It was written by Sean Cockerham, and was supposedly a neutral even handed piece about the continued national popularity of Sarah Palin.
Now I do not know Mr. Cockerham and do not want to accuse him of being a Palin-bot or not but......well here let me point out some of the "facts" that I have a little trouble accepting as accurate.
Gov. Sarah Palin returned to the national stage in a big way this past week, rocketing back into the national consciousness with her David Letterman feud, slams on the Obama administration and drama with national Republican leaders.
Okay well I cannot argue with the fact that Palin is back in the news, hell she is all OVER the news!
The passion of her supporters hasn't flagged a bit since last year's presidential election, burning far hotter than that of any other Republican presidential hopeful. They see her as the future of the party, an antidote to President Barack Obama. Yet she remains highly controversial and attracts intense criticism from non-supporters.
Wrong! Sarah's poll numbers have dipped significantly since her run for VP, both here and in the lower 48. I will agree that her supporters are more fervent and frenzied than back then, so the point that her support is "burning far hotter than that of any other Republican presidential hopeful" could be considered accurate. But what KIND of people is she attracting to support her? That is one of the burning questions.
James Carville easily sums up Palin's true attractiveness to the media.
"Both as a Democrat and just as a person who enjoys being entertained, I can't get enough of her. I taught a class on the 2008 election at Tulane, and I had to get the students to stop me from talking about her because it was just too compelling. She doesn't always just sit on the edge of the cliff, she actually falls off it sometimes," he said.
Carville said he doesn't think Palin is an act. "I think the depths of her beliefs are not in doubt, it's how curious and competent she is where the real doubt is," he said. "And it's not just policy. If it's 'no drama Obama,' drama just follows her around."
Essentially she has become a side show attraction. She is the "Lost Boy of Borneo", "Zippy the Pinhead", and the "Bearded Lady" all rolled into one. You cannot help but be amazed and shocked at the constant string of attention grabbing scandals that seem to follow her and her family around. If politics were a movie she would the trailer of coming attractions that preceded the actual show, all explosions, gun fights, and sex scenes to get the viewer's attention.
There's no disputing Palin's power to draw cheering crowds in the Lower 48. An estimated 20,000 people turned out to see her lead a parade in Auburn, N.Y., last weekend. She was featured prominently in interviews on Fox News Channel, CNN and NBC.
Also wrong! I heard from numerous commenter's who were actually at this parade, on both my blog and Mudflats, that the crowd had simply gathered TO SEE THE PARADE! Many of them did not even know Palin was there until they saw her drive by. This is an absolute misrepresentation of the truth and I find it hard to believe it is by accident. Did Cockerham not do ANY research?
But as in the presidential campaign, Palin continues to be very polarizing. On the national level, many seem to either love her or deeply dislike her. Her supporters will hear a Palin speech or interview and declare her brilliantly in touch with regular Americans and their values. Critics dismiss her as not being presidential material -- and worse.
I do agree one hundred percent with this paragraph. We saw this very thing happen with Palin's speech right before the Michael Reagan fiasco. I am still amazed that anybody thought that thing was good. The thought simply blows my mind.
Cheri Jacobus, a Washington, D.C., Republican strategist, said Palin has taken an unfair beating, one that she asserts would not have happened to a male politician. (Did Ms. Jacobus not see how aggressively the blogs went after George Bush, Dick Cheney on the left, and Barack Obama, John Kerry and Al Gore on the right? Gender has nothing to do with this.))
"The woman is worth her weight in gold in terms of fundraising," she said. "Whether it's 2012 or beyond, or she just wants to be the kingmaker and make buckets of money for the party, she really has a wide berth to work with."
I cannot blame this one on Sean Cockerham because he is only quoting this Jacobus person, but this is also incorrect. If it were so true then the C4P'ers would not be scrambling to try and raise money for her legal bills. If she is such a great fundraiser this should be an easy amount to obtain, I believe it is still under a million dollars. If she is going to be of substantial help to the GOP she sure as hell better be able to raise a lot more money then that!
And then there is this concerning Palin's recent kerfuffle with David Letterman.
Ken Sunshine, a veteran New York public relations executive, suggested to the Washington Post that the fight could turn out to be good for both Palin and Letterman.
"Letterman is a master of this, and he's milking it for all it's worth," Sunshine said, citing similar ratings-boosting "feuds" that Letterman has engaged in with Sen. John McCain and Oprah Winfrey. "But people often underestimate (Palin) and underestimate her following. She's exploiting this very smartly. She's speaking to her core base that feels maligned. ... It's extraordinary that she can bring this off."
Bring WHAT off? Making shit up to portray yourself as the biggest victim on the planet? Talking until even those who initially supported you are speaking out angrily against you? Using your children in a transparent attempt to get national attention yet AGAIN? This is "extraordinary"? This is "smart"? When did the bar get this low?
