Always keep this in mind.

That's right. The Republican party and the NRA have no problem demanding that guns be allowed in our public schools where they can put our children at risk, but when it comes to their own safety it is strictly no guns allowed.

Hypocrisy thy name is conservative.

GOP Rep. Pushing For Assault Rifle Ban: GOP Colleagues Are Privately Interested

...“Many of them have come up to me, you know, kind of more so one-on-one, a little bit quietly. You know how that is,” he said during an interview on CNN Tuesday morning. “They’re not necessarily wanting to have this conversation in front of everybody, They’re saying ‘Hey, good job on you. Good job on taking a stand. Good job in saying that. How is that playing? What are people saying to you back in your district?’ They’re really wanting to know what is the reception about what I’ve heard about what I’ve said.”

Mast is one of very few Republicans who has expressed any type of support on a weapons ban following the mass shooting at the Florida high school earlier this month that left 17 people dead. In his Times op-ed he argued that the assault rifle is too similar to the “most lethal” weapons he used to kill enemies while in combat.

“My rifle was very similar to the AR-15 style semi-automatic weapons used to kill students, teachers and a coach I knew at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, where I once lived,” he wrote in the Times op-ed. “We used it because it was the most lethal, the best for killing our enemies. And I know that my community, our schools and public gathering places are not made safer by any person having access to the best killing tool the army could put in my hands.”

Many Oregon officials spend campaign funds with NRA

“Bloomberg and Hollywood are pouring money into this effort and the media is helping to the fullest extent,” Cotton said. “We’ve never had this level of opposition before, not ever. It’s a campaign of lies and distortion, but it’s very well funded and they are playing on the sympathy factor of kids getting killed.”

It's not a slippery slope issue. It's not a mission-creep issue. Tell me how to convince Americans who don't own a gun why we "need" bump-stocks or crank-type triggers that simulate machine guns. Don't bother with telling me that "need" isn't an issue with constitutional rights. I know that, but a big segment of the general public doesn't and those that do don't care. I've talked to a lot of gun owners who are furious at the manufacturers of bump-stocks and trigger device manufacturers for giving anti-gunners an issue to fly like a battle flag.

There's a lot bigger war going on now and bump-stocks aren't even on the radar. Attacking Trump, Republicans and NRA helps the enemy.

Let's Catch The Sickos Who Sent Parkland Survivor Death Threats

Who does this? What kind of sickos send death threats to a shooting survivor?

If you are a gun owner and you are sending death threats to the Parkland survivors, we will find you, we will catch you, and we will sue you

...We aren't coming for your guns, we're coming for your assets.

Why not bring on an author who's an actual legal expert to discuss gun control? That's what Chris Cuomo did on New Day this morning, offering a basic primer on the Second Amendment.

Cuomo said the Second Amendment "gets waved around as a reason not to do anything" and introduced Michael Waldman, a constitutional lawyer and the author of "The Second Amendment: A Biography."

"Let's try to nail down some of the nuts and bolts of this," Cuomo said. "I will offer up arguments in favor of it. It's my right to have any weapon that I want and you are trying to take that from me with any furthers as big a bedrock principle as the First Amendment."

"So, the idea that the Second Amendment gives you an unlimited right to a gun is not in the Constitution. The conservative Supreme Court Chief Justice Warren Burger said it was a fraud on the American people," Waldman said.

    1. Bad idea.

First, it gives credibility to Jones.

Second, Jones will just shout over him and not allow him to get a word in edgewise.

Third, whatever Hogg manages to say will be edited and twisted.

Paul Ryan Refuses To Allow A House Vote On An Assault Weapons Ban

Speaker of the House Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) made it clear during his weekly press conference that fixing the federal background check system was as far as he is willing to go on guns. In other words, there will be no vote on an assault weapons ban.

    Video:

Ryan said, “Of course we want to listen to these kids. We also want to make sure that we protect people’s due process rights and legal, constitutional rights while making sure that people who should not get guns don’t get them. This kid was clearly one of those people.”

Ryan echoed NRA talking point while rejecting the assault weapons ban
Paul Ryan is following the NRA’s talking points. He is blaming the shooter, not the gun, and he is elevating the Second Amendment over public safety. Ryan’s answer was straight out of the NRA, and for good measure, he hid behind the Senate and claimed that he will only allow votes on gun legislation that will pass the Senate.
