Donald Trump claims he didn't say he had a relationship with Kim Jong Un, because it wasn't recorded. But he did, and it was. Update!

Courtesy of Mediaite:

This morning, President Donald Trump got his Sunday started by taking to Twitter to rail against the Wall Street Journal over an interview he gave the paper last week. One of the big revelations from that conversation was Trump’s declaration that he actually has a “very good relationship” with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un. Of course, this raised many eyebrows considering that Trump has publicly denigrated the reclusive and erratic leader numerous times.

At the start of his morning tweetstorm, Trump claimed that the WSJ falsely represented what he said. According to the president, his actual words were “I’d have a good relationship with Kim Jong Un.”

That followed this tweet from Sarah Huckabee Sanders which claims that the Wall Street Journal misquoted Trump.
The problem with all of this of course is that the Wall Street Journal, which is owned by Rupert Murdoch by the way, DID record the comments.
So yeah, Trump and his Huckabee attack dog are once again simply lying.

And that is why I simply reject EVERYTHING this Trump White House says as purposefully inaccurate.

Update: For those who are still unsure, this the statement in question and what Trump said immediately following.
Yeah, he knew what impression he was trying to give.

It is only after being called out for it later that he and his sycophants try to change the facts.

Makes me wonder what Sarah Huck plans to do after her day in the sun is over. Very little available for professional liers of her ilk.

Well, that transcript gives a very strong impression that Trump said he "probably has" a relationship with the N. Korean leader. It's just that Trump says stuff like that all the time so no one ever knows if he actually means or even knows what he says. He is very inarticulate.

OT?" “I have now contacted you three times asking you to call me regarding your false, slanderous report. You accused me of being a pervert and a liar without performing even basic reporting, indeed not even reporting on tweets that put statements in context.”

He added, “You did so with full awareness that Fox viewers have come to my home to threaten me following your false reports.”

“I will not be the next George Tiller,” Eichenwald stated, referencing the Wichita physician who was murdered in cold blood by an anti-abortion zealot not long after former Fox News personality Bill O’Reilly attacked him on the air, calling him “Killer Tiller.”"

They had Fred Armistad (?spelling) played Wolff.

I was thinking last week that Fred and Wolff could be brothers and lo and behold there is Fred on SNL.

How many lies are we up to now, he averages 5.6/day of which he only “works” 2.5 hours. At this rate I believe he might make his goal of 3,000 lie by Jan 20th.

It appears lying is the standard method republicans use as a response to problems they are creating. If you can not use deflection to muddy the water just lie is the republican playbook now what a shame.

He just blabs on without ever finishing a sentence. His mind must be mush or it is short-circuiting, he is not able to finish a thought and he is off to something else.

Learning disabled or covering for dementia, he can't remember what he just said so he goes on to some other topic?

Anyway, I have really stopped listening to his BS because 1) it is a lie 2) an hour from now he will contradict himself so why waste my time.

That's the Right-wing's goto response now, just deny it, call it fake news.

Trump is such a blighted fuckwit that he doesn't understand that his taping of his audible droolings will only incriminate himself.

Interesting that the media are fighting back this week but where were they in 2016...?

I heard "I" not "I'd" quite clearly, but in addition, it doesn't make sense to say "I'd have ..." (short for "I would have ...") unless it's followed by a conditional.

I would have a good relationship if ...
    or
I would have a good relationship but ...
    or
I would have a good relationship except ...

    He doesn't do this.

You're right, Anon at 1:29 pm, but correct grammar doesn't figure into Trump's speech anyway. His language is very similar and equally as crazy as Sarah Palin's "word salad" speech. They both spew forth words hoping that they will impress whomever is listening, not having any idea of what they are actually saying. Then comes the denial and the accusation that the listener is lying.

Conservative writer: Trump called friends to brag about 's---hole countries' remark

...A conservative columnist said President Trump called friends to brag after the meeting in which the president reportedly referred to Haiti, El Salvador and African nations as "shithole countries."

"It’s weird that people in the room don’t remember Trump using that word when Trump himself was calling friends to brag about it afterwards," Erick Erickson, who has in the past been critical of Trump, said in a tweet.

"I spoke to one of those friends. The President thought it would play well with the base."

Trump Benefited From 'Extraordinary' Influx Of 'Dark Money' In Final Days Of 2016 Campaign: Study

...“Firstly, a giant wave of dark money poured into Trump’s own campaign — one that towered over anything in 2016 or even Mitt Romney’s munificently financed 2012 effort … The gushing torrent, along with all the other funds from identifiable donors that flowed in in the campaign’s final stages should refocus debates about that period.”

At the beginning of November, nearly $13 million worth of dark money was spent supporting Trump, compared to roughly $6 million worth of such funding for Romney at the same time in 2012, according to the authors’ review of FEC and IRS data. That increase does not correspond with a rising amount of dark money between the two election cycles: total dark money spending actually fell to $181 million in 2016 from a high of $308 million in 2012.

"Winning was very important.”. “This guy has the same dictator gene as his grandfather. He is also very aware of what a balancing act it is to run North Korea. The toughest thing about heading a totalitarian regime is making sure you don’t get killed yourself. He is heartless. He is ruthless. And he has to be.”“I’ve lost count of how many people he’s had purged or killed. Look how he had his own half-brother killed and his uncle executed. You don’t kill your family like that. The way he had his uncle dragged out and murdered. There are no other examples in North Korean history like that.”Kim’s chief goal, she said, is to gain international acceptance as a nuclear weapons power and avoid the fate of Muammar Kaddafi or Saddam Hussein

Trump is a wanna be dictator. Hes trying to acquire a new missile now that goes against our nuclear treaties. He wants to starve the old and the poor.Strip us of our rights to vote and free speech. Not much different are the Orange Turds fantasies other than the rolly polly dictator wears his pajamas in public, and the Turd wears cheap, crappy suits made in China.

Every time Trump gets questioned or criticized for something he has said, his only reaction is to claim that he never said it and that the person questioning/criticizing him is lying. He doesn't seem to have any idea or recollection of what he's said at all. Something that should have been noticed during the comprehensive "medical examination" he had last week.