"Poor Mitt Romney. He's probably wondering, 'Where do I get some of this?' "
I am not a fan of Mitt Romney but I am going to give him credit for recognizing that this is exactly the kind of publicity he DOESN'T want.
So I am sure that most of you get my point. Palin's perceived popularity is really contingent on reporters who are willing to kiss her ass and shape the information to make it appear that Palin is a much bigger deal than she really is. And I am saddened to see that there still appear to be some at the Anchorage Daily News willing to fill that role.
The majority of Americans, and thankfully more and more Alaskans, realize that she is just a joke. An old tired joke that has been retold way too many times.
I am going to leave you with this last piece of the article because every time I try to comment on it I find my breakfast starting to come up.
Greg Mueller, a national Republican consultant, said Palin has a huge grass-roots network and will have no problem raising money.
He said Palin is a "softer version of Margaret Thatcher." She can unite the social, limited-government and foreign policy conservatives, he said, and could be just what the voters are looking for after they are disillusioned with the Obama years.
As my good friend AKM would say, I have no words.
The ADN is more nauseating then ever. If my morning routine of coffee, couch, and newspaper wasn't so ingrained...
ReplyDeleteI can not take the few GOP upper echelon’s -who tout Palin as a potential with depth, competence, dignity,- seriously. They want a shiny purty puppet- Bush part deux. Only the jethro's truly believe the hype.
And now, off to coffee, couch, and the Ass-kissin Palin News.....
Thank God I am not alone in my feelings about this deranged article. He is truly drinking her bathwater. The ADN needs to step up to the plate in their reporting of her, they have let her get away with entirely too much. There are some in AK that truly think that she will make it to DC, and they are trying to hang on to her coattails. I have talked to MANY people here and in the lower 48 that know she is a Joke, there are a few crazies out there, but the numbers are diminishing!!
ReplyDeleteo now you know another ADN reporter in her pocket. Will Sean be joining her staff soon?
ReplyDeleteI am so enjoying this whole Palin fiasco. Now the world can truly see who she is. I do think this episode qualifies for "Crazygate."
Is Palin working for CBS? Because she sure has helped their ratings go through the roof! And if Dave sues her, it will be soooo much fun to watch. Can you imagine the "discovery" documents? Maybe Letterman was the iceberg!!!
Most politicians love themselves more than the love their political ideals. Therefore they will remain relatively quiet when it's long before an election in which they will be competing. Or in other words, they will wait patiently to find out what the electorate is going to be accepting of and then modify their views to suit what will get them elected. For the most part anyway.
ReplyDeleteAnd then there is Palin. The shit that spews from her cakehole is what SHE believes is right and she doesn't give a damn what will be acceptable to the electorate when the time comes. Not that she doesn't love herself over everything else that is important, just that she's not smart enough to know that winning is most important.
Palin's current views and priorities are not what the electorate is going to find acceptable IMHO. Thank dog, the U.S. has moved a little bit at least toward the left and socially responsible behaviour which serves the people. Sarah, most likely, will find herself out on a limb while cagey old rightwing whackjobs like Newton will make the necessary adjustments.
I think? I hope? Not for the sake of Newt but for the future destruction of this wacko bitch.
If you read Sean Cockerham regularly, you can see he is not a Palin fan. I think you need to read between the lines on this one. Notice that Cockerham brings up only the most ridiculous "achievements' of GINO's trip to New York. I think he actually wants to remind the readers of how inane SP is. And he is correct about her supporters unwavering devotion. He cleverly and successfully reminds us of the idiotic "issues" her base finds important. I do not see Cockerham discussing Palin's work on the pipeline, AK issues, policy, the economy or anything of substance. He describes her trips using the terms "feud", 'slams', and 'drama!" I thought it was clever. You didn't get it?
ReplyDeleteSo, the ADN has no interest in reporting accurately? Good to know.
ReplyDeleteThe 4th estate is supposed to educate and inform the voting public. Articles like this are a sad commentary on the state of journalism.
Nothing more than ceepee on crack, with a larger audience.
The article should have come with a disclosure.
I also could not believe my eyes when I saw the headline of this morning's paper. THIS is what the staff at ADN deems as headline news??? The article would be more fitting in the 'Obit' section.
ReplyDeleteGryphen when is this iceberg you talk about coming?
ReplyDeleteRemember when Sarah called disgraced Miss California Prejean for a supportive chat? Well, that wasn't just a case of girl bonding. Sarah felt compelled to reach out to another woman who has had incriminating and sexually suggestive material from the "old days" come back to haunt her. Because that is Sarah's future and she knows it. It's making her absolutely batshit at the moment.
ReplyDeleteSarah's material is a mixture of photos and explosive video, doing decidedly naughty stuff that her conservative base will condemn her for.
This material is already in the hands of her enemies AND her supporters.
Right now the best I can guess is that each side is still using Palin for their own gain at this point. The more ludicrous her behavior, the more she makes the Republicans look like crap, which helps the Dems. The more she incites Republicans against "he who must be obeyed" in Washington, the more passionate that fervent nutbat wing of that party becomes, and the more passionately it will vote against the Dems next time.
