Right Wingers and Trump supporters are overwhelmingly the largest consumers of fake news on the internet.

Courtesy of Newsweek:

Fake news published in the U.S. was overwhelmingly consumed and shared by right-wing social media users, a new study from the University of Oxford has revealed.

Research from Oxford's "computational propaganda project" investigated into the sources of "junk news" shared in the three months leading up to President Donald Trump's first State of the Union address last month.

On Facebook, they found that "extreme hard-right" conservatives shared more fake news stories than all other political groups combined, while on Twitter, Trump supporters consumed the most fake news.

"On Twitter, a network of Trump supporters consumes the largest volume of junk news, and junk news is the largest proportion of news links they share," they said.

They should just simply say that liberals are smarter.

Because let's face it, we are.

That is not to say that progressives cannot chase after fake stories as well.

It simply means that as a rule once we discover that they are fake, we do not then make excuses to continue believing them.

The oligarchs and corporations love the Rwingers and Trump voters because they are so colossally stupid and gullible they can get them to vote against their self interest.

    G. You should probably amend your headline to reflect that Trump supporters and right-wingers are also the largest PRODUCERS of fake news on the internet.

I think most people have shared a bad article I. Social media that is satire or whatever. And this isn’t counting the blogosphere which is all unrespected fake news and lies.

I am so sick of the term “fake news”. Seems like everyone supporting Trump constantly uses this excuse to dismiss any criticism of Trump.

I find it both obnoxious and unsettling. It’s a Mussolini tactic. The Duce had his own newspaper before he came to full power. He would issue contradictory statements in the same paper, and just generally used that to sucker more Italians into supporting him. He also had a big personality and was great at manipulating the public. He liked to claim that he was his own man, and that he alone could save the country. He was also psychologically imbalanced, and could not be happy or satisfied even when he got what he wanted.

    Sound familiar?

If you could reason with Trump supporters there wouldn't be any.

I'll bet, though, that Humpty Trumpty won't end up the same way El Duce did.

I think they are trying to force their reality by denying ours.
I mean Huckabee Sanders lies and denies every day for the sake of the cause. At the end of the day, she kicks off her big shoes and laughs at how she held back the press with her Nurse Rachet act.
It's like that movie with where the guy builds a baseball field and they came thing going on in our government. They are trying to make their Harriet and Ozzy dreams come true. Can we really go back to those days when men and women on television slept on separate beds? Haha. Think not. Unfortunately for us, the people in power have one foot on mars as they prepare to abandon this planet and the mess they are making.
