Indian police said they are investigating a popular self-styled godman for allegedly encouraging 400 followers to undergo castrations at his ashram so they could get closer to god.

The country's top crime fighting agency has registered a case against Gurmeet Ram Rahim, known as the "guru in bling" for his penchant for garish clothes and jewellery, over the operations in the country's north.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) said in a statement late Wednesday Rahim is being investigated for criminal intimidation and causing grievous bodily hurt, saying 400 castrations were allegedly carried out.

The guru, who heads the Dera Sacha Sauda organisation based in Haryana state, is already facing trial for conspiracy over the murder of a journalist in 2002 along with claims of sexually exploiting female followers.

The latest case was filed after one of his devotees, Hans Raj Chauhan, lodged a complaint in court alleging he was manipulated into having the "painful" operation at the ashram.

"They were told that only those who get castrated will be able to meet god," Chauhan's lawyer, Navkiran Singh, told AFP on Thursday.

I usually consider myself to be a person of great compassion, but I have to admit that I am having a hard time feeling sorry for these men.

He quite literally convinced these guys to take themselves out of competition so that he could bang all of the females. And they went for it hook, line, and now decapitated sinker.

If you put faith before logic, you open yourself up to manipulation by others. Simple as that.

Iowa GOP Senate candidate Joni Ernst's first TV ad suggests that experience castrating pigs has prepared her for Washington. Does anybody else hear that banjo music from "Deliverance" playing?

Courtesy of the Washington Post:

Iowa Senate candidate Joni Ernst (R) released her first TV ad Tuesday, a 30-second commercial in which she vows to cut wasteful spending by drawing on her past.

"I grew up castrating hogs on an Iowa farm. So when I get to Washington, I'll know how to cut pork," Ernst says in the commercial. At the end of the ad Ernst concludes, "Washington's full of big spenders. Let's make 'em squeal."

Holy shit Elly May, what the hell was that?

Does this woman really believe that cutting the balls off porcine farm animals is the kind of experience required in Washington?

Well I know somebody who better hit the ground running.

Blake Farenthold "Why is she looking at me like that?"
I certainly hope that if elected somebody explains to Lorena Bobbitt here that "cutting the pork" is a metaphoric term and not something which requires sharp implements.

Though I have to admit that the idea of watching certain members of Congress running for the door while covering their dangly bits is not something I would want to miss.

Illinois Republican (Jim Sacia) finally states, for the record, that 2nd Amendment supporters equate guns with their penises.

Courtesy of Raw Story:

“Here is the problem in Illinois,” he said on the House floor. “I love you folks in Chicago. You’re the ones that have the problem, you have a runaway gun problem. Don’t blame the rest of us. This isn’t about Democrats, it’s not about Republicans. It’s because Chicago wants a warm fuzzy. ‘Let’s pass a bill that will eliminate assault rifles.’ Last year there were more people killed with hammers than with assault rifles.”

“Here’s an analogy folks, I ask you to think of this. You folks in Chicago want me to get castrated because you’re families are having too many kids. It spells out exactly what is happening here. You want us to get rid of guns.”

What have I been saying?

Essentially the reason that men fight so damn hard to hang onto their guns is because they have become the substitute for their manhood.

They are afraid that if you take away their guns you make them vulnerable and impotent, and that frightens them to death.

Look let me say this, I live in Alaska where there are actual wild animals no more than a quarter of a mile from me at any given time and I completely understand the desire to have a weapon to even up the odds. (I don't carry one, but then I am Alaskan born and raised.) But if you own a gun, or a bunch of guns, because you feel frightened of your government, or because it makes you feel like man, then you have a serious problem and, in my opinion, should absolutely NOT have access to weapons of any kind.

In other words if your manhood is something metal that you put into a holster, then simply put there is NOTHING manly about you.