At some point one or both sides is going to make the decision to hang her out to dry. It's interesting if you view this as a chess game and try to figure out who is gaining the most from 1) allowing her to be out and so visible right now and 2) (in the near or farther future) discrediting her with the embarrasing mixed media blackmail material which will surely be released at some point.
Or maybe that's just it - maybe she's already being blackmailed and her book advance will be used to pay for secrecy around this issue.
I'm going to post as anonymous because I can't reveal more right now, I'm just a player sitting on the far sidelines who knows a little about what is happening behind the scenes. I wanted to post to give your commenters some hope - that there is a game changer which will be in play at some point, and it has nothing to do with those more traditional "ethics violations." We're talking about completely alienating even her hardcore base. (Hopefully. But you never know. The fervent Scarah lovers might just say, "Well, we've all done things in our youth that we're not proud of..." Problem is, there is material from her youth (back when she'd do anybody to get a job in journalism, which didn't work out so well) and also from her more recent marital transgressions (she was a public figure by then and more people were paying close attention to her - um, carryings on.)
Hopefully this will all come to light before we're all old and gray.
I commented on this article in ADN last night. I was so nauseated by it, my comments were probably a little disjointed. ;-) I pointed out that as a "small town girl" myself, I know everyone loves a parade (just as you did Gryph) and that out of the 20,000 who came, maybe 19,990 were there for the parade & the remaining 10 would have been there whether Palin was or not. Said Palin is a falling star & the article was pretty sad.
ReplyDeleteThe media is more than kind to Teflon Barbie and it makes me ill. Oh for the days of true investigative reporters. They've become bloggers. Thanks Gryphen! You and the rest of the gang keep me sane. (sort of) :)
Wow! Thanks Anonymous 10:12, you've revived my hope and prayers!!
ReplyDeleteKathleen Parker wrote an article about her June 10,that that sums up Palin nicely.
ReplyDeleteShe cannot get it together.
Wether for her state or for national office, she has learned Nothing since Nov.4th.
Her state has the highest rape rate in the US and she is complaining about a commedien's remarks?
No one is asking her about that.
Those of the kinds of things that this reporter should be covering when discussing Palin and her feud with Lettermann.
This article is pathetic. When I read it I thought A) gag, and B) wow, he sure cherry-picked his quotes!
ReplyDeleteThe ADN sucks.
Now I am in the land of REAL newspapers, and there have been interesting articles here about the Exxon angle, particularly as it pertains to Exxon's pipeline here in Canada. Per my husband, the Canadian gov was dragging its feet a bit on permitting & such (just like Tom Irwin & the gov's other minions!), so this was just the wake-up call the Canadian government needed. Exxon playing Alaska to get what it wants/needs from both Alaska and Canada.
Of course they would not dare to write an article with that angle in the ADN.
My husband and I were the sorts that had to have our leisurely perusal of the paper with morning beverage (coffee for him, tea for me), but after the pathetic coverage of the Anchorage fall rallies I canceled my subscription. What's the point bashing the ADN if you're not willing to put your money where your mouth is?
I offered my parents unlimited magazines, subscriptions of their choice, if they'd cancel their subscription, but they are firmly in the "all talk, no walk" camp when it comes to ADN.
Wow, a news article that is biased and not quite true? Things taken out of context and spun to emphasize the writers perspective and beliefs?
ReplyDeleteHow come no one gets this wound up when this happens on the "other side" of the press?
Like it or not, Sarah appeals to a certain section of the nation. That will never change, and as her skills improve so will her chances at the gaining the crown.
If you don't think gender had any play time in the gory presidential race, then why was so much emphasis put on her clothing? Even Hillary had to deal with that when she was running against Obama., and know it has come up again.
The more adversity Sarah overcomes, the more media types she slaps down, the more popular she will become. It makes her real in the eyes of middle America.
One more thing. I was in Arkansas the night Clinton won the race. The residents there whooped and hollered; not because he was president, but because he was leaving Arkansas.
Reagan, Clinton, and Obama all shared one thing, the media loved them. Sarah may be next.
Peace
Please IGNORE the headline and just read the ADN article by Sean Cockerman! I have written articles for newspapers, and I can never put the title on the article - the editor gets to do that. I see nothing but cleverly-worded snark from Sean re GINO. Maybe it's just me.
ReplyDeleteI'm really not interested in her carry on.
ReplyDeleteI'm interested in the fact that she cannot speak in complete and correct English.
She is not a good manager, and has no grasp of the larger political world.
She will be another GW Bush.
And if she gets out of Alaska, god help this country.
Boy, oh boy! I sure am glad I had just swallowed my last sip of coffee when I read the last line: "He saaid Palin is a softer version of Margret Thatcher. ?!?!?!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIf anything she is a 'softer version of Adolf Hitler'!!!
