FBI Deputy Director set to retire after blistering attack from Republicans and Twitter tirade from Donald Trump.

Courtesy of Vox:

The reason Trump is so angry goes back to a long-running controversy over McCabe’s wife’s allegedly compromising political ties to Hillary Clinton. In 2015, McCabe’s wife ran for a state Senate seat in Virginia, backed in part with money provided by the state Democratic party and a Clinton ally — the “Clinton Puppets” in Trump’s first tweet. Trump and other Republicans have used this probe to argue that McCabe is secretly harboring an anti-Republican agenda.

The reason it’s coming now, despite this having been known for over a year, is that McCabe’s name surfaced in a controversial text message sent by FBI agent Peter Strzok, who was recently removed from Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia probe over evidence of anti-Trump political bias. Strzok had mentioned someone named “Andy” in a text message with federal attorney Lisa Page, seeming to suggest there was a discussion about Trump — and not a positive one — in McCabe’s office.

These revelations have led a number of prominent Republicans in Congress to outright call for McCabe’s firing.

“He oughta be replaced. And I’ve said that before and I’ve said it to people who can do it,” Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) told reporters earlier in the week. Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC), chair of the House Oversight Committee, went even further during a Fox News appearance on Tuesday, suggesting that McCabe would likely be gone in the next week.

But there is little evidence so far that McCabe harbors some kind of personal vendetta against the president, let alone any evidence that it’s affecting his job performance.

All of the reasons given above for this coordinated attempt to push McCabe out seem legitimate, and they may in fact be the reasons, but I tend to think there might be another reason.

Courtesy of The Hill:

FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe testified before the House Intelligence Committee that former FBI Director James Comey told him about conversations he had with President Trump, including Trump’s request for loyalty, according to a new report.

CNN reports that McCabe told lawmakers during his testimony this week that Comey told him about conversations he had with Trump after they occurred.

McCabe told the committee that Comey also told him about Trump’s request for loyalty, according to CNN’s Manu Raju.

McCabe was one of the few people that James Comey confided in after having that bizarre meeting with Trump, during which he was asked to back off the Flynn investigation, and to pledge his loyalty to Trump.

In other words McCabe's testimony offers proof that Trump engaged in obstructionism.

Trump can't let that guy stick around, now can he?

Of course it might be a little too late, since obviously McCabe has already shared this information with investigators. And could continue to do so whether he stays in the FBI or not.

Good for McCabe. I totally support the man! May Donald Trump soon bite the dust and be impeached. Only smart thing to do for our country to save it!

"No president in recent history has spent his Christmas Eve openly worrying if the FBI and Special Counsel are coming to get him. Make no mistake about it. More than poisoning the well against the FBI, Trump is scared, and he is terrified of the facts that the press is reporting about the Russia scandal.

It is Christmas, and instead of enjoying the holiday, Trump is falling apart on Twitter over the Russia scandal."

McCabe can still testify whether he's working at the FBI or not. Cheeto Hitler is too stupid to realize that.

According to the things I have read, McCabe was talking about retirement a few months ago and just wants to hang in until he can get his full pension.

What's with the "90 days" veiled threat? I absolutely loathe this POS, and say so on Christmas Eve no less.

As for the $700K, how much money have YOU pilfered/laundered into your accounts, dotard?

Trump and his surrogates have completely turned this issue around. Actually, investigations need BOTH supporters and opposers involved, in order to be fair. Trump & Fox have everyone believing that Trump should only be investigated by Republicans, and Democrats don't challenge this!

If you must choose between one side or the other, surely investigation by supporters alone is the MOST likely to be corrupted and the LEAST fair of all. Why don't the Democrats point this out??

"well before the passage of this tax cut, The Economist reported, as part of its cover story, that corporate profits in the United States were in fact enjoying record performance."
$o, given this record corporate performance in terms of profit generation, we should have already seen corporations raising wages, expending monies in capital and infrastructure investment, and showering generous bonuses on its employees."These are not left-wing anti-capitalist ideologues doing this reporting. These are business journalists.
And these business journalists are just reporting the facts validated by the history of capitalism’s dynamics. The end game of corporate behavior is to increase profits, not to give money away charitably because they have it. In fact, corporations often push to lower wages and benefits to increase profits."
" Capitalists understand that corporate profits don’t determine wages but rather the dynamics of labor supply and demand do."
"a scenario would defy the logic of capitalism, as Carrier and Mar-a-Lago demonstrate"

Trump’s angry tweets about FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe, explained

To understand the GOP crusade against McCabe, we need to turn back the clock to 2015.

Donald Trump is perhaps the biggest “sore winner” in American history. In the year-plus since he committed treason to rig the election in his favor, he’s spent most of his time whining about how he didn’t get enough credit for his fake victory, even while blaming everyone in sight. So it’s not shocking that he’s still whining on Christmas Eve. But when you take a look at what he’s whining about today, it becomes clear that he knows he’s toast.

Trump woke up on Christmas Eve morning, surrounded by those who pretend to love him, tucked away at his own fraudulently funded golf resort, with perfect weather and holiday cheer all around, and the first thing he thought to tweet about was Hillary Clinton and the FBI. We all know why. He rigged the election against Hillary, yet he still lost to her by three million votes, and his malignant narcissism won’t let him accept it. More importantly, Trump knows the FBI is closing in on him, and he’s headed to prison.

Trump has continued to spend the rest of Christmas Eve posting panicked, defensive, angry, whiny, and hallucinatory tweets. He’s insisting that his small and shrinking base is somehow much larger than it is, even as his approval rating sinks further into historically low territory. He’s insisting that ObamaCare is despised, when in fact the numbers reveal it’s more popular than ever. Trump can’t handle the fact that he’s a failed president who couldn’t come close to matching the black guy who came before him, in terms of accomplishments or popularity. For an extreme racist like Trump, there’s nothing worse than realizing he’s inferior to a black guy.

But Donald Trump’s tweets about the FBI are how we know that he knows he’s toast. No sitting president ever begins publicly threatening the pension of the Deputy Director of the FBI unless he knows the FBI is in range of taking him down for his crimes. Trump is guilty of conspiracy against the United States, obstruction of justice, money laundering, espionage and treason. He’s only attacking the FBI because he knows the FBI is going to nail him. Trump is toast and he knows it.

  17. What do you want to bet they fire him so he can't get his full benefits? That's the model they hope to spread throughout corporate AmeriKKKa. They'll rescind protections for workers so you can be fired right before you cost them money. Before you get any retirement benefits. Before you get health benefits. Before you qualify for vacation time. Before you are a permanent employee.

That's what Walmart was doing. Full time gets you health benefits so they have their workers working 38 hour weeks instead of 40 hour weeks.

The schools are already doing it. They hire a teacher, then right before their contract is renewed for the Xth time to qualify them as a permanent employee, that contract is not renewed and they're out.

If it takes three years to qualify for a vacation, you're fired at 2 years, 11 months. You qualify for retirement at 60? You're fired at 59 and 11 months.

Employers find all sorts of ways to cheat their employees as long as the government turns a blind eye. That Tax Scam just allowed employers to skim their employees TIPS again. Or dock their pay for every $1 in tips they make so they still can't get ahead. Then they call the working poor lazy and spendthrifts.

Basically Republicans are lying, hypocritical scum and no one can convince me otherwise.

You are funny and obviously haven't been job hunting in at least a decade.
There are no retirement benefits, only have healthcare because of obamacare.
In Mi the crooked republicans have scammed the workers with their right to work legislation which basically weakened the unions and you can be fired for no reason.
Heck there are no breaks, except for lunch unless it is in your contract.
