Syria to sign Paris Climate agreement leaving only the United States out in the cold.

Courtesy of the New York Times:

Syria announced during United Nations climate talks on Tuesday that it would sign the Paris agreement on climate change. The move, which comes on the heels of Nicaragua signing the accord last month, will leave the United States as the only country that has rejected the global pact.

According to several people who were in a plenary session at the climate talks in Bonn, Germany, a Syrian delegate announced that the country was poised to send its ratification of the Paris agreement to the United Nations.

“This is the very last country that actually announced, so everyone has joined and the U.S. is now so isolated,” said Safa Al Jayoussi, executive director of IndyAct, an environmental organization based in Lebanon that works with Arab countries on climate change.

A White House spokeswoman, Kelly Love, pointed reporters to a statement the administration made when Nicaragua joined the pact, noting there had been no change in the United States’ position.

“As the president previously stated, the United States is withdrawing unless we can re-enter on terms the are more favorable for our country,” the statement said.

And then there was one.

One arrogant despot, too ignorant and self absorbed to make an obvious choice that is good for his country as well as his planet.

I am almost too ashamed for words.

The fucker! Why aren't members of Congress getting rid of him? Where is the Democratic party - where is their action? Americans need to rise up and fight Trump and Republicans! He and members of the U.S. Congress are literally ruining our country right before our very eyes!

Walked out:"“I am heartbroken about the children and adults that were killed in the worst mass shooting in Texas history this Sunday," Lieu said. "My colleagues right now are doing a moment of silence in the House of Representatives chambers. I respect their right to do that, and I myself have participated in many of them, but I can’t do this again. I’ve been to too many moments of silence."
      “I will not be silent,” he said. “What we need, is we need action, we need to pass gun safety legislation now.”Lieu called for universal background checks, a ban on assault rifles and a ban on bump stocks.       "be ashamed of himself." {FUCK U $ara}

"Feel free to call me names because I'm cool like that," Lieu fired back. "But I will keep fighting for gun safety. Unlike you I don't quit."

Of course! Trump good so Obama bad therefore if Obama made the agreement then it is bad. Good, smart Trump did the opposite to prove Obama is stupid according to Trump’s no factual polar thinking aka cognitive dysfunction.

Trump probably is proud as the head of our country that he is right and all the countries that committed to the Climate Agreement are wrong!

    1. Man, he looks almost normal.

But his hair, like he buildings and interior decorating style, is firmly stuck in the 1980s.

His brain is stuck in the 1880s.

This tells me Drumpf wants the ability to make money on the deal for himself. Then he will sign back on.

Did no one tell him that compliance was voluntary? Does he know what voluntary means? Will long, lean lanky John save Sweet Sue in the mine? Stay tuned for for thrilling adventures of as the Drumpf screws.

    2. He'd sign as long as the U.S. doesn't have to actually DO anything or meet any sorts of clean air/water goals.

What an embarrassment he is! Our standing in the world is a joke now.

  7. I KNEW this would happen. In fact, I said as much way back when Trump first pulled out. They listed the other countries that hadn't agreed and I said they'd sign on just to rub Trump's nose in it.

And now Syria has signed on and Trump has left the U.S. out in the cold as the only major country (no longer a world power) to sign on.

I hope he's happy. He held his breath until he turned blue, stamped his widdle feet, but still, no one would give him what he wanted. They took their balls and went home, leaving him alone in the rain on that pitcher's mound.

What a dumb, stupid fuck he is.

Now he's trying to negotiate separately with each Asian country for a deal that will be worse than TPP, while they are all negotiating a TPP minus the U.S. behind his back.

Dumb, STUPID Fuck. Excuse me. Dumb, STUPID Fucking Moron.

  8. In other news, Jeff Sessions is finally dropping the (second) trial against the woman who laughed at him.

    https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/laughing-jeff-sessions-case-dropped_us_5a00f081e4b0368a4e868e0c?ncid=inblnkushpmg00000009

"Justice Department prosecutors have dropped their case against a woman who laughed at now-Attorney General Jeff Sessions during his confirmation hearing. Desiree Fairooz was scheduled to face trial for a second time next week, but a DOJ prosecutor entered a nolle prosequi filing in the case on Monday indicating the department is dismissing the charges.

Fairooz, a retired children’s librarian and demonstrator affiliated with the organization Code Pink, let out a laugh during a Senate hearing back in January after Sen. Richard Shelby (R-Ala.) said Sessions had a “clear and well-documented” record of “treating all Americans equally under the law.” (Sessions had faced strong opposition from civil rights organizations and was rejected as a federal judge in the 1980s over concerns about his past comments on race.)"

Yes, it looks like our Constitutional right to laugh in public has been restored. For the moment. Of course, Trump is out of the country right now.

"Taking Fairooz to trial for a second time would have put prosecutors in a bit of an uncomfortable spot. In tossing out the jury’s verdict, Judge Morin made clear that the government could not argue that laughter was enough to support a charge. That essentially meant that the government would be forced to concede as part of the case against Fairooz that Capitol Hill Police Officer Katherine Coronado was wrong to place Fairooz under arrest, but that Fairooz should face charges because she loudly objected to her wrongful arrest and made political statements as she was being escorted from the room."

They'd have to say she had no right to verbally object to false arrest. Yeah, that would play really well. Especially with a white, female retired children's librarian.

When third world dictatorships such as Syria and Nicaragua are more concerned about the climate than is your President, then you know that something has gone terribly wrong.

    2. Even Saudi Arabia is more concerned about the climate and fossil fuels. One of their princes just finded an LED light program in Jordan along with a solar program. This because they can't rely on other power sources due to political instability regarding ISIS and other terrorists.

So you've got China and Saudi Arabia recognizing climate change and increasing their solar energy resources and what is President Fucking Moron doing?

Renegotiating TPP to end up in a worse position than we would have been if he had just signed the fucking bill. He wants to renegotiate the Paris Accord to be more favorable to the U.S.? That's not the point! That's not what it's for!

      Dumb, STUPID, fucking moron.

"A bipartisan energy bill being considered this week seeks to strip presidents of their authority to protect marine ecosystems and make it far easier for oil and gas companies to obtain permits to incidentally harm and kill marine mammals.

Introduced by House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) and others, the measure has been dubbed the “Strengthening the Economy with Critical Untapped Resources to Expand American Energy Act,” or “SECURE American Energy Act.” At more than 50 pages, it reads like a lengthy wish list of big oil, and is the latest in a series of actions by the Trump administration and congressional lawmakers that prioritize energy development over species conservation.

The proposal includes a hodgepodge of provisions aimed at expanding access to energy resources, namely fossil fuels; distributing revenues from offshore oil and gas leases to several coastal states; and handing over regulatory authority to states to manage oil and gas development on federal lands within their borders. Another provision would nullify an Obama-era safeguard for exploratory drilling in the Arctic.

Raúl Grijalva (D-Ariz.), the ranking member of the House Natural Resources Committee, told HuffPost on Tuesday that his Republican colleagues “won’t be happy until the oil and gas industry owns every square inch of our public lands and waters, and this bill doesn’t even try to hide it.”"