Anon @ 10:16,
ReplyDeleteNow that's more like it! Except that I can't for the life of me understand why the suggestions you are making need to be kept under wraps for now. Are you afraid of a lawsuit for defamation of character or something?? I can't imagine how revealing the ugliness she has in her background will destroy any possibility of destroying her.
And I do appreciate that sometimes a case must be patiently built, as apparently our Gryphen is doing now. However, both Gryphen and you must understand too that it's starting to wear thin as it wears on our nerves.
So dear, Palin/infidelity? Bristol/Track? Bristol/daddy? Something really, really downright rightwing ugly? Beastiality? Incest? Rape? Witchcraft? I assure you, we can all handle it.
Sarah reminds me of another politician. Anyone know anything about American history? Anyone remember Joe McCarthy?
ReplyDeleteAll the talk about the polls, the polls......sigh. We all know that the Queen's sheeple put out the call to "Freep the polls." They use proxy servers to stuff the ballot box....they can amass big numbers for "Her Highness", but what does it mean? NOTHING! They are only kidding themselves. It is hysterical to watch! They put out little message.."Oh , Sarah has fallen behind......get out the VOTE! So you have people in basements sitting for hours voting over and over on a meaningless poll. Anymore-the only polls that they do not rig are telephone polls. The recent Gallup poll called 1,015 people and asked who the new voice of the Republican Party was. Guess what?? Four people....yes 4 said Sarah Palin. That's about 1/2 percent! That's a very accurate representation of how America REALLY feels about her. She is nothing but a joke now. A celebrity, YES....Presidential matierial.....NO!
ReplyDelete@10:16 A.M., I have NO DOUBT that that what you say is true about Palin and sexually incriminating photo/videos. I have wondered about it since Palin was heralded by the GOP.
ReplyDeleteThis is true of every "Christian beauty queen/wannabe beauty queen" I have ever known. Okay, I have only worked with 2, but both ended up in trouble with the law, being treated for mental illness, AND had explicit nude photos which came back to haunt them (and showed their own hypocrisy as they lectured and judged everyone else on morals).
Oh, Anon@10:16. You know who is VERY good at getting to the truth of such matters is Larry Flynt. Maybe he's already on the case re: Palin and "incriminating" photos/vid.
ReplyDeleteWe must remember that there are people in the GOP who know Sarah very well. They're the ones who called her a wackjob (I would LOVE to know what prompted that!), who let us all know that she refused to be prepped for interview and that she knew appallingly little about everything except how to cook moose stew. They thought they could control her and discovered they could not. An idiot they can control is fine (think W); but an idiot who refuses to listen to them? Nah. That's why the "beltway GOP" as the Sea of Pee calls them are freezing Sarah out.
ReplyDeleteHer base is fanatical and very vocal, but it is very small. She'll never be allowed to win the GOP nomination. My worry is that they might put her on the ticket as the VP candidate again, to satisfy their crazy base. It's past time the media stop giving her a free pass for all the divisive, ugly things she says. She has been treated with kid gloves because she's a woman and because she cries every time the play gets rough. Ah, if only there were an incriminating photo of her floating around out there! Unfortunately, I think we'd have seen it by now.
To Anonymous at 10:12. Your comments in your last paragraph ring true with the comment on The Alaska Report saying that "an iceberg is coming to the Palins." (Not Sarah.....but "the Palins.") We have all heard rumors of infidelity in that family for years. Hoping it all comes out along with the information about Trig.
ReplyDeleteThis piece of drivel by Sean is WAY BEYOND unbelievable. Is he the reporter who was dating Ivey Frye (one of Sarah's pals who followed her to Juneau and was in charge of babysitting, among other things)? Sean, just like Sheila T and apparently everyone else at the adn, is lobbying for a job with Sarah. Can you blame them? Their industry is going under and she hires journalists. Heck - maybe Sean can be the next Meg Stapleton, or Bill McAllister or Rhonda McBride or Sharon Leighow or -- his name escapes me - who was the adn's editor during the gov's race that she straightaway hired and sent to DC just as soon as she won? Can someone, anyone in America - stop writing about her clothes and her drama filled life and actually cover the stories that are worth covering regarding her - starting with the media's fall down flat prostration in her presence? Especially conscience-ridden rags like the adn? I will shed NO TEARS when someone finally closes the door on this poor, pathetic sham of a paper. They are responsible for giving Sarah to the State and now to the nation. Hope they're hanging their collective heads in shame - but they're not - like Sean, they're looking up new words in their thesauras for "rocketing" to describe Sarah's appeal and poll numbers. One more grand case of a total lie. So 20,000 people in Auburn believed what John McCain's handlers said about her. So. I'd like to see her try to get 2,000 Alaskans out to support her.
ReplyDeleteOh. Wait. We already tried that. When she was running for VICE-PRESIDENT. And how many showed up? A couple hundred - making the ball room look wide and EMPTY.
