Logan Trammell |
Family and friends of 22 year old Logan Trammell are gathering to remember the young musician after a shooting took his life on Christmas Eve.
Trammell’s family says he was driving away from his parents home around 11:30 p.m. on December 24th in one of his father’s vehicles. His father was unaware that his son was borrowing his truck. Fearing the vehicle was being stolen, the family says he yelled out, firing a warning shot in the air in an attempt to get the driver’s attention, and then shot once at the tailgate to stop whomever was taking the truck. Once the vehicle stopped, they say his father realized he had accidentally shot his own son.
“It was just a horrific accident. A horrific accident. My brother thought someone was stealing his truck, never realized it was Logan because he didn’t live down here all the time, he lived with my mom and dad,” Logan’s aunt Tammy Jacobs explained. And he was supposed to be in the bed.”
No. No this was NOT an accident.
This man purposefully took out a firearm and shot at a moving vehicle.
That is a conscious use of deadly force.
People need to stop thinking that guns solve problems, or offer protection,
They don't. They only offer death.
And they endanger everybody around you.
Yet another of the exemplary gun owners that the NRA insists exist.
ReplyDeleteThis or similar could have been the infamous Palin family of Wasilla, Alaska. Except the Palin's were planning on shooting the son with the truck issue.
DeleteDarn straight, this was NOT an accident and I seriously wish people would quit referring to them as such.
ReplyDeleteSome people mentally are not mature enough to own a gun
ReplyDeleteSome people? How about most people. And stats show "most" people are killed by their own gun. It is similar to, too stupid to drive or raise decent children.
DeleteI do not understand why the theft of a material object gives me the right to kill someone. I can only hope that now this family and others see that perceived "right" differently.
DeleteIf i saw my car being stolen or i believed it was being stolen, i simply would file a police report and hope they never find it or it is totaled. Thats what a responsible gun owner would do.
DeleteThe father intended to stop whomever was driving his vehicle. The fact the driver was his son is unfortunate but it was no accident.
ReplyDeleteThis is sad. Human life taken over a truck. A similar story in alaska with the palins but dad did not shoot the son even as he was assaulted. And it could have been justified legally. All gun owners and law enforcement must refrain from whipping out a gun without accessing the situation.
ReplyDeleteeven as he was assaulted.
DeleteSon or step-son, Track successfully took the gun from father or step-father Todd Palin. Todd is much weaker since the beating he took from the 'snowmachine' mystery, when Todd was abandoned in a parking lot.
The “stolen” truck was driving away from him. Even if it was genuinely being stolen, is it really worth killing someone, even a thief, over a truck?
ReplyDeleteMy feelings exactly. The "thief" wasn't threatening anyone's safety; why did it warrant attempting to kill him?
DeleteBut the family is so distraught. Surely now is not the time to talk about guns. (Are you are sick of that pathetic argument as I am??)
ReplyDeleteYES!!!
DeleteFingers in ears, now is not the time to talk responsibility. Only when non whites do shit like this, is it the time to talk.
DeleteNo offense meant, just a factual observation
DeleteFunny thing is, the GOP's potential bans on abortion and contraception will NOT result in more rich white babies that they want. It will result in more poor, needy brown and white babies in all the taker states. Then what? The GOP will let them die?
DeleteAnother gross example of the cost of ignorance. Flooding the United States of America and arming the world with guns is not the answer to safety. Americans were sold the BS by "REPUBLICANS". The rogue military machine brought the weapons home to usa soil to play war and now we have a mess. Arming every tom and harry DICK is not making us safe. It is killing our youth and innocent. If every stupid person is armed? How do the "GOOD" cops know who is bad? Its all over greed and now ignorance of repo communism. Ban all military assault weapons on usa soil. Take the war to the enemy. The NRA and promoters of gun shows can buy back the crappy weapons and sell liability insurance for the rest. lawsuits galore.
ReplyDeleteCase after case this year of hair brain and hair trigger paranoid people and cops shooting before analyzing the situation. This rodeo clown that shot his son? had he been drinking? on meds? regardless he fired a weapon and killed someone over a truck.
ReplyDeleteWould Todd Palin have shot Track if he had taken the truck that he wanted so badly?
ReplyDeleteThe gun nut culture, NRA, families like the Heaths and Palins have been brainwashing the gullible to believe that guns are the answer to much of man's problems.
DeleteIf Todd's aim is like Sarah's, probably not.
