Just how much did SarahPAC raise for the Twitter Quitter, before she quittered?

Sarah PAC, the political action committee formed by Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin earlier this year to maintain her national profile, raised $733,000 in the first six months of the year, according to reports filed with the Federal Election Commission today. (So in six months the PAC was only able to raise a little over $100,000 a month? So where is all of this mythical fundraising ability Palin is supposed to posses?)

During that same time period, Palin spent $276,000 --largely on fundraising appeals and consultants -- and ended June with $457,000 in the bank. None of Palin's contributions came from political action committees, an attempt -- seemingly -- to preserve her outsider and reform credentials.

Palin's largest expenditure went to "Edonation.com/Campaign Solutions", the fundraising company run by Becki Donatelli and based in Alexandria, Virginia. Sarah PAC doled out roughly $106,000 to the firm for fundraising during the first six months of the year. Donatelli and Palin parted ways in late April.

Palin also paid several Sarah PAC staffers monthly stipends including former Republican National Committee finance director Timothy Crawford ($6,000/month), personal/political spokesman Meg Stapleton ($4,000/month) and PAC spokeswoman Pam Pryor ($6,000/month). Palin also made a series of $8,000 payments to IzzyLene Consulting, Stapleton's Anchorage-based consulting firm.
(Now here is a question that I will just throw out there. First is there a cap on how much the PAC can pay to an employee per month. And second is it possible that the PAC got around this limitation by only giving Meg Stapletongue $4,000 a month in pay while funneling another $8,000 to her through her consulting firm? I mean considering how often Meg was called on to lie for the Governor you would think she would make substantially more than a mere $4,000. Don'tcha think?)

Palin made two campaign contributions during the first six months of 2009. She gave $5,000 each to the re-election races of Sens. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska).(See? Now I know this is the maximum amount the PAC can give to a candidate, I just don't know how much they can give to an individual.)

Update: Palin has collected at least $200,000 more for Sarah PAC since the reporting period closed at the end of last month, according to a source familiar with the numbers. Palin's resignation -- announced on July 3 -- triggered a flood of donations to the PAC, the source added.

Okay so THIS is what we know.

In about a six month period of time SarahPAC was only able to raise $733,000.

Yet $200,000 more has come in since the end of the reporting period.

Now what event happened between the end of the reporting period and the end of June? Well she had a very public fight with David Letterman where she was able to play the victim to a national audience, which seems to have loosened her supporters purse strings to the tune of around $200,000.

Hmmm I think I am beginning to see the kernel of an idea forming in Sarah's head.

Because then she simply quits her post as Governor, once again blaming the media, the Democrats, and...well....me I guess , and again the donations come flooding in. So as long as Sarah Palin can play the victim to the widest audience imaginable she stands to make a shitload of money.

Gee maybe Levi was right.

Prediction: Palin's fundraising days are kaput. She can fight everyone she wants to. Her crowd is about tapped out.

Mitt raised twice what Palin did, and he didn't have to embarrass himself or his family to do it. Kay Bailey Hutchinson raised a ton more $$ than that for her run for Governor of Texas, and she didn't have to embarrass anyone, quit a job, or whine in the media. The GOP knows Palin doesn't really raise $$ anymore.

Or maybe C4Peers turned EVERYONE off of Palin with their horrible antics, so fewer people donated to Palin. Whatever. The myth of Palin the fundraiser has been proved false now.

OF COURSE "a source" added an update when they realized it was a pathetic amount. How like her crackerjack crew...

  2. Let's compare: Kay Hutchison (running agaisnst moron Rick Perry) raised 6.7 million in the first 6 months. Wow! It's listed on the CNN political ticker.
    Wonder how much Perry raised.
And Mitt Romney brought in about 1.4 million or twice what $carah did.

And do you hear these two begging and blabbing nonstop to the MSM. NO
Not that I would vote for either of these 2 but interesting.

    Correction:
    Disbursements from Sarahpac-
    Eric Steenbergen-$4683
    Meg Steenbergen-$14449
    Izzylene-$40450
Note that Meg Stapleton's married name is Meg Steenbergen and Izzylene is Meg's firm - see the FORTY THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED AND FIFTY bucks to Meg, also, too? and the 15 grand to Meg and hubby under Meg's married name?

  4. When you look at it in comparison, I guess ol' $arah just can't create the "sparklies" she thought she could. Poor dear. And she had to spend 1/3 of what came in just to keep the thing going.

Hey you $arahPAC suckers! Only 63 cents of your donated dollar is available for $arah's higher calling!

  5. Not to self promote, but I was smacking on Google like an overloaded two-bit mule earlier and dug up more documents... so to penelope, some of the money you mention appears to have come directly from the McCain campaign to pay IzzyLene who probably then paid GOTV with it, NOT from SarahPAC... the links are on my post from earlier this afternoon:

And thanks to Gryphen for adding me to the blog roll. =)

  6. If I am not mistaken (and someone please correct me???) - is this sum of dollars collected based upon sarahpac having people send in emails STATING how much they had given from Jan-Jun? Not actual tracked dollars?

Stapletongue should have her mouth stapled. She really is a disgusting piece of work. If she's a sample of the people SP considers "worthy", she's got lousy judgment on top of everything else.

PLUS the Stapletongue family appears to be wringing $arah dry - all the funds they can milk.

