Track Palin plead not guilty today, by phone.

Courtesy of the WaPo:

Sarah Palin’s oldest son pleaded not guilty Monday to a felony charge in the case accusing him of assaulting his father at the family’s Alaska home last month.

Track Palin’s lawyer entered the plea to a burglary charge on his behalf at his arraignment. The 28-year-old did not attend the hearing in person, but participated by phone. His parents also did not attend.

During the brief proceeding, Palin said only, “Yes, ma’am,” when the judge asked if he was on the telephone line.

I think this one burglary charge is kind of a stretch, because I don't think that Track took anything, except for Todd Palin's pride of course.

Breaking and entering would seem like a reasonable charge, as does the assault, but I am not sure that burglary will fly.

By the way Dennis Zaki and I had planned to drive out to Palmer for this hearing today, but we learned that a number of media outlets were planing to cover the trial and realized that Track was too much of a pansy to face them by showing up in person.

And that of course also meant that Todd and Sarah would certainly not make an appearance either, so why waste our time?

Track also has a pretrial court date on February 2nd, and his actual trial is scheduled for February 26th.

I do think he has to definitely show up in person to that last one.

P.S. By the way Track is now using Dakota Meyer's old attorney, Kimberlee Colbo, in his battle with Jordan Loewe over her attempts to change the child custody arrangement.

My question is who the hell is paying THOSE attorney fees?

Because someone doesn't give a F*ck about this poor kid. They think that Track getting what he wants is more important than the kid being protected from a violent psychopath. This person needs to be called out. And, if it is his family, enabling him is NOT going to help him. He will only get serious about getting help when he hits rock bottom. The longer he is protected from that, the more he, his kids, and everyone else suffers.

So I'm getting a few variations of events from different family members. I haven't heard directly, but I hear enough from my mom talking to pick it all up. I don't think anyone is purposely putting different stories. It just sounds like they mostly have only heard a little from Aunty herself and they are slowly filling in the pieces. Besides family gossip, it does not seem to me that anyone is that surprised or wanting to even get involved.

Why should chronic criminals not be held accountable for their crimes? Why are they allowed to go free to do more harm?

Especially crimes against elders, women and children?

Plus what a truth to have the victims of crimes turn around and pay for the criminals attorney. That is a societal sickness, it needs to be revealed and helped. If not our country is deteriorating and failing.

I know nothing about AK laws, but I was a juror on a burglary case in Oregon. In OR, burglary means you entered a building with the intent of committing another crime. Generally that crime is going to be theft of some sort, but it can be assault or any other crime. In the case that I served on, the DA's theory of the crime was that the defendant broke into his neighbor's home with the intent to rape her. However, they presented no evidence whatsoever that he intended to harm her in any way (he probably did mean to attack her, but we saw zero evidence of that. Can't convict on "probably') so we found him Not Guilty of the Burglary charges and found him guilty of Criminal Mischief for busting the neighbor's door.

I'm guessing that AK laws are similar to OR's that the burglary is in the furtherance of another crime, in this case, the assault of Todd and/or other family members.

We know when the breaking part happens but when does the assault part happen? Does the assault begin when Track broke into the house to come after Dudd?

In my law class the first question we got was about a famous local case where a man was shot dead from the other side of a river that divided two states. Which state had jurisdiction? The ultimate determination of the court was that the river- up to a certain tide mark, which included where the shooter had been standing- belonged in the state where the victim was. But that's real law, not this sort of "get Track Palin off of these charges yet again" farce.

Off topic, in news you probably won't hear here, The Bundy's case was dismissed on all charges and the Government was severely chastised by the judge for their actions in the whole affair. besides withholding evidence, I saw a video today of the feds setting up for the confrontation and they really wanted an armed confrontation. They pushed for it, then backed off when they realized how much coverage the confrontation was getting and how bad they were going to come off looking. This whole case has been about Government overreach and abuse of power. What you think you know about this case was spoon fed to the press to make it look like the Government had a duty to go in and crush the Bundys. No different than "Weapons of mass destruction". This is the strategy of the US Government when they want something. They paint whoever it is they are going after as horrible scum, because that justifies taking them down.

If you want to get down to it, this is the reason Hillary lost and Trump won. It wasn't Russians that turned people against the establishment, it was an out of control and abusive government. And a lot of people were so fed up with it they sold their souls to Donald Trump.

It looks staged, just like this episode.
The question, is why? Sympathy? Feel sorry for me and my children. Backfire!

If the Palins are not paying for Track's lawyers, they are paying someone to pay for his lawyers. The Palins are enablers because they must keep the family secrets. They can't allow Track to grow up. It was all they could do to set him up in another house. They want to believe that is all there is to him being on his own, as if he is his own person and a grown up.

So, if Trackmarks is charged with burglary and there are no breaking parole repercussions from the vet court, does that mean he is off the hook for the drug monitoring? Can he use again? He has to be using otherwise he'd have been mighty sick from withdrawal.
I really don't care if he gets off again. We ALL know this will not end well. Sarah is too fucking dumb bless her heart to realize that she can't cover this up ad infinitum. Trackmarks will OD and/or kill people before this is all over.

It has amazed me for years, following at a distance, that the Palins seem to get away with just about anything in Alaska. Would the same be true if they lived elsewhere in the US? I'm not so sure. Here in the Lower 48, lots of prominent family members have had to face a courtroom, face the media all around them. But not the Palins. Obviously, Track has lots of time on his hands right now, so why couldn't he show up in court? Other that his name, of course.

It would be very different in the Lower 48. May be the occasional rich jerk getting a pass. Not habitual and like the corrupt authorities and the Palins are one big happy family. They are like bffs and they all bond over rescuing Track Palin again and again.
