Facebook is now going to let you find out if you were manipulated by Russian propaganda. Spoiler alert: You probably were.

Courtesy of Bloomberg:

Facebook Inc. will show people which Russian propaganda pages or accounts they’ve followed and liked on the social network, responding to a request from Congress to address manipulation and meddling during the 2016 presidential election.

The tool will appear by the end of the year in Facebook’s online support center, the company said in a blog post Wednesday. It will answer the user question, “How can I see if I’ve liked or followed a Facebook page or Instagram account created by the Internet Research Agency?” That’s the Russian firm that created thousands of incendiary posts from fake accounts posing as U.S. citizens. People will see a list of the accounts they followed, if any, from January 2015 through August 2017.

It’s Facebook’s most direct effort to explain to users how they may have been affected by the IRA’s postings, which reached an estimated 150 million people and stirred up controversy over gun rights, immigration, race relations and religion in the U.S., sometimes prompting real-world protests on both sides of a debate.

“It is important that people understand how foreign actors tried to sow division and mistrust using Facebook before and after the 2016 US election,” the company said in the post.

I know my headline seems a little assholey, but even if you did not participate on Facebook, friends and family members who you spoke to very likely did.

So while they were expressing their political point of view to you, it is quite likely, whether they were conservatives or liberals, that the Russians helped to influence it just a little.

I told you about that one friend at the gym who said that he saw a photo of Hillary Clinton standing among dead bodies that convinced him she was a war monger.

I never saw such a picture, and believe me I looked for it, but it still bothered me. It manipulated my emotions to some degree.

In the end if you did not vote for Hillary Clinton, which seems to have been the absolute focus of this propaganda, then it is more than likely that you were at least subliminally influenced by something the Russians sent out on social media.

What happens the if the user doesn't ask the question or is this automatic?
In the end it won't matter much, trump supporters aren't interested in the truth and will come up with some conspiracy that Hillary or Obama have secretly taken over Facebook.

    Raw Story:
Billy Baldwin burns Trump Jr: My wife ‘showed your dad’s a** the door’ after he crashed our party and hit on her

Actor Billy Baldwin on Thursday unleashed hell on Donald Trump Jr. for his mockery of the groping scandal surrounding Sen. Al Franken (D-MN).

In response to a Trump Jr. tweet that bashed Franken for allegedly grabbing women’s buttocks, Baldwin gave the eldest Trump son a taste of his own medicine by pointing out his father’s own sordid history of alleged sexual harassment.

“Your Dad is a 5th degree black belt when it comes to sexual impropriety allegations,” Baldwin wrote. “In fact… I once had a party at the Plaza Hotel… your father showed up uninvited and hit on my wife… invited her on his helicopter to Atlantic City. She showed his fat ass the door.”

"She told Winfrey that she first tried cocaine when she was 11 years old, and that her father had taken drugs with her, and had also injected her with cocaine.

During the interview, Phillips read excerpts from her book. She said that at the age of 19, on the night before her first wedding, "I woke up that night from a blackout to find myself having sex with my own father", and that when she confronted her father months later,[12] asking why he had raped her, her father simply replied, "Raped you? Don't you mean we made love?" "As I was writing the book, I thought, this word, it kept sitting wrong with me. But I used it for lack of a better word. Since then, I've been schooled by thousands of incest survivors all across the world that there really is no such thing as consensual incest due to the inherent power a parent has over a child. So, I wouldn't necessarily call it a consensual relationship at this time."

"Chynna Phillips, Mackenzie's half-sister and Michelle Phillips' daughter, stated that she believed Mackenzie's claims and that Mackenzie first told her about the relationship during a phone conversation in 1997, approximately 11 years after the supposed relationship had ended."

Am I the only one that thinks Facebook has jumped the shark? It used to be kinda fun; now it's cluttered -- I don't need to see what a "friend" replies to every last thing he/she is interested in nor likes and, as for political, I've taken most of that out of my feed. If it weren't for family, I'd delete my account all together.

I had to create a MySpace account to view some bullying posts on a student's account to intervene with a counselor but after that one encounter never went back. Not even sure if it's active any more as it's been over 10 years ago.

I was on Facebook for less than a month, about 10 years ago. I was appalled by the crap posted by my relatives and students (why would I want to be "friend" to a student?) I am crochety (and self-assured) enough that I don't need "friends". (I have actual friends.) Want to tell me something? Call me or send me a text, email or even (gasp) a letter. I'm happy and my family has adjusted well- they email if there's something I need to know.

So no one I know uses it. I dismiss crap people tell me unless I can verify it from a credible, reliable source.

