Here is Barack Obama back doing Donald Trump's job for him.

Courtesy of Mother Jones:

The former president released a short video Wednesday encouraging people to sign up for insurance on the exchanges set up by the Affordable Care Act. In the absence of a major life event such as losing a job or getting married, people who don’t get insurance from their employer or the government only get one shot each year to sign up on these exchanges. “It only takes a few minutes,” Obama says in the video, “and the vast majority of people qualify for financial assistance. In fact, eight in 10 people this year can find plans for $75 a month or less. That’s cheaper than a lot of cell phone plans.”

In order for the markets to work correctly, a wide mix of people need to sign up for insurance. If only sick people do so, premiums will shoot up and become unaffordable. But Trump has been doing everything in his power to sabotage Obamacare and depress the number of people who sign up for coverage during open enrollment. The president cut the enrollment period in half, from 12 weeks to just six, and sharply reduced funding for groups that help people sign up for coverage.

On the same day that Obama's tweet was published, Cheeto Fuhrer tweeted this:
Okay first off that does not even make any sense, and secondly...shut the fuck up.

Just hearing Barack Obama's voice again makes me feel hopeful, but then I am forced to remember that the grownup as left the building leaving only the toddler in charge.

I don't understand how we could have almost been there and now this. How could we have 8 years of wonderful hope, and then this horrible nightmare. It's so horrible. And to make matters worst every day we have to hear that dotard on the tv mouthing off his ignorant rants against America. Why? Why?

Turn off FOX, MSBNBC and CNN that continually show Donald spewing his hate and division. It will lower your blood pressure if you don't subject yourself to any coverage of the jerk currently occupying the wh!

"Up until this week, this penetration had gone undetected by President Donald Trump’s company, according to several internet security researchers."
"In 2013, a hacker (or hackers) apparently obtained access to the Trump Organization’s domain registration account and created at least 250 website subdomains that cybersecurity experts refer to as “shadow” subdomains. Each one of these shadow Trump subdomains pointed to a Russian IP address, meaning that they were hosted at these Russian addresses."
"The subdomains and their associated Russian IP addresses have repeatedly been linked to possible malware campaigns, having been flagged in well-known research databases as potentially associated with malware."
"All of the legitimate Trump Organization domains and the suspected subdomains were registered through GoDaddy. "
"There’s two possible situations as I see it. Either they set up their own domain records to point at servers hosted in St. Petersburg, Russia…or someone else did. "

There is a piece on Huffington Post about the megadoners that want to blow up the system. It's sad to see how rich people are playing with our country. They want instant gratification for their Elysium while we have to put up with their bullshit because of our low bank accounts. If I had power, I would null and void the green back just to show who is tough enough. Honestly, without their money, the billionaires would wither away.

Panicked Trump might have just committed obstruction of justice on Twitter

As the special counsel moves in, Trump is frantically using social media to threaten people he fears are cooperating with investigators. Only one problem: that could also be a crime.

... SYKES: I find it truly amazing, in the year of many amazing things, that Donald Trump is continuing to tweet about this after we know that Papadopoulos has been flipped. After we know he may have worn a wire. After Mueller has all of this data. And after we know that Trump himself may be investigated for obstruction of justice. So what is he doing? He is attacking a cooperating witness in an ongoing criminal investigation, which I understand we’ve had many amazing and remarkable things, but that is definitely not normal and it’s not smart. I cannot believe his lawyers are not pitching a fit.

WALLACE: Jeremy Bash, you’re a lawyer. Let me ask you to weigh in.

BASH: Charlie is right. That’s a form of obstruction of justice. He’s trying to intimidate Papadopoulos and say, hey, guy, don’t testify against me, there’ll be hell to pay.

Robert Mueller's not the only one zeroing in on the Russian hacking story. The Department of Justice is too — and that's more bad news for the White House.

Trump is going down and I think he is intentionally assisting in his demise. I think he hates being potus because he is not used to seeing that he is not liked or respected by the majority, has horribly low ratings and dislikes the anger and hate directed at him by Americans and world leaders!

In business, he was the sole person making all the decisions and if someone didn't like it, he'd fire them (albeit there were few, if any fired, since his family members were his 'board' members.

Democrats Just Sued for Trump Hotel Documents

After being previously rebuffed by the agency in charge of the D.C. Trump hotel lease, House Democrats are taking their fight to federal court.

...The suit is signed by 17 members of the committee and is addressed to Timothy O. Horne, the acting administrator of the General Services Administration, the agency responsible for leasing the Old Post Office Building, in which the hotel is located.

“This hotel is not just a building with Donald Trump’s name on it,” ranking member Elijah Cummings (D-MD) said in a statement. “It is a glaring symbol of the Trump administration’s lack of accountability and a daily reminder of the refusal by Republicans in Congress to do their job. This may be standard operating procedure in foreign countries—but not here. Not in America.”