Delete.............."thoughts & prayers"................
ReplyDeleteThere is a reason that law enforcement officers are trained to ONLY use their weapons when lives are in danger.
ReplyDeleteIs a truck THAT important that he couldn't have just called the police and reported it stolen? It's certainly tragic that he ended up murdering his own son (and yes, I used that word intentionally) but did he really value that truck over the life of a potential thief?
Law enforcement have other options besides using deadly force.
DeletePepper spray and tasers are appropriate and can sometimes stop a subject.
Much of the entire Black lives matter movement is being motivated by the fact that officers make horrible decisions, and some simply shoot out of prejudice, panic, or sheer stupidity.
"There is a reason that law enforcement officers are trained to ONLY use their weapons when lives are in danger." IS THAT A JOKE?
DeleteTell it to the family of Andrew Finch.
I never claimed that all officers FOLLOW their training, but they are supposed to only use their weapons under very specific circumstances.
DeleteUnfortunately, there are many people working as law enforcement officers who should never have passed their training or been hired. Those who hurt or kill people because they did not follow proper procedures should be charged with crimes.
Erica Garner dies today - THAT is a tragedy.
ReplyDeleteThis, a murder.
"1. Finally, we are sorry, Erica Garner. Our story looked at the effect racism has on black women’s bodies, the stress of which combines with the stress of pregnancy to kill multitudes more black women than white. Garner bore a son just four months ago, named for her father, Eric Garner, who was choked to death by the NYPD. We received a note last night asking us to retract our story, sourced — perhaps prematurely — from the New York Daily News, that Garner had been declared brain-dead, as her family was still holding out hope. She died this morning."
DeleteTammy Jacobs appears to be as stupid as her brother. Maybe just a Darwinian gene pool cleansing.
ReplyDeleteIt certainly was a tragically stupid manslaughter but it was not an "accident." Why not call the police if you think your truck has been stolen; why grab your lethal weapon and start shooting it?
ReplyDeleteBeaglemom
In most if not all jurisdictions, the only justification for the use of deadly force is to protect lives, either one's own or those of others. While I'm sure this man is already suffering for what he's done, a manslaughter conviction and time served will help to send a message to others that this was not an appropriate use of lethal force.
ReplyDelete"Send a message?" That's exactly why there will be NO charges and no jail time. The NRA will be all 'the man is suffering enough" and "guns were not at fault." Same as always.
DeleteSomething is fishy here. The son lived with the grandparents, not Dad.He was "borrowing" Dad's truck late at night without telling him.Dad shoots "at the tailgate" to stop the truck? I think the son was taking Dad's truck against his wishes, and he shot at his son in a rage.
ReplyDeleteI think he knew who it was, that was his excuse. "I felt threatened, I was scared". Nothing will happen it was a tragic accident.
DeleteSome people get exactly what they deserve in life, like this father.
ReplyDeleteOT?"Brandi Mells, 22, and her 36-year-old girlfriend Shanta Myers were found slain inside their basement apartment on the day after Christmas. Myers’ 5-year-old daughter Shanise and 11-year-old son Jeremiah were also killed."

To Trammell's family, it's all about taking responsibility for your actions. This was not an accident. It is clearly a conscious decision to use deadly force. Regardless of who the victim was, using deadly force is a fact, Trammell's father must live with that and skip the excuses.
ReplyDeleteA little Christmas gift for the listeners. Check it out and let me know what you think. I work out at @onnit almost every day.

ReplyDelete"Finch was killed just moments after he stepped outside. The Washington Post reports that Finch was the 973rd person shot and killed by a police officer in 2017 out of at least 976. Sixty-eight of those people were unarmed."
"“The police said, ‘Come out with your hands up,’” Lisa Finch told the Wichita Eagle. “[The officer] took me, my roommate and my granddaughter, who witnessed the shooting and had to step over her dying uncle’s body.”"
"“What gives the cops the right to open fire?” Lisa asked. “Why didn’t they give him the same warning they gave us? That cop murdered my son over a false report.”"$WATTHAT
Shot once at the tailgate? I don’t think so. Shot at the back window at the figure driving the truck, more like. If the bullet had gone through the tail gate, then all of the layers of metal to get into the cab, that boy wouldn’t be dead.
ReplyDelete22 and living with his cousin’s parents instead of his own? What’s going on there?
Retarded Southerners? That was my first instinct regarding the idiots involved in this fuckery.