Alaskans are sick, tired, disgusted, and repulsed by Sarah and her antics. And I speak as a conservative, Republican, and an evangelical.
Go figure. Margaret Thatcher indeed.
Even though I hope that David Latterman tears into Palin even more for her direct attacks on him (accusing him of being a pedophile is a character attack I would take her to court over) I will admit all of this this could have been avoided by one word... again... as in "knocked up again". At least that way she could not have fabricated the 'assault on my 14 year old' story. I wonder where her outrage was over any of the other jokes made by comedians. Conan's joke about "keeping the players out of her daughter's penalty box" should have outraged her even more since by her own standard of which daughter was at the game the joke would have involved the gang-rape of her 7 year old. Anyone with any intellegence knew which daughter was being joked about, yet she and her base have tried to use this to cover for her plagerism controversy.
ReplyDeleteThe woman seems to think her shit doesn't stink, and her base (all what... 7% now?) will gladly do anything to be the ones to clean it up behind her. The sad part about (the majority of) her followers is that they are what I like to call "wanna-be" conservatives. In the deep south where I live you can hear the poor, racist, "christian" people (they say they are christian, but so many don't even know the story of their own religion or the rules they are expected to follow) who day after day talk about how great it will be when (not if) they come into money or power and are able to MAKE people conform to their beliefs. Did any of these people take civics classes? (or is that just not taught anymore). These are the fanatics that she has following her. This type of person scares the living daylights out of me, and they are the ones she has total devotion from.
There are very few things that I expect from our politicians anymore. I want my officials to do the job they are elected to as well as they can. I expect them not to attempt to ignite a civil war between members of our own country, yet so many of Palin's supporters seem to want nothing but a war between the classes. For any elected official to not attempt to stop this type of rhetoric shows their lack of true support for this great nation.
It seems to be time for the citizens of this country to take action to discredit these nutcases (and yes Sarah... you most definitely fit the nutcase description). I guess we need to take everything these people do and keep it before the attention of the people. If you know something about these dangerous people please share the information with others. It is time we put a stop to these people abusing this country.
To anon. at 10:16 - I do not think anything will matter to her base. They are in a cult, and the cult members are always the last to know. If SP is on film wrestling naked in the mud with bimbos, faking a pregnancy, wrecking marriages, or anything short of taking an axe to young children (and even then I wonder) - she will be forgiven. They will "love the sinner" even more.
ReplyDeleteSad, but true I fear. The same degree of intellect was present in the poor sobs who literally drank Jim Jone's poisened kool aid (en masse!) and that is the type of people we are dealing with, aka Sarah's blind followers/cult.
A softer version of Margaret Thatcher? What a misrepresentation! I'm a Brit, not a fan of Mrs Thatcher, but she was one helluva of a leader. As our Prime Minister she was farsighted, courageous, principled, knew exactly what she wanted and got it, and she had the courage to do the right thing when Argentina invaded our territory in 1982. She was educated too, she has a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Oxford University and also qualified as a barrister (trial attorney) specialising in taxation.
ReplyDeleteComparing Sarah Palin to Margaret Thatcher could almost make this far-left liberal a fan of Mrs T. The only possible conclusion is that Mr Cockerham doesn't know what he's talking about. Absolutely the only thing SP and MT have in common, is that they're both loved and loathed in equal measure.
Anon@10:16 when I first started reading your post I was like "oh no another bs'er" but after reading the whole thing...I'm just sitting her pondering what you said, and I do believe you might be "the real deal". Your post does have the ring of truth to it. And I really hope this info comes to light "before we are old and gray" lol!
ReplyDeleteNow, question for ya...Gryphen has "secrets" and on Alaska Report "the iceberg" awaits. The info you are talking about is separate from these? When these come out, what will happen to the info you are talking about? Will it become available? Considering her base (and who is being drawn ie: Gryphens article above) why are they holding this info back? Why not get rid of her now? Blow her out of the fricken water? One less wingnut to worry about?
Why WAIT???
humm, not good anon @ 10:16 AM. Let me get this, you are telling us that so we what??
ReplyDeleteThis is a tryout. If this is true it begins to circulate to be discredit because there is no proof and, in any case, people get over the shock and get disentitize and acepting of her "flaws". More power to her. If this is false, someone takes the bait and begins looking for ways of proving it. again, more power to her.
Sarah is the bizzare mother of trig, can someone prove that?
Forever.
Oh, please, oh, please anon @10:16, I hope you are right. As much as I agree with James Carville about Sarah's entertainment value, I think any politician like her is extremely dangerous, because of her ability to incite the wingnuts into violence. Her lies, ignorance, and hypocrisy have no place in politics. She already had one of her fans (VON BRUNN) commit a vicious hate crime and kill an innocent man. She is an awful mother who regularly uses her children for her own gain. If indeed she was pregnant with Trig, she endangered his life be flying thousands of miles leaking amniotic fluid.
