New details about the alleged conduct of White House physician Ronny Jackson emerged on Tuesday night, nearly 24 hours after the first public allegations against him came to light. including a claim that he banged on the hotel-room door of a female employee while intoxicated.
According to four people familiar with a 2015 incident involving Jackson, the doctor allegedly caused a ruckus by banging on the door of one employee's hotel room during an overseas trip, CNN reported. Jackson reportedly caused so much of a scene that the Secret Service intervened out of concern that he would wake then-President Barack Obama.
A former staffer said that the "middle-of-the-night" incident made the employee uncomfortable and that it was "definitely inappropriate," CNN reported.
The incident adds to a series of other allegations against Jackson, who was scheduled to go before the Senate Committee on Veterans' Affairs on Wednesday. The hearing was postponed on Monday, amid multiple allegations stemming from his time as the White House physician.
Some of those allegations include claims of excessive drinking at work, creating a hostile work environment, and improperly dispensing medication, according to a CBS News report published Monday night.
Substance abuse, inappropriate contact with a female subordinates, you might think this would make Jackson a perfect fit for the Trump White House swamp, but that is likely not how the Senate is going to respond to them.
And if Jackson was hoping that Trump had his back, he may not want to rely to heavily on that.

What bothers me is why this crock of an MD has been allowed to stay through so many administrations. Why did President O give him a promotion? Was he that far removed from what was going on? Having a pill pusher as your doctor isn't good. It distresses me as a nurse if these allegations are true and have gone on so long.

DeleteFrom what I’ve read it sounds like this Dr Jackson is an incredible suckup, wonderful to his superiors, horrible to anyone working beneath him. Having spent many years in a job with one of those, I guess I can understand how he’d rise to the top. The one I worked with survived all challengers and so so many of us alerted mgt on our way out but alas, she’s still there.

Here's what I don't get. He was Obama's personal physician as well, and this didn't seem to come up until now. Has he hit a bad time in his life since he was in Obama's orbit, it just seems so odd that a person that is being described as this would in any way, shape or form be associated with the Obama administration and have it be ok. Something isn't adding up at all here. Obama would not have tolerated any such behavior, at all, ever, with the level of integrity O has.
ReplyDeleteI believe he was hired as s White House physician during George W. Bush’s term. My guess is that either there were no problems, or no one knew about them at that time. And when Obama got in office, he just kept Jackson on. It’s not unusual for certain White House employees to be kept on and end up working with several different Presidents over the years.

Drug abuse can destroy a person. It would be interesting to construct a timeline of incidents. I've seen an originally brilliant public speaker twenty years later on another stage. He had famously binged continuously on alcohol, cocaine and heroin in the intervening years. He could barely hold onto the podium and rambled incoherently. Most of the audience laughed, unaware of what he had been. I was nearly crying.

We can't believe it's happening until it's too late, we're in the middle of it and we can't do anything to stop it.
My biggest fear is Trump is only the beginning. We think he can't go lower, get worse, but he manages to find another vile line to cross. I thought there couldn't be a worse president than George W. Bush. When Obama was elected and we were saved from Sarah Palin, I thought the tide had turned and people had regained their sanity.
