Trump's EPA chief suggests that Global Warming could be good for humans. No, really!

Courtesy of HuffPo:

Scott Pruitt, the administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, alluded earlier this week that global warming may be beneficial to humans, once again questioning the world’s leading scientists who have declared the phenomenon one of the greatest known threats to humanity.

In an interview that aired Tuesday on KSNV, a Nevada television station, Pruitt questioned how accurately scientists could predict the planet’s ideal temperature in 2100, or even this year, and said humans had “flourished” in times of past warmth.

“We know humans have most flourished during times of what, warming trends,” Pruitt said during the interview. “I think there’s assumptions made that because the climate is warming, that that necessarily is a bad thing. Do we really know what the ideal surface temperature should be in the year 2100, in the year 2018?”

He continued: “That’s fairly arrogant for us to think that we know exactly what it should be in 2100.”

This is not a parody folks, this is actually what he said

I have to wonder, is it arrogant of us to note that hurricanes and storms have dramatically increased in their destructive powers?

Or that people all around the country are dying from unprecedented drought conditions?

Is it arrogant to realize that much of the premier beach front property enjoyed by millions will soon be underwater, and that available land mass could be greatly reduced?

Is recognizing the rapidly increasing spread of disease and the loss of entire species of animals also arrogant of us?

Yeah, I think I see some arrogance as well.

And it is embodied by the asshole currently leading he EPA.

Pruitt is just one of many dominionist oriented radical xtians in 'rump's administration. He's doing his part to help push their extreme theocratic-fascist agenda.

The biblical basis behind Pruitt’s War on Climate Change:

splinternews.com/...The Trump Cabinet Has Its Own Weekly Far-Right Bible Study Group

...Ralph Drollinger, a right-wing pastor with a long history of ties to Perry and other Trump Administration officials, claims on his web site to be running weekly Bible sessions specially for the Trump Cabinet. He has praised the new administration for its power to “change the course of America in ways that are biblical.”

….Drollinger praised then-senator Jeff Sessions, who “hungers and thirsts for the Scripture,” for his performance during his confirmation hearing, when he provided a Biblical justification for his draconian views on immigration. “I’ve had the distinct honor of teaching him on this subject, and many others,” Drollinger said.

…. Vice President Mike Pence, HUD Secretary Ben Carson, Education Secretary Betsy DeVos, Energy Secretary Rick Perry, Attorney General Jeff Sessions, CIA Director Mike Pompeo, nominee for Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue, HHS Secretary Tom Price, and Scott Pruitt, head of the Environmental Protection Agency, have all sponsored the Capitol Ministries Cabinet Bible study, according to literature put out by Capitol Ministries.

…. Drollinger described his mission as creating a “factory” to mass-produce politicians like Michele Bachmann, who is on the Capitol Ministries board. “She thinks Biblically,” Drollinger said. “She doesn’t need a whole lot of time to figure out how to vote because she sees the world through a scriptural lens. We need more men and women like her in office.” ...dozens of Members of Congress sponsored Drollinger’s group, including Mike Pence, Mike Pompeo, Tom Price, and Sessions while they were all still on Capitol Hill.

…. Drollinger also argues that climate change is impossible because God promised after The Flood never to do anything like that again.

Drollinger preaches against “radical environmentalism” and that to believe that human activity could have devastating impact on the environment is not just mistaken, but the result of godless pride:

“To think that man can alter the earth’s ecosystem—when God remains omniscient, omnipresent and omnipotent in the current affairs of mankind—is to more than subtly espouse an ultra-hubristic, secular worldview relative to the supremacy and importance of man,”

Drollinger wrote recently. “It follows that we can all rest assured and wholly rely on God’s aforementioned promises pertaining to His ability and willingness to sustain our world’s ecosystem.”

    One more time for emphasis:

“To think that man can alter the earth’s ecosystem—when God remains omniscient, omnipresent and omnipotent in the current affairs of mankind—is to more than subtly espouse an ultra-hubristic, secular worldview relative to the supremacy and importance of man,”

Pruitt, like everyone in Trump's Cabinet and like other agency heads in this administration, is in the pocket of outside interests. Pruitt's owned by the oil and gas industries. He is the last sort of person who should be heading the EPA. Only a GOP Senate would have approved Pruitt and the rest of this bunch of dangerous individuals whose sole purpose in working for the government is to destroy it "from within."

That's what everyone was made to fear so much during the "Red scares" in the immediate years after WWI and then after WWII when the House Un-American Committee and Sen. Joseph McCarthy held sway with their destructive hearings.

Now we have a pro-Russian administration chosen (in my mind, largely by anarchist Steve Bannon) to do the work that many others were accused (wrongfully in almost all cases) of trying to do during those post-war years.

Oh yes it is good for humans to feel the world fluctuate in climate naturally. Yes that is real!It is not good for humans to escalate it, pollute it, nor increase the damage to it. Just like the trump nose pickers of all areas of our agencies they spin it. Take money from public schools and give it to private charter schools so the ceo's can profit while brainwashing your kids. Give more money to the military complex and war for profit defective generals and corrupt military contractors. Allow healthcare for profit and watch your love ones die. Spend our tax dollars as we sleep and our country crumbles and when our so called representatives are so tired and broken.
Yep. Allow our elections rigged and accepted.
Reality tv, shithole movies and those that clap while children are abused and raped, and women and men are abused, and our climate polluted. Clap clap clap clap in congress for your team. Clap Americans and go back to sleep. It will be alright and then the red dawn will shine in your eyes tomorrow. I went to a good movie last week called "Hostiles" and the week before "The Post" both were good movies for humans to see and learn from the mistakes of those before us...

What's arrogant is an imbecile who thinks that his opinions are equal to science. BUt hey, I'm sure he got real serious-like and scrunched up his face and everything while he was "thinking" up this stupidity.

  6. We know every Trump appointee is a disaster. Confirming it over and over doesn't do any good.

He's got his eye on destroying California now. He better step lightly. Governor Moonbeam still has some teeth and he won't take lightly to having our state ruined by Trump's hachet men.