ReplyDeleteI always believed the National Enquirer story about her alleged affair with Todd's business partner was true, because she never denied it. We have come to see that Sarah reacts to everything and anything, and on this one...crickets.
I don't see Sarah's hardcore base giving up on her regardless of what is on video.
ReplyDeleteSarah could be choking puppies to death with her bare hands and her base would just say, "that is what she will do to Obama"
I hope videos are released that end her chances of ever getting elected..... to any office
"Greg Mueller, a national Republican consultant, said Palin has a huge grass-roots network and will have no problem raising money.
ReplyDeleteHe said Palin is a 'softer version of Margaret Thatcher.'"
Sorry, NO, she is the "stupider" version of Margaret Thatcher.
And sorry as I feel for you Alaskans, Sarah is the best comic relief I've had in years. I will have a sadz when she goes into the dustbin of history.
The DC GOP fundraiser raised the least amount of money in years I have read. The figure has been printed, but it is very small.
ReplyDeleteSarah Palin is a christian in name only.
ReplyDeleteSince appearing in the national limelight, I have not seen or heard anything that would lead me to believe she adheres to any Christian values. I, for one, would be very happy to never hear or read another word from this self-centerd egomaniac.
My wishful thinking wants to believe 10:16 am. You seem like you could be credible. I just can't put that much into what you are saying. There is so much teasing going on. "The game changer which will be in play at some point" says nothing, it's more like a tease. It could be true, but it's true whether someone taunts with that kind of talk or not. You said nothing.
ReplyDeleteHas Gryphen seen any video or documentation? Talked to someone he trusts and knows well, that saw anything? Talked to those involved?
Very sincere people could be fooled into believing someone else saw something. It's all too far removed.
Even if mixed media/videos exist there is no guarentee it will ever be released by either side. Those things happen in politics. Sarah looks like she is doing a terrific job of doing herself in. Does she need any help? If there is no damning evidence I think she is FIRST to take out Sarah. SECOND the GOP. THIRD are the Dems. FOURTH happenstance. Hope for the icebergs can be a huge distraction.
Any keepers of the so called evidence have political and or monetary motives. Either way they know the value of such items will change. Find out what their hang ups are or it is just another game. Someone could release a grainy shot of something just enough to look like it could be red meat, any little thing, but not give it all a way. No one is willing to do that?
If she is already being blackmailed and is to pay up that way, you say both sides have the evidence. She is paying off both sides and any back up? I don't see how a 15 million dollar book deal could cover that. Her advance is no big deal in the book industry.
What if the big iceberg has to do with her dealings in the energy schemes she's been cooking up? Something is happening right now that she does not want us to see. She'll give us sex pot or the screw ball librarian. She won't actually say anything. It's all pretty much smoke and mirrors. She has been in big oil country and she is attracting and gathering support from the crazy loons, like the ones to protest in CBS in NYC. It's hinted that she is returning to Alaska, how true is that? The ADN has written a lovely article for her. But everything Palin stinks.

Marjorie Dannenfelser does NOT like being outted as the master con-artist behind the faux Palin supporters ... but that is what Marjorie is.
hey if both sides have this material the dem side should hang her out to dry before she can fund raise to much for the repub party.
ReplyDeleteand if she goes batshit crazy stressing over this,so be it, it's her own hole she's digging. No wonder she's fundraising for legal fee's, lol, this crap is probably part of those legal fees, if she falls on her face politcally she will be stuck big time, eh? or maybe she's paying blackmail fees with it, also, too. OFF THE BACKS OF HER SUPPORTERS WHO WILL DROP HER LIKE A HOT POTATO, LOL TOO FUNNY!
THANKS FOR THE INSIDER INFO! you made my day!
She rallies the base and draws the funds. Why would the GOP toss her now. They will ride this out as it's way too early. Eventually she will find herself under the bus but it will be sometime yet. GINO, GOP -- they're all the same -- users and abusers of each other.
ReplyDeletePuleeze- we need some relief. Puleeze tell us the iceberg has not melted. Please tell us why McAllister was demoted. Puleeze tell us this will be over. I'm starting to think she is all powerful. The one who must be obeyed.
ReplyDeletePULEEZE PULEEZE. I am totally worried abut our country. We must stand up to these freaks. PULEEZE!!!!!!!!!!!
I really think that you should write up what you are saying and put it in the Letters to the Editor section. I wish all of you bloggers would consider doing this. It is outrageous what they are saying. The GOP does NOT consider her the future of the party?
ReplyDeleteAre they trying to just kiss her ass?? Because I think her supporters are a very small fringe nut bunch, sorry..... Also all the surveys and polls have shown that as well.......
A recent survey asked "who is the leader of the party" and Sarah only got 4 votes out of 1000 people! And in another recent poll (FOX), she was getting like 20% of the Republican vote. That is not a party leader. What is with this guy Sean?? I find his article very disturbing because it is not based on facts - using current surveys or polls! Someone should correct him....
