Creationists fought the Law and the Law won!

In one of the biggest courtroom clashes between faith and evolution since the 1925 Scopes Monkey Trial, a federal judge barred a Pennsylvania public school district Tuesday from teaching "intelligent design" in biology class, saying the concept is creationism in disguise.

Three cheers for common sense and logic! The fact that we are still having this debate will forever puzzle the hell out of me! I just don't understand why people cling so tightly to the things which help to keep them ignorant!

Speaking of logic how many of you are surprised by this information?

Jones decried the "breathtaking inanity" of the Dover policy and accused several board members of lying to conceal their true motive, which he said was to promote religion.

A six-week trial over the issue yielded "overwhelming evidence" establishing that intelligent design "is a religious view, a mere re-labeling of creationism, and not a scientific theory," said Jones, a Republican and a churchgoer appointed to the federal bench three years ago.

The real beauty here is that the judge appears at first blush to be more likely sympathetic to the Creationist point of view. He is a Republican and a churchgoer. But this man has a little something called integrity. He put the law ahead of his own personal beliefs.

Now that is a Republican that I would feel comfortable placing my trust in. Thank you District Judge John E. Jones for renewing my faith in the system and allowing me to think kindly of somebody of you political persuasion.

Are there anymore ethical republicans out there? Come on don't be shy. We have cookies.
