Irish priest claims there is a desperate need for more exorcists due to increase in "demonic activity." Hang on, I have to check what year it is again.

Courtesy of Newsweek:

An Irish priest has put out an urgent call for backup to help with the growing demand for exorcisms in the country, according to reports.

“It’s only in recent years that the demand [for exorcisms] has risen exponentially,” Father Pat Collins said, adding that anyone who doesn’t see the need for more exorcists is “out of touch with reality.” Collins wrote an open letter to Irish bishops asking them to begin training more priests to deal with exorcisms, and he cited the International Association of Exorcists’ belief that demonic activity has increased substantially in recent years.

Collins has been speaking out about the activities of what he has called “the evil one” for years. He is widely considered Ireland’s most prominent exorcist, and he has also advocated for the church to take a more active role in demon hunting.

"Anyone who doesn’t see the need for more exorcists is out of touch with reality.”

Just let that bounce around in your skull a little.

These are the people we are forced to share the planet with. These are the people whose beliefs we are encouraged to respect.

Thank you, but no thank you.

This kind of superstitious nonsense should be called out and refuted every single time we hear about it.

No, people are not talking to an actual god.

No, there are no guardian angels watching over you.

No, there are no spirits which need to be placated with charms or magic spells.

And no, there are no demons.

Yes, there is mental illness, and yes there are scientifically based strategies for supporting those who suffer with them.

And an exorcism is the very last thing that they need.

IDK, if I were the next president, I'd want an exorcist to thoroughly purge the White House before I took up residence.

'Was Jesus the invention of a Roman emperor? The author of this ground-breaking book believes he was. "Caesar’s Messiah" reveals the key to a new and revolutionary understanding of the origin of Christianity, explaining what is the New Testament, who is the real Jesus, and how Christ's second coming already occurred. The clues leading to these startling conclusions are found in the writings of the first-century historian Flavius Josephus, whose "Wars of the Jews" is one of the only historical chronicles of this period. Closely comparing the work of Josephus with the New Testament Gospels, "Caesar’s Messiah" demonstrates that the Romans directed the writing of both. Their purpose: to offer a vision of a “peaceful Messiah” who would serve as an alternative to the revolutionary leaders who were rocking first-century Israel and threatening Rome. Similarly, "Caesar’s Messiah" will rock our understanding of Christian history as it reveals that Jesus was a fictional character portrayed in four Gospels written not by Christians but Romans. This Flavian Signature edition adds Atwill’s latest discoveries of numerous parallel events in sequence which ultimately reveal the identity of the true authors of the Gospels.'

"If you are on a journey to find truth I think this books theme is but one piece of a great puzzle who's intent is becoming clearer by the day. Ehrman show clearly problems with the biblical text but never really asks why. This book seems to address that. I am not a scholar but you don't have to be a PhD to know things are not as the establishment would like us to believe."

Does nasty dirty liar traitor, treason and espionage qualify as "evil one"? Especially when our currency says in god we trust? Ying and Yang. Positive and Negative. Tax exemptions or not. There is nothing wrong with loving and worshiping and believing in something. It becomes wrong when it is a con, enslaving, or business to deceive. Which is what we see enforced today.

Demon hunting is the key thing going on here, it is just another social filter for theocratic Dominionists.

If you look closely at the right, they are actively on sin inquisitions, not abusers of the law. Man's law can be replaced with their higher laws for social good according to their brand's version.

Sins against the state will become like sins against God by their metrics, which provide a filter setting for their dreamy society of political perfection

    2. Ireland is one of the most beautiful places on earth. Don't knock it till you try it. The Cliffs of Moher, the Giant's Causeway, and the beautiful green hills are breathtaking. Then there are the pubs with music, dancing, and bawdy camaraderie.

The people I met there were a mixed bag, like people everywhere. It's common for people to be wary of foreigners, but if they get to know you better, they usually warm up.

It's just bigotry to negatively label a very large group of people based simply on their ethnic and religious background.

As I've traveled around the world, I've encountered negative attitudes about my nationality (American.) My country has a dark history too, from our treatment of Native Americans, to slavery, our extraordinary number of serial killers, shocking gun violence, and so on. Some Americans pretend to be Canadian when they travel, but Canada has its own long dark chapter of maltreatment of First Nations people. Families were torn apart and children placed in foster homes to force them to "assimilate." They were forbidden to speak their native language, and many of them never found their lost relatives.

So when you feel like finger-pointing, point the finger at yourself too. We all have a lot to answer for.

Orlando shooter's father attends Clinton rally

While he appeared patriotic at Monday’s rally, Seddique Mateen has a history of offering pro-Taliban and anti-U.S. rhetoric on his satellite TV program, which is based in the U.S. but geared toward Pashtun Afghans living in America and Europe. Pashtun Afghans make up the majority of the Taliban’s membership and Seddique Mateen’s show is known to Afghan intelligence, which told CBS News in June that the program often features pro-Taliban and anti-American messages.

On a video posted to the show’s Facebook page shortly after the nightclub shooting, Seddique Mateen said “God will punish those involved in homosexuality,” and that it is “not an issue that humans should deal with.”

NEWs RIGHT>"The mainstream media wants to “eliminate the age of consent so they can molest children,” he warned the packed crowd at “A Night for Freedom” in New York City last weekend. Cernovich also mocked the idea of being called “alt-right” or “far-right,” "
"ernovich and other independent, Internet-based pundits—known as “e-Celebs”—carried much of the public heavy lifting for his campaign, providing support for the reality TV star turned candidate in the absence of mainstream media backing. In 2015 and 2016, they worked under the banner “alt-right,” a catch-all term that was loosely defined around Trump’s hardline anti-immigrant rhetoric."
"Along with Cernovich, men’s rights activist Gavin McInnes, self-described philosopher Stefan Molyneux, who sometimes cites bogus race-based "science" on his podcast, Twitter personality Jack Posobiec (another Pizzagate pusher) and bloggers for the conspiracy and news site Gateway Pundit are among the pro-Trump pundits now calling themselves the “NEW RIGHT.” The term is intended to distinguish them from both traditional, National Review-reading conservatives and the anti-Semitic, neo-Nazi so-called alt-righters."

FYI>""Doy Daniels is a con artist. He served ten years in federal prison for his crimes against six families, though there were more. He also had charges against him for allegedly hiring a hit man to kill the person who ratted him out, right after he fled to California. Though that charge was dropped because there wasn't enough evidence, he plead guilty to it as part of his deal. I saw the plea deal. This isn't just a bunch of rumors.
    He was a leader in the Latter Day Saint/Mormon church, and he used his position to gain the trust of people. Then he stole obscene amounts of money from them. I personally know some of the victims. He was court ordered to pay the money back once he got out of prison; he hasn't paid a cent. Instead, he went on to another faith and now hides behind God;
hard to get a job with a criminal record.
I feel awful for the people he continues to deceive.
    God knows."
"The letter is real and the guy is not dumb
Its credibility - in terms of other protestant pastors - is probably shaky since rather than taking responsibility for his actions, he's indicting every other pastor and saying they all have no choice because they'd lose their jobs if they followed Christ's teachings
He could get another job and stop being such a huge hypocrite
There's more going on here for him to make such a public confession for himself and condemnation of his fellow pastors
It would be interesting to hear how his congregation reacts to this."
