The Trump Administration has the highest rate of staff turnover in the last 40 years.

Courtesy of Newsweek:

President Donald Trump’s first year in office has seen a record number of staff turnover, with 34 percent of the administration resigning, being reassigned or being fired.

The high level of staff turnover, detailed in a Wall Street Journal report Thursday, is unprecedented in the last 40 years, and is especially unusual given the seniority of the staffers who have left the White House.

Administration turnover rate in the past year has been tracked by Kathryn Dunn Tenpas, a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution who has tracked White House turnover for more than three decades. Her analysis shows that 21 of the 61 officials she’s tracked have left the administration or been reassigned, a much higher rate than years prior.

The next-highest administration turnover rate was when Ronald Reagan was in the White House. In 1981, 17 percent of senior aides left Reagan’s administration.

“Not only is the percentage double, the seniority of people leaving is extraordinarily high,” said Tenpas of the Trump administration compared to Reagan’s.

Interesting that the next highest rate of turnover was during the Reagan administration don't you think?

That administration also holds the record for the most criminal indictments, but I have a feeling Trump is on course to break that record as well.

By the way in case you were wondering Obama had a nine percent turnover rate, and Clinton had an eleven percent turnover rate.

So much MAGA.

"For the first time in 35 years of analysis,
I must list the United States as the greatest nuclear threat in the world. "
"fueled by the erratic behavior that led one of my guests to list none other than Donald Trump as the world’s biggest nuclear threat —
      of this year and next."
"“Finally, it’s that the President of the United States with everything you just discussed, all the concerns you have about his mental stability, he has unfettered control of the most powerful nuclear arsenal in the world. He could order the launch of a nuclear missile and with four 4 minutes that missile would be launched and NO ONE could stop it,” Cirincione explained. “That makes the United States the most serious nuclear threat in the world today.'
“When it comes to the American nuclear arsenal, the president has complete control, does he not?” Capehart asked bestselling author and intelligence expert Malcolm Nance.

“Yeah, the term that people use is that he’s a NUCLEAR MONARCH. He can, on HI$ own authority, on HI$ own belief at any time virtually against any target in the world…HE can launch a NUCLEAR WEAPON ,” Nance explained. “We call it the 35-minute SOLUTION.”“HE can order that the football, which is communications package and strike options package be brought to HIM. HE can choose a strike package within a minute and using the communications authentication device in HIS pocket, HE can order the nuclear forces to launch a Minuteman Three missile and in 30 minutes it will strike North Korea and detonate,” Nance explained. “NO ONE is in that chain to stop HIM.”

"“The only viable option is that the Secretary of Defense, who has to authenticate…that IS the President of the United States giving a lawful order, won’t authenticate it because it may be an unlawful order,” Nance noted. “But if Donald Trump decides this morning that HE will nuke North Korea and HE gives a lawful order by saying, ‘I have determined it’s a clear and present danger,’ 35 minutes later, whatever target HE’s aimed at will vaporize and with it of course the credibility of the United States — the global economy…nothing will be in WALMART in 72 hours, YOU KNOW.”"

Go back in history. Democrats are far better to work with when occupying the White House than are the Republicans.

Be careful for whom you cast your vote (especially when dealing with those up for reelection), America!

What I Learned From Reading All The Media Safaris Into ‘Trump Country’ I Could Handle

'“Cletus safari” is the derisive term of art '
'These stories were a sort of pornography.'
"they illuminated a larger story: the longstanding media habit of indexing the American political narrative to the sanctified yearnings of a narrow slice of white voter. Reagan Democrats, independent voters, the “undecided,” soft Republicans — no matter how small their number, no matter how wide the electoral margin, these groups always become the axis on which the story of every election turns."
'“He’s doing what he said he was going to do, that’s the biggest thing,” said Tyler Schurbon, 23, who describes himself as a “progressive Republican” who falls asleep watching Fox News each night. “A lot of people get into the presidency, and they just completely forget what they talked about.”'
'“Look, we all know the steel jobs aren’t coming back to the degree they once were, nor the coal jobs,” said Grimm. “Honestly, we never expected that.”''If he does something wrong, that’s one thing. But give him a chance to lead the country. If falls apart, it can’t be any worse than it’s been.”'
'“Do I believe that Donald Trump is in bed with the Russians? Oh, hell no,” “Do I think it’s a lie that’s trying to be perpetrated by the left? Absolutely.”'
'“He’s taking back the American initiative,” “He’s a force for good in the world, a force to be reckoned with. You can’t beat him.” '
'“Everybody I talk to,” “realizes it’s not Trump who’s dragging his feet. Trump’s probably the most diligent, hardest-working president we’ve ever had in our lifetimes. It’s not like he sleeps in till noon and goes golfing every weekend, like the last president did.”'“I personally like that he’s a no-nonsense sort of person. Do I wish he would use his words in a better way sometimes? Absolutely. But it takes a person with strength and gumption to not care sometimes about what they say or how they say it,” Taylor said. “But the ‘Merry Christmas’ part, I think, is amazing and should have been done a long time ago.”' "Trump supporters still support Trump."

As a former criminal defense attorney, I've sat in rooms candidly discussing crime with thousands of criminals. I know what "consciousness of guilt" looks like. Trump exhibits it daily.

I'm glad The Washington Post is keeping tabs on how often Trump lies and what he lies about, but this article undercounts the lies in his recent NYT interview and incorrectly explains several of them. Still, it's worth reading.

  22. High turnover is always a red flag. My school district never took that into account when evaluating administrators and that is a big mistake.

There are some schools where there is no turnover unless someone dies or moves. Those are the schools you hope to get in to.

Then there are some schools where there are numerous postings on the bid list every year. Same principal but they just can't keep the staff. Those are the schools you want to avoid.

My last year in the classroom (library actually) I allowed myself to be excessed to give me some bid leverage. That year that school lost 30% of it's staff. A few of those teachers had waited years to get out of that school. Escape is more like it.

The irony is that that principal left to get a promotion to an administrative job with the county office of ed mentoring principals. I couldn't believe it. Perfect example of being promoted to the highest level of your incompetence.

Sure Trump is firing plenty of people. But at least as many if not more are jumping ship. One only has to look at how many the State Department has lost.

Then look at all of the vacancies that the Trump administration isn't even making an attempt to fill.

    Except for judges of course.

Know wonder White House aides feel humiliated having to work for such a putz.

I wonder if there are numbers for the turnover rate in Trump's own little backwater if his business. Sure, he's got his loyal bootlickers. But what about the others? How fast are they quitting and how often? What's the average length of employment by the Trump organization? (If you're not family, of course.)

He has made such a big deal out of signing Bills - that actually do nowhere - that this tax bill came across as very iffy too!

He loves setting 'the scene' he's done it so often. I stopped watching the TV coverage of him - which is mostly nothing but lies and actions of someone mentally off. Suggest others shut their TV's off too - the less people watch the varied coverages about him, means his poll numbers will drop even further. Plus, the media is what keeps the ??? (you reference your name for him!) alive! Boring!!!!
