though later, in a characteristic about-face, he praised them.

    Dead:
"a few days after the men were discovered, saying the agency was considering a
“potential assault on a federal officer.”
But then he seemed to hedge his bet.
“If the facts support that, then we would pursue it legally,” “If they support that the incident was caused by something else, then we’ll present that.”
“The injuries to [Martinez], after talking to his doctors, were consistent with a fall,” the sheriff told The Dallas Morning News. “Very consistent with a fall.”

"Fatal attacks on border agents are rare. CBP reports 38 agent deaths since 2003, not including Martinez, and many of them caused by non-criminal factors such as traffic accidents. The area near Van Horn is particularly inhospitable to both immigrants and drug smugglers due to desert conditions and mountainous terrain."

"The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office said that Jadlowski reported the shooting 40 minutes after sunset and noted that it’s against state law to hunt deer after the sun has gone down, according to the Buffalo News. So far, no charges have been filed, although law enforcement was still investigating the incident."

my insurance just went up $20.00 a month. good by cable. the heat is next to go. after, that, my comics(i've been collecting for 30 years, and just sold my best ones for dental work), and then, my cats. i'm poor, which means i don't deserve a life. i should be out in the street, where lazy people like me belong. i've spent my life cleaning other's people's toliets.