Sarah Palin = Crazed Carnival Barker.
ReplyDeleteI'm a lone independent from a big family of Republicans, and thankfully ALL of my family members have been able to see right through "Sarahcuda" from day one. The latest drama over Letterman just confirms their belief that she is completely unsuited for national political office.
I hope 10:16 is right, but I have given up hope. But I really hope you are right. She is the scariest politician I have ever seen. I don't know how anyone can like her and want to put national matters in her care. I don't know which is more scary - Scarah or her followers.
ReplyDeleteI would love to see her stopped through any method and a big sex scandal with photos and more would be fanatabulous!
As much as I wish it was true, I am not buying it. It would have been out as soon as it was discovered. Offering proof to connect the dots in any of her other "gates" takes research and people willing to go on record. You have to make people actually care that the state paid for her house or that it is not okay to cover for a pregnant daughter. You have to sell those stories to the people. Everyone loves naked photos of celebrities. That is something that the Enquirer would have found and shown during the election.
ReplyDeleteNaked photo rumor=red herring. Stay focused people.
ReplyDeleteI agree that everyone should stay focused on Sarah Palin's policies, absolutely. Now, please remind me: what are they today?
ReplyDeleteI tend to agree that if there is something "out there", it needs to come out, otherwise people need to shut up.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, SP was obviously a very "POPULAR" girl in school (translation anyone?). None of us have led 100% of our lives that we would want exposed.
Photos?
Video?
Affairs?
If there is an iceberg, it undoubtedly is information that happened way back when she was doing pretty much anything to get a job.
It would not surprise me if she'd had affairs. TAHD seems a bit weird to spend much time with. But then again, this is all innuendo.
I can't see the GOP letting her hang around because she can raise $$$. She isn't raising that much. She is wildly unpopular except for the cult followers, the mentally ill and the cemetery voters.
They can e-vote all they want, but the Sea of Pee-ers can't win elections.
And if there is real legitimate dirt out there, the voters of the state of Alaska have a right to it so they can decide if this CINO/GINO is an appropriate choice to be governor.
Her base would vote for her if she strangled a puppy on TV and then ate it.
They're as sick as she is.
I'd love to see something really big coming down the road but until it's backed up and out there, it's difficult to speculate.
But no, nothing SP could have done would surprise me, ever.
Anonymous@2:59pm
ReplyDeleteNo knowledge but I agree that wouldn't do it.
The Sea of Pee-ers wouldn't care about that in the past. In order to destroy her, it has to be something other than just dirty pics.
But like the rest of the posters, why not just put the info out there if there is proof? I cannot figure out what waiting would do.
Kat: I'd like to point out that the City of Auburn reports that there were 10,000 people at the parade, not 20,000.
ReplyDeleteAnother thing, the cuty reports that 5,000 people stuck around to hear what Palin had to say.

has global warming melted Gino's iceberg? will Gino's secrets go to the bottom of the sea, never to be found?

Sarah reminds me of another politician. Anyone know anything about American history? Anyone remember Joe McCarthy?
*******************************
Interesting factoid: The infamous Senator Joe McCarthy was a close friend of Greta Van Susteren's father. He actually lived with her family for a good amount of time when Greta was growing up in Wisconsin. You can find this info on Wikipedia. Fairly chilling given (Scientologists) Greta's and her husband John Coale's intimate involvement with the Palins.

ReplyDeleteIf you have any evidence, bring it out. At least put a blogger name to your comments.
Otherwise your anonymous posting is easily taken for rumormongering and is simply the type of hiding behind anonymity that allows wingnuts to justify the outing of credible anonymous bloggers.
Sarah Q:
ReplyDeleteAnd I do appreciate that sometimes a case must be patiently built, as apparently our Gryphen is doing now. However, both Gryphen and you must understand too that it's starting to wear thin as it wears on our nerves.
Wrong, it is not wearing thin. I suspect that Palin reads blogs and I think (and Hope) that it is killing her and her minions NOT knowing exactly what some people may have on her.
Don't think that a defamation of character lawsuit could ever be filed by Palin because you, she has NO character.
Keeping anything under wraps until read to be sprung is a very good strategy. Palin won't have time to prepare any kind of defense. Who knows, maybe if she knew, she could possibly put that information out first and then look for public forgiveness and sympathy (she is Really good at that).
I know that it isn't nice to wish bad things on people but, most people I know aren't thinking about being POTUS and aren't so self absorbed as Palin.
This rumour of videos and photos has got to be a plant from her supporters, trying to get us to talk about it so they can use it to laugh at us. Stay focused!!

HOW BIZARRE!! Gryphen, I read your short comment on Iran, looked at the photos, came back to the page with your comment on Iran, and clicked on post a comment. A screen came up saying that the page didn't exist, and then your comment and link to the pictures about Iran disappeared. The page won't come back up. SPOOKY!!!