Calling Donald the Dotard a toddler is actually complementary to him and insulting to toddlers. This country is very, very lucky that Barack Obama cares enough to do the Dotard's job for him during times like this when he fails miserably. After the way the Obama family was treated so poorly while he was in office, I wouldn't blame him if he told everyone to kiss his ass.

Ex-FBI Official: Mueller Probe 'Has Penetrated The White House'

"This is a sign that he's penetrated into the White House. These are the people who were savvy, in meetings, privy to knowledge, for example, Reince Priebus was White House chief of staff when Trump decided to fire FBI Director James Comey. What does he know about that? What does he know about Michael Flynn -- and who knew what when?

"But let me tell you something, the appearance of [communications director][/communications] Hope Hicks and the likelihood she's about to be interviewed when he returns from a foreign trip with the president should worry President Trump perhaps more than anything else," Figluzzi said.

    Hayes wanted to know why.

Among other recommendations in the USDA report, including creating more exclusions to the National Environmental Policy Act, was the recommendation to revise the current ban on new mining claims in the national forest lands that surround Grand Canyon National Park."

Why not? First of all, they're making the national parks too expensive for ordinary people and then they'll poison what visitors are left by mining and clear cutting the forests. Trump is not a fan of nature.

Trump has never been to any National Park. I'm sure he'd look at the Grand Canyon and be thinking about how he could fill that big hole in the ground and build a bunch of condos.

Post-ABC poll: Most Americans approve of Trump-Russia probe, and nearly half think Trump committed a crime

More than twice as many Americans approve as disapprove of special counsel Robert S. Mueller III’s investigation of possible coordination between Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign and the Russian government, a new Washington Post-ABC News poll finds, indicating that the conservative effort to discredit the probe has fallen flat as the case has progressed toward its first public charges.

A 58 percent majority say they approve of Mueller’s handling of the investigation while 28 percent say they disapprove, the Post-ABC poll finds. People’s views depend in large part on their political leanings, but overall, Americans are generally inclined to trust Mueller and the case he has made so far.

Meanwhile, fewer than 4 in 10 Americans say they believe Trump is cooperating with Mueller’s investigation, while about half believe he is not.

Convicted Trump Campaign Advisor Met Presidents of Cyprus, Greece & UAE

Convicted Trump Campaign advisor George Papadopoulos has been downplayed by the White House as a “liar” and insulted by Trump’s surrogates as a “coffee boy,” but in reality held meetings with three major heads of state, one coming years before the campaign on an island made famous for Russian money laundering.

The stunning news on Monday of his guilty plea and cooperation with Robert Mueller’s Special Counsel investigation has shaken Washington, D.C. after his numerous Russian contacts and attempts to set up a Trump/Putin meeting were revealed.

  18. Trump has reduced the number of days to sign up, he's limited the available hours of the on-line website. He's cut the budget for advertising so it is virtually non-existent and he's cut the budget for hiring navigators to help people sign up.

    But Obama steps up.

    https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/obama-vets-plan-health-insurance-sign-up-campaign-because-trump-wont_us_59d41c34e4b04b9f9205ecc6?section=us_politics

"If the Trump administration isn’t going to try to sell Obamacare to consumers this year, these Obama administration veterans are ready to step in.

Two former officials who worked on the sign-up campaigns for the Affordable Care Act’s health insurance exchanges when Barack Obama was president launched an initiative Wednesday called Get America Covered. In essence, it seeks to stand in for a federal government that, under President Donald Trump, is dramatically scaling back efforts to get the word out that enrollment season is about to begin."

"The Department of Health and Human Services has slashed the advertising budget for this year’s sign-up campaign by 90 percent, despite evidence that television advertising is the most effective way to encourage people to seek out more information and eventually enroll. The Trump administration also cut funding for enrollment assistance groups by 40 percent, with some groups getting hit much harder, which will leave many consumers without help navigating the complex process of choosing a health insurance policy.

The Department of Health and Human Services has also barred regional federal officials from participating in local sign-up efforts. Additionally, the administration halved the length of the open enrollment period, which will be just six weeks this year, and will take HealthCare.gov offline for as much as 12 hours every Sunday during that month-and-a-half.

Under Trump, the Department of Health and Human Services has gone so far as to spend money intended for public education about health insurance enrollment on materials criticizing the Affordable Care Act as part of the administration’s push to repeal the law. And shortly after Trump took office, his administration halted advertising planned for the 2017 sign-up period, likely contributing to lower enrollment this year compared with 2016."

2017 was the turning point. This year the exchanges finally stabilized. But Trump has undone all of that and 2018 promises to be a shitstorm.
