A God I don't believe in.

Sometimes people seem really upset when they find out that I don't believe in God. My beliefs are not meant to be an insult to anybody or their faith. I just don't believe in God.

Then somebody asked me what I do believe in. Good question. I thought I would start to answer that question by identifying exactly which gods I do not believe in.

This is Krishna. Krishna was born in a jail cell, he was raised by foster parents, and he apparently died from being shot in the foot with an arrow. Not terribly godlike is it?

Krishna is one of the most well known of the Indian gods. (That is Indian with a dot, not a feather.) I am sure you have heard of the Hare Krishnas. Krishna was a messenger of peace.

Well anyhow I don't believe in him. He seems like a very nice god but he is just not compelling to me. I hate to be a western snob, but many of the eastern religions seems very foreign to my sensibilities. They have long and complicated mythologies which accompany the faith and honestly some of it seems really silly.

If this is your god of choice I mean you no disrespect and hope that your belief fills you with comfort and peace. However it does neither for me, sorry.
