As Special Counsel Robert Mueller's team probes deeper into potential collusion between Trump officials and representatives of the Russian government, investigators are taking a closer look at political contributions made by U.S. citizens with close ties to Russia.
Buried in the campaign finance reports available to the public are some troubling connections between a group of wealthy donors with ties to Russia and their political contributions to President Donald Trump and a number of top Republican leaders. And thanks to changes in campaign finance laws, the political contributions are legal. We have allowed our campaign finance laws to become a strategic threat to our country.

When you finish you will realize just how deep this whole thing goes, as well as why certain Republican politicians are working so hard to provide cover for Donald Trump and fighting the Mueller investigation.

ReplyDeleteI don't know? But how can anyone say that trump is legally occupying our white house. He is fake, a fraud, a liar, cheat and RIGGER. He cannot sign anything. He simple did not win the election. The entire dirty filthy clown show of characters charged with treason is the only outcome.
ReplyDeleteEven if proven, there is nothing in the Constitution outside of impeachment to remedy this. And even so, Pence will be President, not Hillary. There are no “do overs.” There is no mechanism to void an election and give it to the second place winner.
DeleteThat’s what the ELECTORAL COLLEGE is for. And they didn’t do their jobs. Which is why they need to go. But short of a constitutional amendment, that’s not going to happen.

ReplyDeleteRobert Kuttner (who I trust) predicts there will be another bursting Wall St. bubble before November 2018. The Tax Scam is setting it up. When the corporations get all that extra money and start using it to buy back their shares in order to drive the price UP, what goes up eventually comes down. It is a DISASTER waiting to happen. Of course, what about Trump isn’t?
DeleteI’ll be watching to see when I should sell what few stocks I have before the bubble bursts. $20,000 isn’t spit when it comes to the stock market. But it’s all I’ve got and I don’t want it to all go away. If I can get back what I put in and break even, I’ll be “winning”.

ReplyDeleteTold you that firing Mueller wouldn’t stop anything if they tried to do it. The damning evidence is already out there.
ReplyDeleteThis makes it so much easier for the public to grasp the absolute corruption.
Now, if only the investigation could also damn Citizens United to the extent that Congress tackled election finance reform, nullified Citizens United and then put in place some real and lasting safeguards to prevent foreign countries and corporations from interferring with our elections.
But that isn’t going to happen. The cesspool thrives on money. They have to have it. It is their lifesblood. There is no way any politician is going to restrict the money he/she can accept when it comes to getting re-elected.
At least, not until there is a Democratic supermajority over 60% (with a Democratic VP). Even then it would be iffy if the Democrats did the noble thing and restricted campaign contributions.
It will be hard enough to undo all of Trump’s damage and in such a way to prevent it from happening again. To add election finance reform on top? Not going to happen.
But I would sooooo love for the Mueller investigation to take out Citizens United.
