She specifically mentions the Roy Moore endorsement. Audience boos.

Right wing pundit Mona Charen had to be protected and escorted by security officers when leaving the CPAC stage Saturday afternoon after voicing her opinion on Republicans who hypocritically support “sexual harassers and abusers of women,” specifically, President Donald Trump and former Senate candidate Roy Moore. She also called French neo-fascist Marine Le Pen a “disgrace.”
Charen was part of a four-person panel at CPAC, the Conservative Political Action Conference, who was asked what riles her up.
“I’m disappointed in people on our side for being hypocrites about sexual harassers and abusers of women who are in our party, who are sitting in the White House, who brag about their extra-marital affairs, who brag about mistreating women,” Charen, speaking about President Trump, told the audience. They reportedly booed her.
“The Republican Party endorsed Roy Moore for Senate in the state of Alabama even though he was a credibly accused child molester,” she continued.
Several people in the audience booed and shouted, “Not true!”
“You cannot claim that you stand for women, and put up with that,” Charen insisted.
Now before you get too excited about this woman you should know that she writes books attacking liberals and the LGBTQ community, and is essentially a fairly terrible person.
She just happened to speak a little truth in a place where truth is defined as an enemy of the people.
CPAC Speaker Lambasts GOP ‘Hypocrites’ Over Trump Sexual Harassment Allegations
ReplyDeleteMona Charen, a conservative political analyst, was booed for her comments and later was escorted by security from the event for her safety.
...Charen, a veteran conservative political analyst and writer, was on a panel discussing feminism when she said she was “disappointed in people on our side for being hypocrites about sexual harassers and abusers of women who are in our party, who are sitting in the White House, who brag about their extramarital affairs, who brag about mistreating women.”
Charen added: “And because he happens to have an ‘R’ after his name, we look the other way, we don’t complain.”
Although she did not explicitly name the president, Trump talked about grabbing women by their genitals in a 2005 “Access Hollywood” tape that surfaced late in the 2016 presidential campaign.
Trump also has been accused...

CPAC draws a crowd of ignorant extremist zealots. It's a terrible group of the most hateful and ignorant in our society.
ReplyDeleteAnd that's why they still invited Sarah long after everyone else stopped calling her....
Delete... "and is essentially a fairly terrible person."
ReplyDeleteand this is why I love you Gryphen!
She's right about Roy Moore, though, and I'm glad one of their own is calling them out for that.

LOVE me some Gryph editorial comments! HAH. Not surprised that she needed to be escorted out, though, given it was CPAC. What's worse, "superior" men thinking women are fair game to be used and abused or women perfectly content to be doormats because "bible."
DeleteHow hard would one have to pull to get Trump’s head out of Wayne LaPierre’s ass? #NeverAgain #NRABoycott
ReplyDelete...I have an idea, Mr. Trump. How about you pull your head out of Wayne LaPierre’s ass and we just ban assault rifles and give all teachers a bonus to cover the cost of their classroom supplies. But if you are really going to ask them to carry guns to protect students, then how about we cap their salaries at the same level we cap secret service agents – that’s about $160,000 per year. Or, like I said earlier, we could just ban assault rifles. Wait a minute. Let me holler that down Wayne LaPierre’s throat so you can hear me.

Off subject - but, that asshole Trump just used a photo of one of the recent victims (in her hospital bed!) as a campaign request.
ReplyDeleteFuck him and may he be impeached or lose when, and if, he actually runs for reelection!
He's truly the most awful person! Detest him and his black, evil soul!
She would have had to give her permission or he could be sued to kingdom come. He wouldn't DARE walk in my room, I can tell you that!

If she's a minor, he'd need her parents' permission as well as everyone in that photo. The older boy looks over 18 and inclined to say no.
DeleteIf memory serves, mlaiuppa, she was one of the very few whose parents are Trump supporters.
DeleteIf that's an older brother and older than 18, then his parents can't give consent for him to be in the photo. He has to sign his own release. Body language tells me he is not fond of Trump and or this photo op.

ReplyDeleteOT?"Friday, in a speech to the Conservative Political Action Conference, Trump acknowledged the markets "did a little bit of a correction."
There is no doubt that the federal budget deficit is going up, and the increased borrowing by the U.S. Treasury is a key reason interest rates are rising as well.
The Treasury Department said this month that it expected to borrow $955 billion in the 2018 fiscal year, which began Oct. 1. The figure is a sharp increase from $519 billion last year and would be the most federal borrowing since 2012, when the economy was still struggling to recover from the recession."

ReplyDelete"The neo-Marxists – they don’t believe in dialogue, they don’t believe in discussion. They believe in stifling the other opinion. But we still live in a semblance of a free society and because of that, it has paved the way for what I believe is going to be the greatest conservative revolution in American history that’s led by young people. That’s for freedom and for a principled approach to defend Western civilization. To say it’s OK to hear something you disagree with. Just because you’re offended doesn’t mean you’re right. That we actually need to be able to hear ideas that challenge our viewpoints. And on that basis, we’re going to run circles around the left. These are unhappy people. These are people that are not upwardly aspirational. They hate this country."
FB>"Those who seek to subvert the will of the majority will work very hard to make it seem like your voices will never be heard. They will make it seem like your votes don't count, like your values are outside of the norm of true American patriotism, that you must show respect to those who show you only disdain. Don't believe it. Cynicism and intimidation are often the refuges of the weak in an effort to make themselves seem strong.
ReplyDeleteBut as we see voters rise up in elections across the nation, as we see a new generation of candidates for office claim that now is their time, as we see even the mighty NRA under siege with former corporate allies scurrying for the exits, it is a timely reminder: NO president...NO interest group... NO political party is bigger than the nation at large.
I have seen, time and time again, in the United States and around the globe, movements rooted in only a minority of the population change the course of history. This is especially true when those seeking change are on the side of justice. But there is something different in this country now. I do not see these protests as the marginalized fighting for fairness in an unjust system. I see it as a majority of Americans who believe in the rule of law, common sense gun regulations, honesty and integrity. They are rising up and realizing that when they speak they are joining a chorus of the majority." Dan the Man Rather -VOTE

Same with the NRA conventions. No guns allowed.

Brody did allow that Trump “is not Mike Pence.”"
It's really strange that when the NRA has a speaking event, or at CPAC, or at a Trump rally... it's a "gun free zone". I wonder why? Probably because guns kill people. #GunReformNow

ReplyDeleteOT? 'Florida House Speaker and 73 Republicans want sheriff to step down'
ReplyDelete"Speaker of the Florida House Richard Corcoran and 73 other state Republicans are asking Gov. Rick Scott to suspend Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel for “his incompetence and neglect of duty” leading up to the recent Parkland school shooting that left 17 dead.
The backdrop: Their request, sent in a letter to Scott on Sunday, comes as Israel faces mounting backlash over his office's handling of the warning signs brought to their attention before the massacre. Scott, who said on Fox News Sunday that the local Sheriff's Department needs to be held accountable, declined the request from Republicans. But he did ask the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to probe the office's response to the Feb. 14 mass shooting, Politico reports."
Sarah did not need security to get her off the stage at CPAC . . . because . . . SHE WAS NOT INVITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHow many years is this Sarah has not been invited to CPAC?
Meanwhile, looks as though Todd and his partner finished NINTH at the Iron Dog. Not bad. Now, poor ol' Todd has to go back home to Sarah and the Daily Palin Freak Show. Serve her right if Todd just kept on going and didn't look back.
It would be easier to count how many times she has been invited and actually showed up. Two? Three?
