For those of you wondering, the Wordpress website went offline due to an overabundance of traffic.
My web designer, who builds websites for a living, told me that he has NEVER seen that happen before, and certainly never on the first day!
We have already hit numbers that make the performance here on Blogspot pale by comparison.
Not in the old days perhaps, but at least for the last year or so.
Having said that I want to thank all of you for your many years of support, and for the incredible success of today. Even with all of those setbacks.
We are still tweaking the new site, and hopefully you will soon come to see it as your new home, much like this has felt like home for so many wonderful years.

The female writers of the Jimmy Fallon Show (And one special guest.) write thank you notes to Hillary Clinton.
First off I had no idea that Fallon had so many female writers on his show.
Secondly, I am apparently a huge wuss because tears were literally streaming down my face by the end of this.
And third, I will predict that when all is said and done that history will treat Hillary Clinton far, far better than the guy Putin chose to live in our White House.

Open letter from millennial voter to President Obama. You're probably gonna need a tissue.
Courtesy of the Daily Kos:
Dear Mr. President,
As your final term is almost over, I would like to reach out to you to show you my deepest gratitude and appreciation. Although I was too young to vote for you in 2008 and 2012, your presidency has greatly inspired me and I recently casted my first presidential ballot for Madam Clinton.
I was brought up in a conservative Christian, Republican household. I have seen the hatred, mud-slinging, disgusting, and downright deplorable comments thrown your way by Republicans like Trump. I remember the obstruction that Republicans have played to destroy your presidency and ruin your legacy. Through it all, you have remained dedicated, calm, gracious, courageous, and have not given up on your goals and vision for this country.
Your presidency has inspired me to continue my education and aim for the highest, in spite of my difficulties, disabilities, and obstacles. By watching your presidency, I have learned how to properly dialogue with those with whom I disagree with politically. Finally, your presidency has given me the freedom to marry by future partner, whoever he will be.
I wish you the best in retirement and looking forward to seeing the great things you accomplish! I will certainly miss you.
Sincerely,
David P. Neff
I swear that every time I consider the fact that we are losing this amazing man as the leader of our country I feel a wave of emotion that makes my heart ache.
Yes I think that Hillary Clinton will make a fine President, I really do.
But there are some people who are one of a kind, and we just spent the last eight years honored to have just such a one of kind individual as our Commander-in-Chief.

President Obama secures release of American pastor. Bristol Palin aka Nancy French thanks "God," suggests that prayer was what REALLY did it.

Pastor Saeed Abedini |
Praise the Lord! I woke up to the best news this morning. American Pastor Saeed Abedini was just released from the Iranian prison where he had been arrested and held for his Christian faith for over three years!
Readers of this blog have followed his horrible situation since September of 2013 when I first found out about this travesty of justice. Since then, I’ve posted about this American who’d been jailed for his faith many many times. I honestly wondered if I’d ever get to write this post I’m doing now.
But, finally, he’s out.
Yes, finally he is out.
But it had NOTHING to do with a superstitious belief in prayer, because while these idiots were on their knees doing nothing of any consequence, our President was getting shit done!
Courtesy of CNN:
Iran has freed four U.S. prisoners as part of a prisoner swap, including Washington Post journalist Jason Rezaian, Marine veteran Amir Hekmati and Christian pastor Saeed Abedini, senior U.S. administration officials said Saturday, confirming reports first published in Iranian media.
A fifth man -- described as a recently detained student named Matthew Trevithick -- was separately released, U.S. officials said.
The announcement comes on a day when the International Atomic Energy Agency, the United Nations' nuclear watchdog, announced Iran is in compliance with a July deal to restrict its nuclear program.
As a result, at least some international economic sanctions against Iran were lifted. As part of the deal, Iran agreed to release of Rezaian, Hekmati, Abedini and a fourth detainee identified by U.S. officials as Nosratollah Khosravi-Roodsari in exchange for the release of seven Iranians held by the United States for sanctions violations, the officials confirmed.
That's right these prisoners were released as a direct result of the Iranian nuclear deal that President Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry negotiated in the face of harsh criticisms, and even attempts to block it, by the Republicans.
God did not get these men released, this guy did.

You see THAT is how problems are solved and peace is achieved.Remember when George W. Bush said that he consulted his heavenly father before making decisions?
Remember the devastating terrorist attack and two stupid wars that resulted from that advice?
Well THIS President clearly spends less time on his knees and more time using his intellect and consulting with advisers who actually know what in the hell they are talking about.
My advice to Nancy French/Bristol Palin, her employer/mother, and all of the dimwits who listen to them, is get up off of their knees and start sending thanks to the deity who REALLY saved the day.
That's right, our savior Barack Hussein Obama.

From my heart to yours, thank you.
I felt that my first post of the say should be hearty THANK YOU for all of you who donated money to my Pay Pal account yesterday.
As you know it was not my idea that Tuesday be a day to make donations to this blog, nor could I imagine ever asking. But that does not mean it was not greatly appreciated.
Your generosity, and kind messages attached to the payments, were VERY kind, and it made me feel more than a little humble.
I would like you to know that I will not be spending the extra cash on loose women and fast cars. I will instead be spending the money on loose cars and fast women.
Obviously I am joking, mostly because my daughter can smell money for a thousand miles away and will undoubtedly come up with some emergency that can only be solved by emptying my bank account.
I know what you are thinking, "Can't you say no?'
Nope I cannot.
It turns out I love that little pain in the ass, who shoots me her mother's look when I am correcting her, and can NEVER SEEM TO GET HER DIRTY DISHES INTO THE DISHWASHER, too much to ever deny her anything.
Perhaps you would like to know that your generosity, and the money earned from Google ads, in the past have helped to:
all the time occasionally, I could not have thought of a better way to have spent any of that money. (Though I might have at least enjoyed SHOPPING for fast women.)
Anyhow I greatly appreciate that your generosity has allowed me to be the hero in my daughter's life when she desperately needed one. I don't think I could have managed it on just my salary.
So thank you again, and I hope I continue to provide entertainment, humor, and important factual information for many years to some.
Namaste my friends.

- Purchase her a new transmission when her old one fell out of her motor-home on the way up here from Georgia.
- Purchase a ratty old couch that she could plop in the middle of my living room.
- Buy a truck for $500 that I thought would only last the summer, but which she is still driving a year later.
- Buy her a new Apple computer when her old one went belly up.
- Pay for her wisdom teeth to be pulled when she was in too much pain to even get out of bed.
- Purchase a Queen size bed because "I'm a grown woman Dad, I can't sleep in a twin bed anymore!"
- Buy her a new I-Pad for "her work."
- And pay for her gas when she was in between movie and TV gigs.
Anyhow I greatly appreciate that your generosity has allowed me to be the hero in my daughter's life when she desperately needed one. I don't think I could have managed it on just my salary.