  8. To put SarahPAC's numbers into perspective-
Mitt Romney's PAC raised $870,000 in just the first 3 months of 2009 alone (I haven't found his 1st half year total released yet)

    http://voices.washingtonpost.com/thefix/eye-on-2012/fundraising-heros-and-zeros.html

It took SarahPAC 3 MORE months to raise $137,000 LESS for the former Republican VP candidate. If they can be believed and $arah's Quitting/Whine-a-thon resulted in an increase in donations, get ready for more victim-playing as fundraising.

Penelope.....One has to wonder if that is done to prevent higher taxes for Meg but if her husband did not really work there, it is illegal.

You know these people don't like them taxes! Who needs great roads schools and sex-abuse programs. Can't those people stand on there own whereas also too yes.

Oh and therefore too I betcha those C 4 Peepers are celebrating away and putting out the spin. But Sarah blah blah blah and poor Sara blablabla and oh this is exactly what we expected cuz ya know Sarahs fans are real Americans and could only afford fifty bucks here or there. We did real great God bless em and God bless Sarah and the litlles too yes um!

A question or two regarding Sarah's PAC and Legal Defense Fund. What happens to them when she is no longer governor? The PAC probably stays in place, because, perish-the-thought, she might want to try running for some political office again. (And, money is just pouring in, right?)

But the Legal Defense Fund was set up to defend the Integrity of The Governor of the State of Alaska. (Read the Mission Statement at C4P). So, when Sarah is no longer governor, does that fund stay in place for the next governor? Or is Sarah going to drain all of the money before she goes? And, there is still that ethics violation complaint which has not been resolved yet. It claims that money in the fund is actually a gift because it relieves Sarah of the financial burden of paying for her own personal lawyer. And, money in the fund is supposed to be "frozen" pending the outcome of that complaint.

I personally consider her an overpriced Hooker who will do anything for money.

  13. If she doesn't run for office but just travels the country speaking and campaigning for others...it's all cream. The PAC can pay for all of the transportation, hotels, meals, hair and makeup and of course....a new wardrobe. With shoes!. And if she drags any of the family along...the PAC will pay for all of them too.

What a racket. She'll never have to pay a penny for clothes, shoes or accessories for herself or the kids every again. Just make a few campaign speeches for whoever will have her and it's all on the PAC.

Now, if she can only manage to become the ordained minister of her own church...she'll be completely tax free!

John Coale stated that SarahPAC pulled in $400,000 the first month. It looks like it really went downhill from there... just like sweet Sarah.

The McCain campaign payouts are separate from the SarahPAC payouts.
IzzyLene was paid $7500.00 on 10/8/08 and $11,250.00 on 11/13/08. SarahPAC did not exist.
Also paid by McCain campaign $10,000.00 to Taylor Griffin on 10/8/08. Taylor is the republican operative sent to Alaska to take over the Troopergate investigation.
Penny Owen of Palmer, (google lists as Wasilla) was paid $12,350 on 12/11/08. Does anyone know who Penny Owen is?
ALL of these payments by the McCain campaign have noted as their purpose GOTV. Remember, GOTV is what the campaign tried to use to hide the payments for $arah's hairstylist, make-up artist and voice coach.

Meg appears to be very well paid by the PAC. I haven't been following all of her announcements that closely, but what happens if Meg makes public statements regarding $arah in her role of governor? (official duties) Is Meg supposed to only be making announcements about $arah's political activities? NY Times make note of the fact that $arah uses her PAC for both official and political expenses, and has trouble distinguishing between the two.

  17. sorry for posting NY article comment here
but the thinning hair and needing "emergency help"
    a close friend said this?
    That strikes me odd..
That is uh kindof embarrassing to say
Considering it is her crown and glory on the stage

With friends like that revealing these secrets.. eh
It's like a close friend spilling the beans about someone taking viagra or getting a face lift You just don't tell those secrets

You can say she was thin and frail.. ok stress
but don't be spilling beauty issues

Now on stage the world will be questioning if shes wearing a wig .. so much for her youthful bonnet of hair she was so admired for

I've made this plea before, elsewhere, but I will make it here again.

--This woman's life is, and has been, one continual "Peter Principle" train-wreck.
--There has got to be incriminating evidence out there, substantial enough, to bring her down.
--Someone in Alaska holds the key to this information.
--"Trooper-gate", Trig-gate", "Infidelity-gate". There's something out there and it needs to be brought to light.

Please! Whoever you are, up there in Alaska, please come forward and save us from this woman.
If World Federation Wrestling* (Entertainment), Reality shows, and "Low Information Voters" were not enough to bring us to our knees, this woman could be the last straw. Please buy us some time and come forth with that which you know, and spare us form the "Palin Plague.

Sounds like they want to push the idea that the liberal media, ethics violation complainants and pj bloggers have done this to her...Leave that poor woman alone. Look what you're doing to her. Now her hair is falling out! Haven't you done enough already? Won't work.

A person thin and frail certainly wouldn't be out jogging. And a while back she was wearing hair extensions longer than the length of her hair. Palin did not look frail while speaking to the troops overseas. Actually, I thought she gained some weight when I saw her wearing that t-shirt.

Barracuda is getting ready for the road...dieting to be thin as Cindy?! Remember the picture that shows Palin all puckered up; Cindy stands to her side with a slight smile. Great shot!

Gryphen, thanks for the info about the monies. I think the victim card has been playing for a long time. A distraction to take the light of Palin's total lack of leadership skills. What action has Palin put in place to help the rural communities through another harsh winter? All I heard was lies.
