The Alaskans for Truth website (Remember them?) has some interesting questions for Walt Monegan

Alaska's own ethical militia has taken it upon themselves to pose a few questions to the candidates that are campaigning to be mayor of Anchorage.

The first candidate to respond thus far is Walt Monegan (doesn't that seem somehow approprate?) and he does an admirable job of stepping up to the plate.

Click the title to be taken to Alaskans for Truth and take a moment to get to know Mr. Monegan just a little bit better.

Gryphen, although I do not live in Alaska I am one who wrote letters and donated to the cause. After the email fiasco with Doogan & Dyson...and Les Gara said on CC show that the AG would have to take up the issue of Troopergate I & II...
it seems they AFT has lost "steam"?
Are they still working to find the truth? What is going on? I feel like they kind of dropped the ball on this, Thus reinforcing GINO's minions that SHE did nothing wrong in Troopergate.
I just wonder if they have any plans?

  5. Hi enigma, nice to see you here.

bucks and bron I don't list my e-mail because I just don't like to have to spend tons of time going through and deleting spam and viruses that people like to send me. If you have a question just post it here and I will answer it.

And crystalwolf, yes the AFT have plans. They are going to start being much more visible. Remember they did a great deal of work to get Walt Monegan his hearing which resulted in the "Troopergate" investigation, they were successful in pressuring Talis Colberg to resign, and if not for them Todd Palin would never have been found guilty of contempt of the Senate. All in all it was a very exhausting but rewarding five months.

And please be aware that there is much going on behind the scenes that is not made public. The AFT have not been sitting idly by these last few months. Trust me on that.

Yesterday I thought about AFT all day, I even watched the footage of Linda being interviewed prior to calling for Colberg's head (on a plate).

I love Walt's idea of community-wide public safety. I've worked on public safety campaigns before and I know that on a street-by-street basis folks are looking out for each other, but community-wide is a great idea.

I've worked with Walt, and I can say that he is the real deal -- honest, humble & ethical. I know from conversations with him & his wife that he was totally bombarded with requests from BBC, NBC, CBS -- you name it -- when the troopergate fallout came down, even had a request from the Today show or one of those outfits offering to fly him, his wife & a couple of friends to NYC, stay at a posh hotel, etc., if he'd give them an interview. No dice.

Walt has behaved far more ethically than Alaskans are used to in a public figure!!!! Let's hope that he becomes our mayor and sets a new standard of ethics that we can expect of future leaders. Enough of the freeloaders, grifters & scofflaws in office!

    SMR

    Gryphen,
Thanks for the update on AFT! I wasn't aware of the behind the scenes stuff and that is very good news!
