Court records show the son of former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin has been arraigned on three charges Sunday morning, all are domestic violence related. Track Palin, 28, faces a Class B Felony charge of first-degree burglary, one charge of assault in the fourth degree and one charge of criminal mischief in the fourth degree
According to CourtView, the charges were all committed on Saturday, Dec. 16. Palin was arraigned in the Palmer Courthouse at 10:00 a.m., Sunday morning.
Records indicate he previously faced domestic violence charges in 2016. At that time, Palin faced fourth-degree assault charges, a weapons charge and a charge of interfering with a domestic violence report. He was allegedly intoxicated. Former Gov. Sarah Palin spoke about those accusations against Track Palin, suggesting post-traumatic stress disorder may have been a factor from his service in the army.
Well now we know what got Palin so fired up about those old stories about her family yesterday.

DeleteThat might have been the case this time last year, however, our legislature just passed a much more strict crime and sentencing bill in response to one they passed two years ago that had proven itself to be too lenient.
Sentencing guidelines for Class A Felonies is up to 10 years, but no minimum sentence for first time felons.
Judge can waive incarceration in favor of a duration of home incarceration with ankle monitor. Fine can be up to 100,000.
The two Class A misdemeanors can get you a year in jail and $10,000 fine each. With his 3 previous Class A misdemeanors taken into account, one of them aggravated, I don't think that the judge will be willing to not at least give him some time behind bars.

I saw Piper at Carrs with Trig this afternoon, he was with a stuffed toy and somewhat behaving but he still can't communicate verbally. I feel bad for Piper; she's just a kid and has that kind of responsibility, hauling around he special needs relative and grocery shopping when she should just be able to be a teen and enjoy life without those sorts of hassles.

DeleteWe say plenty when we "see" something, as you state, however it seems that Track is usually beating on his spouses or other relations, so not much for the general public to report on since this is happening behind closed doors on private property.
If you read the Anchorage paper you'll find plenty of instances of criminals being busted by the keen eyes of concerned citizens.

It is not likely this young man will ever not be abusive. His criminal behavior escalated given the charges made. Abusers blame the victim for their violence. With family that in public makes excuses for violence including a public brawl distracting with changing the narrative to rape Track has the odds of recovery from anger issues stacked against him. This is another tragic situation of potential grave consequences to others.