EXCLUSIVE: WHAT TRUMP REALLY TOLD KISLYAK AFTER COMEY WAS CANNED

During a May 10 meeting in the Oval Office, the president betrayed his intelligence community by leaking the content of a classified, and highly sensitive, Israeli intelligence operation to two high-ranking Russian envoys, Sergey Kislyak and Sergey Lavrov. This is what he told them—and the ramifications.

‘Jared will flip like a pancake’ on Trump after Flynn gives him up, predicts Obama’s ethics czar

...“Flynn may or may not have dirt on the Prez, but he surely will roll over on (Kushner), who will flip like a pancake on daddy-in-law’s (obstruction),” Eisen tweeted. “They are gonna have to start frisking Jared for a wire in the Oval. Today is Cursegiving not Thanksgiving for POTUS.”

Eisen said he’d helped negotiate a cooperation deal with another target of a Mueller investigation, when the special counsel was a U.S. attorney, and he said that offered some insight into how a Flynn deal might work.

“Lemme tell ya, he’s not gonna give one to Flynn unless he implicates someone up the ladder,” Eisen said. “That means Kushner, Don Jr., or Big Daddy. They are all having indigestion tonight.”

‘It’s foolish to taunt the tiger’: CNN legal analyst gobsmacked by Don Jr heckling Mueller on social media

...During a panel discussion on the ongoing investigation into the Trump campaign’s ties to Russia, a CNN legal analyst said Donald Trump Jr. was not helping his case in any way, shape or form by posting “come at me!” at special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigators.

Earlier in the week, Trump Jr. took to Instagram to write “More nothing burgers from the media and others desperately trying to create a false narrative. Keep coming at me guys!!!” which CNN analyst Paul Callan compared to “going to the zoo with a steak in your hand.”

Mueller set a legal trap to prevent Trump from pardoning Flynn: ex-prosecutor

A former federal prosecutor explained why President Donald Trump should be worried about Mike Flynn’s possible cooperation with the special counsel — and why he may not be able to pardon his former national security adviser.

Flynn’s lawyers notified the president’s legal team Wednesday that they would no longer share information about the case, according to a New York Times report, and former prosecutor Renato Mariotti broke down what that means.

“Defense attorneys representing individuals that are under investigation typically agree to share information with each other about what they’ve learned from the government,” Mariotti tweeted.

“The government tries to reveal as little as possible about what it’s doing to the defense,” he added, “so defense attorneys try to glean as much as they can from their brief conversations with prosecutors and from the questions their clients are asked during interviews.”

‘Serious legal jeopardy for the president’: CNBC reporter says Flynn bombshell should make Trump sweat

Reacting to Thursday’s bombshell report that Flynn’s legal team has stopped sharing information with Trump’s legal team, Hardwood said that flipping Flynn would be a major coup for Mueller’s team, and would get them extremely close to Trump.

“I think it indicates that there’s serious legal jeopardy for the president of the United States,” said Harwood. “The underlying issue that Mueller is investigating is, did Russia interfere in the U.S. election with the cooperation of the Trump campaign — and if so, why?”

Harwood then explained that any major effort to collude with Russia almost certainly would have Flynn’s fingerprints on it, given his past history of making blatantly false statements about his contacts with Russian officials.

“One of the questions was, was the Trump administration suggesting they might limit sanctions in return for help from the Russians,” he explained. “Michael Flynn lost his job over lying about his conversation with the Russian ambassador, so this gets to the core of the case that Bob Mueller is pursuing.”

    6. According to Keith Olbermann, enough Trump voters have had a change of heart over the last year as to have flipped the vote for Hillary if they had simply stayed home or voted for a third party. Didn't even have to vote for her, just had to NOT vote for Trump.

Unfortunately, remorse doesn't get you a do-over and you have to live with what you voted for.

"According to Senator Joseph Biden, who pushed for the law to punish violence against women, "the single greatest danger to a woman's health is violence from men." Of course, the vast majority of men -- honorable men -- don't hurt women, and women aren't the only victims of violence. But the fact is, women are physically more vulnerable. We learn early that we must take extra precautions to protect ourselves.

We may be afraid of strangers, but it is the most intimate of strangers -- a husband, a lover, a friend -- who is most likely to hurt us. According to a U.S. Justice Department study, two-thirds of violent attacks against women are committed by someone the woman knows. Can we ever be too wary?

    A woman's worst nightmare?
Novelist Margaret Atwood writes that when she asked a male friend why men feel threatened by women, he answered, "They are afraid women will laugh at them." When she asked a group of women why they feel threatened by men, they said, "We're afraid of being killed.""
