With the legislative session over I bet you thought that Governor Palin could no longer obstruct progress. Wrong again.

Palin will have 20 days, not counting Sundays and holidays, to decide whether to use her veto power on spending and policy measures. As of Saturday, only 10 of the 61 bills and 29 resolutions approved by the Legislature had been sent to the governor.

Bills commonly wait a week or two before landing on the governor's desk, giving lawyers and accountants a chance to review the legislation.

Sen. Joe Paskvan, D-Fairbanks, carried a bill that calls on Alaska to create an electronic health records system. The availability of federal money to launch the process was a motivator for lawmakers to approve the bill. The Department of Health and Social Services estimates the total cost to the state at $27.5 million, with almost $25 million coming in stimulus dollars if the state requests the money this year. The act offers a match of $10 in federal money for every $1 in state money the first year of the program. The federal match falls to $7 the following year and to $3 the year after.

However, Palin has not included that pot of money on her list of acceptable stimulus package money, citing strings attached.

Her final decision is not expected until May.

Ninety pieces of of unfinished legislative business. Sixty one bills and twenty nine resolutions are still waiting for the Governor to finally find the time out of her busy day of self promotion and preparing to run for president in 2012 to finally do her goddamn job.

Has there ever been a time in the entire history of Alaska that so much was left undone by its Governor? I doubt it very much.

The idea that we have to wait for this self absorbed pathetic excuse for a public servant to finally make time for the people who elected her to her office, and that she can undo all of the hard work done by the politicians who actually stayed at their jobs and tried to get things done, is infuriating.

The fact that she STILL has not signed off on ALL of the stimulus package alone should be enough to start impeachment proceedings against her, since it means that she is keeping services away from the Alaska people for purely selfish reasons.

Sarah Palin needs to be reminded EVERY SINGLE DAY that she works or us.

God can't we just elect Bob Poe now?

How can she run for President in 2012 if she doesn't run for reelection as Gov and doesn't run for Senate or for Don Young's seat?

    Who would she BE?
What accomplishments would she run on?
Having a bunch of un-manageable kids?

If I were Lisa, I would be looking back and I would not think that she has ruled out running for that Senate seat.

  2. Has she signed the bill yet, the one that would pick up the payments to the very small, very aged population of Alaska natives who fought in WWII?

  3. Oh, and Andrew Halcro has a scathing piece on SP today -- she can't run for Governor again, but she can't make it on the national scene either. He's often been critical but this post hits all the nails on the head.

  4. The Halcro piece is a great read.

    What will she do?

Blaming the next GOV for screwing up her amazingly wonderful pipeline, might be her best spin.

Although she will have NO more credentials than she had during the 2008 run, and most of those claims were LIES or exaggerations.

Her only hope is that everything falls apart to the point where there is populist chaos and she rallies all the Joes and racists and takes the white house with torches and pitchforks.

And if that happens, we are all screwed anyway1

    http://www.boston.com/news/education/k_12/articles/2009/04/22/sc_supreme_court_wont_hear_stimulus_challenge/

COLUMBIA, S.C.—South Carolina's highest court said Wednesday it will not hear a lawsuit brought by a high school senior who wanted to force the state to use federal stimulus money intended mostly for schools.

The five-member court unanimously said the Legislature has to first act to spend the stimulus cash that governor Mark Sanford has refused to seek. The court said until then, there is not a controversy on which it can make a decision.

I find this very nteresting. Perhaps a bunch of concerned citizens should file a lawsuit to force the Governor to take the money. Even better if the children do it.

Every day I think, "well, she has screwed up just about as much as is humanly possible", BUT everyday I am proved wrong. Pathetic doesn't even begin to describe her inadequacies, but then what single word does?!

Thanks Ennealogic - the Halcro article is excellent! Sometimes I get so paranoid about this woman and this article is very analytical as to why it just won't happen for her. Whew!

  7. The totally stupid thing is that the switch to electronic medical records is going to be mandatory anyway. The work is going to have to be done at some point, why not accept federal funding to get it done?

If Alaska's medical records are put online, the world would be just a click away from finding out Sarah's & Bristol's medical histories. Not a good idea. No wonder Sarah opposes it!

Sung to the tune of the Stones' chorus: It's just a shout away, it's just a shout away, it's just a click away!
