Trey "Benghazi" Gowdy just admitted that "Congress has proven itself incapable of conducting serious investigations.

I was thinking this might have been an April Fool's joke, but it appears he was serious.

I really do not like agreeing with Trey Gowdy on ANYTHING, but he is not wrong here.

Congress has wasted millions and millions of taxpayer dollars investigating Right Wing conspiracies, like the supposed IRS anti-conservative practices, Fast and Furious, Benghazi, and of course Hillary's e-mails.

None of those panned out, and in most cases were determined to be ridiculous by most people before the investigation was even launched.

So yes, Congress should simply get out of the investigation game and turn their attention to something they do well.

Just as soon as we determine what that might be.

GOP pollster and wordsmith Frank Luntz talks to group of former Trump supporters who explain how he lost them.

Courtesy of Raw Story:

Pollster Frank Luntz is the GOP darling when it comes to his focus groups for conservatives, but not even Luntz can polish the steaming pile Trump has handed him.

“He was my first choice. But just along the way, he has — I guess you can say he’s lost me,” one focus grouper told Luntz in a video that aired on CBS’s “Face the Nation” Sunday. “I’m not saying there’s no chance of turning but he’s become outrageous. I mean, we all have thoughts, but I think he speaks without thinking.”

The collection of respondents come from Pennsylvania voters where recent polling numbers show a lead for Clinton in the swing state.

“When he initially began to run, he gave voice to a lot of the frustrations that I was feeling about how government is working or more to the point not working,” focus group member Michael said. “But since then, he’s been running as a 12-year-old and changes his positions every news cycle, so you don’t even know where he stands on the issues.”

I think that "running as a 12 year old" comment is spot on.

Despite what it might say in the Russia media THIS is the reality of what is happening with Donald Trump's popularity in this election cycle.

However I am less than impressed that many of these idiots suggest that if Donald Trump suppresses his personality and stays off Twitter that they might still consider voting for him.

It is almost like they WANT to be tricked into voting for the worst possible candidate.

President Obama takes on the blame for the midterm shellacking. "The buck stops right here."

Courtesy of Politico:

President Barack Obama is taking blame for the Democratic drubbing in last week’s midterm elections, saying “the buck stops right here at my desk.”

“Whenever, as the head of the party, it doesn’t do well, I’ve got to take responsibility for it,” the president said in a wide-ranging interview aired Sunday on CBS’s “Face the Nation."

Obama also said one lesson from the midterms was that his party has to do a better job selling its policies.

“We’ve got to reach out to the other side and, where possible, persuade,” he told host Bob Schieffer in the interview taped Friday at the White House before he left on a week-long trip to Asia. “I think there are times, there’s no doubt about it, where, you know, I think we have not been successful in going out there and letting people know what it is that we’re trying to do and why this is the right direction.”

I think this is bullshit.

I think the President is being very magnanimous by taking on the blame for something that ultimately is the fault of timidity by the Democrats and candidates who believed that if they hid from their progressive ideas, and the successes of this President, that it would make them more attractive to the voters.

I think if Democrats would have walked out among their  constituents with their chests puffed out with pride over what they had accomplished and sold it with the same fervor that Republicans used to sell us the Iraq war, many of them could have emerged victorious.

And at least if they lost they could still look at themselves in the mirror and say that they stayed true to themselves, true to the President, and true to their party.

In the least surprising news of the day, Dick Cheney is still a liar.

I have the hardest time imaginable believing ANYBODY from the Bush administration.

But if I had to choose somebody, it would be Colin Powell hands down.

Christine O'Donnell is doing EXACTLY what her idol Sarah Palin told her to do.

From Media Matters:

Perhaps Christine O'Donnell isn't yet ready for prime time -- on the networks or on Fox. As we noted this morning, CBS' Bob Schieffer tweeted that the controversial Republican Senate candidate has backed out of her planned Sunday interview on Face the Nation. Well, the Associated Press reported around noon today that O'Donnell has gone ahead and also cancelled her scheduled Sunday appearance on Fox News Sunday.

And that boys and girls is how a "Mama Grizzly" handles the "Lamestream media."

By running away and hiding in the woods.
