Jill Stein refuses to fully cooperate with Senate Intelligence Committee's Russia investigation. Hmm.

Courtesy of The Intercept:

The Jill Stein campaign is refusing to comply fully with a Senate intelligence committee request for documents and other correspondence, made as part of the committee’s probe into Russian activities in the 2016 election, according to a letter to be delivered Thursday to the panel by an attorney for the campaign.

The Green Party campaign will agree to turn over some documents, but raised constitutional objections to the breadth of the inquiry, which was first made in November 2017, arguing that elements of it infringe on basic political rights enshrined in the First Amendment.

In the letter responding to committee chair Richard Burr, R-N.C., and ranking member Mark Warner, D-Va., Stein’s campaign has now said it will refuse some of the requests, calling them “so overbroad in reach as to demand constitutionally protected materials.”

The article goes on to say that the Stein campaign did provide documents pertaining to communications between them and "Russia media outlets."

However they are balking at providing the campaign's policy discussions regarding Russia, claiming it infringes on their First Amendment rights.

Personally I think that having access to those documents could prove very enlightening, and hope that both the Senate Intelligence Committee and the Mueller investigation get their hands on them.

I have not trusted Jill Stein from the word go, and I would not be at all surprised to learn that she was deeply involved in the Russian interference in our 2016 presidential election.

She was running for president, doesn't the public have a right to know what her policies were?

they should look at the money trail.

Besides, Mueller is the one that should be looking into her.

Exactly. Mueller's investigation is the only one that matters. Congress/senate are too conflicted, political and corrupt to be anything but a waste of time.

OH DAMN! Well, not surprising, we all knew it, just surprising that it's actually being made official.

I felt that "Bern" came into the picture just as suddenly as Stein and Trump. I still have my suspicions of him. Only time will tell?

That's only because you weren't paying attention. Bernie has been around forever and his campaign was almost entirely funded by donations less than $40. You may not like him, but he was legit.

I think Bernie was legit, but certainly he was used by Russians and their trolls - and still is being used - to ferment discord and division among Democrats.

At some point Democrats need to inform politicians that if they want to run as a Democrat, they need to be a Democrat.

I'm with you, Gryphen. As soon as that picture was published of Jill Stein sitting at a table with Michael Flynn and Putin, something smelled funny.

Also, Stein received over $7 million dollars to fund her recount in 3 states. Stein dropped her efforts for those re-counts. Where did that money really go? And her funded her campaign? Putin goons?

The Senate Intelligence (now there's an oxymoron) "requested" Stein's documents. Forget the request and take it a step further with a subpoena instead. And Mueller needs to step in, too.

Maybe eventually we will all be singing "Lock her up" but that chorus will be for Jill Stein.

Somewhere along the line, the operative Jill Stein was told just when to announce her candidacy and how to play it out. Then she duped people into sending her money so she could "look into" the vote counts. Uh huh.
I smelled a rotten fish when she came on board. We were about to have an election in a typical American fashion and all of a sudden things started to go south Putin style. Say it ain't true. But it is.

  14. You know, if it was me I would probably refuse to be part of either the House or Senate "Intelligence" committees "investigation" too. I'd be fine talking to Mueller, who is an intelligent adult. But Congress in it's present form? That can go fuck themselves.

I'm sure others have said it before but damn, I still laugh at all the liberals that gave her millions of bucks to "investigate election malfeasance". So sweet, and well played Ms. Stein.

She still has millions left from that money grab, and the irony will be that she uses it for legal fees if and when she needs to get herself out of hot water.
