Within the Administration the "Neocons" are arguing with the "Neorealists" on how best to destroy Iran.

NEOCONSERVATIVES in Washington are urging President George W Bush to drop diplomacy with Iran in favour of boosting internal dissent and opposition forces within the Islamic regime.

I will label this group the "slow class". They tend to not learn from their mistakes and constantly do the same things over and over hoping for a different outcome.

Michael Rubin, a Middle East expert at the neoconservative American Enterprise Institute in Washington, said: “The United States doesn’t have a policy on Iran. We should be looking for a way to address the people of the country.”

Rubin accused Rice of being tepid in her support for democratic reform and internal regime change. “I don’t believe Rice has ever put her neck out for freedom when the Soviet Union was dissolving or now,” he said.

The Wall Street Journal argued last week that “neorealists” such as Rice, who support diplomacy as the best way to project American power and interests, were consolidating their grip.

Now it would appear at first blush that this group. the "neorealists", were the more intelligent group within the administration. But I have my doubts. I think that the only difference between these two groups is how quickly they want to gain control of Iran and Iran's oil. The "neocons" are the impatient ADHD group and the "neorealists" are the sneakier less impulsive group. They both desire the same outcome. They are dedicated to establishing our version of democracy in the middle east at all cost. And that means no matter how many Iranian or Iaqi lives are lost, or for that matter how many American lives are forfeited.

These people will not stop until they have been stripped of their power. So long as George W. Bush is in office, and the Republicans control the Senate and the House, they have a blank check to use our military for any means that they desire. Our only hope is for the 2006 elections to get enough Democrats in the Senate to throw a monkey wrench into their plans.