ReplyDeleteThe flickr page contained a picture of full frontal male nudity that I did not see the first time I checked so I deleted the post.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry, there is no conspiracy I just did not feel that it was in good taste to link to a page that had such an unexpected surprise.
If the iceberg is some naughty Sara photos in her prime.. TRUST me her base will eat it up..
ReplyDeleteMore photos to hide in their secret little photo stash of her legs and lip lickin'
Yes they are that sick
(and they are all in uproar of women's rights to dignity in the media - LetterGate - but if Palin were a hag politics would be of no interest to them - they need that visual stimulation)
Hope this 'berg just doesn't feed their sickness
I understand, but actually, I thought it was a very artistic picture, nicely composed. Then again, my father was an artist, so I have been exposed to nudes all my life. I tend to evaluate them in the artistic sense.
ReplyDelete"The majority of Americans, and thankfully more and more Alaskans, realize that she is just a joke. An old tired joke that has been retold way too many times."
ReplyDeleteWhen are you Alaskans going to impeach this governor?
I don't understand why she is still trotting around "representing" you all. It seems dangerous to have her in office.
She is dangerous to all living things. But for some reason, Alaskans don't seem to be too bugged about her.
ReplyDeleteIn a way, for us in the Lower 48, it's kind of a relief though. We sure don't want her down here polluting our air.
RE: the iceberg. I am tempted to believe there is a story out there. I have no idea what it is, but from her behavior just over the last 8 months, she undoubtedly has had some really nasty experiences and knowing her, she would document them for posterity.
I'd prefer it was something really good like embezzlement, fraud, forgery, or just impersonating a human being.
She needs a stretch in a Federal Prison to shut her mouth but it needs to be for a real bad act. And I'll betcha she's got some great history stories.
'...the point that her support is "burning far hotter than that of any other Republican presidential hopeful" could be considered accurate.'
ReplyDelete**************
She's burning all right, but it isn't her supporters who are responsible for the flames. It's allll Sarah, torching her own political career every time she opens her mouth.
Sarah Palin has been pulling this crap for more than 12 years, according to these:
ReplyDeletewww.sarahpalinexposed.com/wp-content/uploads/Palin-2006-Vetting-Document/
We're the ones buying into it; letting her get away with it.
What is that old plum about getting the government we deserve?
Good god I hope not.
The 20,000 number came from Meghan Stapleton, who had ample reason to claim a larger turnout. She's a sycophant to Sarah... it was probably said as much to pump SP up as to convince the dinner hosts to invite her, again, even though it is sure that she made them all feel like pimply high-schoolers. Several times.
ReplyDeleteThe McCain campaign inflated numbers for Palin when Obama was getting gigantic crowds.
ReplyDeletePalin was being promoted in as attracting large crowds. She was in an old folk village in Fld. They gave away "tickets" and gave ppl rides. There was never a crowd picture but they said 20,000 when it looked much, much less. Also different reports.
I was just in Dayton Ohio, I stayed not far from the Nutter Center where her VP candidacy was announced and I was told by several people that people has to be bussed in for the event because not enough people showed interest. Also, the whole time I was there not one person even seemed interested or asked me about her.
ReplyDeleteLast week, a terrorist who admired Sarah Palin killed someone at the Holocaust Museum. All this talk about Letterman mitigated the impact of that.
ReplyDeleteLast week, Sarah Palin got in bed with the one oil company that most Alaskans despise. All this talk about Letterman deflected that, too.
Before that, she plagiarized Newt Gingrich. She really had a disastrous week from a PR perspective. The faux fight with Letterman was some PR person's attempt to cover that up. Did it work?
Ha... C4Pers saying it doesn't matter if there are racy photos of Palin...
ReplyDeletePoliticians get past the youth stuff all the time.
This won't stop her either.
Ridiculous

ReplyDeleteAMEN!
Did anyone see the "Playboy" picture of SP that was on the official site the day she was announced? I did, but didn't think to save it and by the next day it was gone.
ReplyDeleteSarah was dressed like a bunny with her tailfeathers showing because all she was wearing was a thong. She looked back at you over her right shoulder with a come hither smile. Under her eyes were the black marks that football players wear.
I saw more of her tush that I needed to see. And remember, this was on the official Governor's page.
That 'vetting' site is very interesting! Thanks Brett, 7:31!
ReplyDeleteAs someone who lived in Britain at the time Thatcher was in office, I take great exception to GINO being mentioned in the same sentence as Thatcher. Yes, she was a Conservative, but she was a well educated, intelligent woman. She was principled and hard driving. You didn't have to agree with her but most people did respect her. I know I did.
ReplyDeleteLet's hope 10:16 has it right and that blinking iceberg shows up soon and takes all the Palins out. The word trash doesn't even begin to describe them.
Midnightcajun@11:16: "They thought they could control her and discovered they could not." That's what they said about Hitler.
