The Israeli government is to name a train station after President Donald Trump following his decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel earlier this month.
The station will be built at the Western Wall, the site where Jews pray and believe to be a standing wall of the Second Temple, an ancient holy site revered in Judaism. Trump became the first sitting U.S. president to visit the site in May.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his cabinet lauded the Dec. 6 announcement as a recognition of reality and were moved to show their appreciation to the American leader.
"The Western Wall is the holiest place for the Jewish people, and I decided to name the train station that leads to it after President Trump—following his historic and brave decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of the State of Israel," Israeli Transportation Minister Israel Katz said, according to The Jerusalem Post.
I think it is becoming fairly obvious that the Trump presidency is going to end in scandal, so I would predict that Israel is going to be very unhappy about this decision.
Probably within the next year or so.
After all there is a reason we do not have a connecting flight at the Richard Nixon airport, or drive down the Richard M. Nixon turnpike.
At some point Trump's name will be used as a derogatory remark or insult, along the lines of "Boy he really Trumped that up didn't he?" or " Trump you, for driving like that!"
I mean if the Netanyahu wanted to insult it citizens why not call it the Adolph Hitler train station?
After all there ARE a number of similarities.
Dotard drumpf and dotard pooty must have some dirt on dotard netandyawho. All seem to think the world spins around their delusion, dishonor and lies. Sorry triple D dotards but ya all suck. #Aint our president's.

DeleteGryph, I agree with your statement that Trump's name will be used as a derogatory remark or insult. For months I have been saying in private conversations that I look forward to the day when the name Trump is equated with treason and the name is removed from public display (around the world).

Yeah a moron dude jumped in the elevator, I hit the up button and he hit the down button. The elevator went down and he turned to us and said I trumped you. I thought? what a idiot. So what. Then I saw some azz with the same trump hair do. Gross and Looked like shit.
Deletethat will not be the only reason they will rue the decision
ReplyDeletetrump station will likely become grand central station for terrorist attacks - simply because of the name.
talk about painting a big red bulls - eye on a target.
Agree, that's what I immediately thought.
DeleteOh damn. Trump and Netanyahu are both crooked.
ReplyDeleteThat said . . . I find it hysterical that the Israeli prime minister is naming a train station after a man whose followers want Jerusalem to be the capital because its the first step for their rapture to come to ultimately kill all the Jewish people in the world.
Yup, that is what the Evangelicals are all about. The Jews are there to keep the place accesable until the rapture.

Delete"Police are expected to make their recommendations in coming weeks after questioning Netanyahu seven times in connection with two corruption cases. In one, he’s suspected of illicitly receiving tens of thousands of dollars worth of cigars and champagne from wealthy friends, including the Hollywood producer Arnon Milchan, whose films include “Pretty Woman” and “Fight Club.” In the second, he’s accused of offering to secure legislation that would benefit a major newspaper publisher in return for favorable coverage; the bill never passed.
Netanyahu repeatedly has denied wrongdoing in the two cases. His office did not respond to a request for comment for this story.
In a third major bribery case, involving the government purchase of submarines from Germany, the prime minister has not been named as a suspect but at least two of his confidants are being investigated on suspicion of wrongdoing."

DeleteTrump is who he is because his Father left the child rearing to his wife. Trump has done the exact same thing. Luckily for him, his wives have been better educated and more secure and normal human beings than his own mother was. That's why his children are more "normal" than Trump himself is. It is the one gift he gave to his children, that he is the most absent father ever without being actually absent. Except for Tiffany. That was a blessing in disguise that I hope she realizes now.

In the vote at the United Nations last week on whether to condemn the decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital, Micronesia sided with the United States along with an archipelago of geopolitically obscure outposts: the Marshall Islands, Togo, Nauru, Palau. And then there was a pair of allies closer to home — Guatemala and Honduras, the only two countries in Latin America to support the U.S. move.

ReplyDeleteABC News:
Trump is America's second-most admired man, poll finds
...Gallup has asked the most admired man question 71 times since 1946 and the sitting president has won 58 of those times, according to Gallup.
“Trump's unpopularity is holding him back from winning the most admired distinction,” Gallup’s Jeffrey Jones said Wednesday. “The incumbent president is the usual winner since he is arguably the most prominent figure in the country -- but when the president is unpopular, other well-known and well-liked men have been able to finish first.”
"Former presidents commonly make the top 10 list but rarely win, with Obama only the second to do so, along with Eisenhower in 1967 and 1968," he added.
Seventeen percent of Americans surveyed named Obama as the man they admire most, while 14 percent named Trump, the poll said.
Hillary Clinton, meanwhile, was named America’s most admired woman, with 9 percent of the vote, while former first lady Michelle Obama came in second with 7 percent....

ReplyDeleteTrump finally turns on the formerly ‘wonderful man’ Michael Flynn
....President Trump’s legal team plans to cast former national security adviser Michael T. Flynn as a liar seeking to protect himself if he accuses the president or his senior aides of any wrongdoing, according to three people familiar with the strategy.
The approach would mark a sharp break from Trump’s previously sympathetic posture toward Flynn, whom he called a “wonderful man” when Flynn was ousted from the White House in February. Earlier this month, the president did not rule out a possible pardon for Flynn, who is cooperating with special counsel Robert S. Mueller III’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.
Make no mistake: Flynn will be accusing somebody of wrongdoing. And that somebody almost certainly has to be higher up in the chain than himself, which means a very small number of people. According to Leonnig’s piece, prosecutors have not only recommended a sentence of “zero to six months” for Flynn’s one guilty plea but have also agreed not to prosecute his son, who was implicated in some of his questionable activities. Given the enormous exposure Flynn had and the numerous crimes he may have committed — regarding payments from Russia and Turkey; his failure to report money he received; possible lies told to investigators; and even his alleged role in an outlandish plot to kidnap exiled Turkish cleric Fethullah Gulen from Pennsylvania and spirit him back to Turkey, for which Flynn and his son were supposedly to be paid as much as $15 million — he could have been looking at a significant stretch behind bars.
But he won’t now, because he was able to offer information Mueller found valuable enough to make all that go away. We still don’t know what it is, and that’s one of the most important unanswered questions of this scandal. Does it have to do with the question of the Trump campaign’s collusion with Russia, obstruction of justice, or both?...

Trump asks supporters to help award 'Fake News' trophy
President Trump is asking his supporters to help him award a "Fake News Trophy."....

Donald J. Trump
✔@realDonaldTrump
We should have a contest as to which of the Networks, plus CNN and not including Fox, is the most dishonest, corrupt and/or distorted in its political coverage of your favorite President (me). They are all bad. Winner to receive the FAKE NEWS TROPHY!
6:04 AM - Nov 27, 2017
==========
A Rasmussen poll conducted after Trump’s tweet found that a plurality of Americans would award Fox News the trophy. In contrast to his attacks on CNN, ABC News and other networks, Trump has been complimentary toward Fox News, praising the network and its reporters for their ratings and appearing on the network more than a dozen times for interviews.
The Trump campaign’s email links to a poll where participants can vote on three media stories as “fake,” “faker” or “fakest” news....
