A Palin-bot makes a pilgrimage to Wasilla, the Jerusalem of the north.

On the Fourth of July, a thousand people gathered on the banks of Lake Wasilla for a Tea Party, one of those anti-tax, pro-liberty bits of street theater. ... Adrienne Ross, the media director and New York organizer for the 2012 Draft Sarah Committee, had been in Wasilla for only two days. But she said she had already "witnessed history," had a salmon bake -- using Palin's recipe -- ... and, just that morning, met Palin's parents and joked around with Piper. It was like going to Sarah Palin fantasy camp, and, regardless of Palin's next move, Ross said, "I am exactly where God wants me to be."

This is the Sarah Palin base that will NEVER be educated enough to abandon Queen Ester.

They worship at her feet, and believe every forkful of word salad that falls from her lipstick saturated mouth. They seem unable to recognize the lack of intelligence and the narcissism that the rest of us find so repulsive.

They make excuses for her limitations (if they recognize them at all) and blame her critics for manufacturing falsehoods when they point out her lies or mistakes. To them she is flawless.

Fortunately they are few in number, and though they are intensely vocal (as demonstrated by the small raucous group that protested outside of David Letterman's studio), they seem to be relatively harmless.

They are also of the "faith not logic" group of people who are always so easily seduced by televangelists and the two bit hustlers that find them such an easy mark. These people will always be taken advantage of by SOMEBODY and right now their victimizer is our (soon to be ex-)Governor. Pity is the most that I can offer them.

Having been to Wasilla myself, I just can't see it as a pilgrimage destination. That is hilarious. Wasilla = Lourdes to these people? LMAO.

Also, Sarah is still alive & kicking. So how can it be a point of pilgrimage?
I would call these crazy zealots "stalkers."

  3. It utterly disgusts me when SP compares herself with Queen Esther. Apart from little girls who dress up as the queen for Purim, it's considered utter hubris for adults to make that comparison. I've probably said that here before, so please forgive me. But SP only sees Jews as people to be co-opted before consignment to the fiery pit...

  5. I think she's washed up, too, but I think it's going to be some time before she leaves the national stage, Gryphen.

There are people who want Palin to stick around. I'm convinced of it. And it's not just her base. The people who want her in the fore are people in the media who KNOW she is the best thing that has happened to the Democratic party in many, many years. Just look what she draws out in the Republican party. Crazy religious nuts that each day define the GOP even more.

Look, if Palin runs against Obama in 2012 she will not win, and despite what looks like a few loony supporters she *could* capture the nomination because at the moment the Republicans don't have anyone else that more than 20 people can get behind.

If she does make it to 2012 I believe we'll get an October surprise in the form of the truth about Babygate. And it will come from a media that knew about it all along all along. It's why the media and the Dems won't discuss it now. It's why they've beaten it away each time it's been raised. They're waiting until *they* can use it to take her out, and the right wing along with her.

I think reasonable Republicans know this, which is why they're starting to speak out against her now. The Republicans, I think, want her gone now. The question is, can they make it happen as long as the media is running interference.

At the moment the media is going to just put out enough stuff to make her and her followers look crazy, nothing more.

  6. Love your wit and take on all things Queen Ester as she grows less palatable each day. OMG, what will become of her most vulnerable subjects?
Abused children and adults have been short changed with social programs and through the legal system. Now Alaska has a moratorium on Medicaid. What will she tweet today? More platitudes. Jim Jones was only responsible for 909 deaths, who can count Queen Ester of Wasilla's victims?

  7. I would consider Sarah Palin to be history!

Of course, that doesn't mean I don't still want her so widely discredited that she doesn't dare show her face in public.

Gryphen, you are so correct. These people are just like the ones who followed Jim Jones and David Koresh (sp?). They have put a religious meaning to his woman, and no amount of evidence will change their minds. If it weren't Sarah Palin, it would be someone else duping them because they want to be duped in the name of religion. They have no ability to think for themselves so they have to have some "icon" to follow. She could murder babies on the steps of the capitol, and they would believe she had a reason from god. Pathetic and sick, but I know people like that.

What IS Palins's recipe for a salmon bake? Since Adrienne mentioned it.

I am betting SP doesn't do a lot of cooking or recipe development. (Not that I hold that against her -- there is so much else.) Reminds me of Jackie Kennedy telling one of Jack's sisters, at a party, how good Ethel's fried chicken was, and asking if she could get the recipe. The sister said it was actually Ethel's cook's recipe, but she thought Jackie might be able to borrow the recipe, if she asked Ethel. Jackie said, "Oh, actually, I'd rather borrow her cook."

  10. I just received an interesting letter from move it on.org and I wanted to cut and paste it here, but I am unable too. I don't know why I have consistent problems with your blog Gryphen. Palingates has blogger and I have a blogger blog. I have never been able to cut and paste here and also the hyperlinks are not clickable which is a problem. Anyhow I can't post the letter now. Maybe Gryphen has it and can post it or I would send it to you. They are talking about why they think Sarah quit and trying to raise money.

I thought everyone might find it interesting.

Mrs TarquinBiscuitbarrel, I AGREE WITH YOU. Does she honestly compare herself? I am Jewish too and I find that repulsive. I do not believe Sarah or people in her category really care about the Jewish people at all. They still think we are going to hell because we don't take Christ as our savior. If you read more about the religious sect (cult) she is involved with they want to "take over those Jewish banks" and also they want to convert us.

Everyone see Sarah's tweets yesterday? I am sorry to talk this way, but she comes across as a juvenile, bitchy 5th grader. She is so unprofessional. We have to keep up the good work we are doing by exposing her as the liar she is.
Gryphens description of Palinbots is very harsh but it is very true. And at the end of the day, as much as I feel anger at their blindness and stupidity, I also feel very sorry for them that they do not see how they are being used and milked for money. I personally think Sarah has no intention of running for president but if she acts like she is, she can bring in a lot of dough.......She may go through the primary even to collect as much as possible. She is a con artist and a pathological liar and not a very nice person.

These poor, pathetic people; but as you pointed out there is not really much you can do about it. If it's not Buttercup, it would be someone else. It is all the most disgusting because it is taking advantage of people who are ignorant and just want to believe in something, anything. It reminds me of all those little old ladies that barely had enough to eat but sent money anyway to Jimmy Swaggert.

“Pilgrimage” to the Sacred Site of Sister Sarah in Wasilla. no less. She’s alive! Praise God and pass the ammunition! Good lord, these “pilgrims” are certainly devoted to their Icon of the Lies, Seeker of Financial gain regardless of how, when, what, or who it might hurt. It just means “more money, more money for me, me and me again and again!”,

Palin is a pretty good grifter, but her brain takes too many unauthorized vacations and leaves her just plain stupid. Stupid, senseless. and dangerous. Apparently there are many like-minded individuals, crowds and congregations fawning around the PAIN. She and her followers are living proof and an example of Forrest Gump’s insightful_ “Stupid is as stupid does.”

  15. @lisabeth: I got the same thing. I'm using Google Chrome and am able to cut/paste..Here's the text from moveon:

"Well, now we know why Sarah Palin is quitting as governor of Alaska.

In a Washington Post column, she just announced her new focus: killing our chance to build a clean energy economy, starting with the energy bill currently in Congress.

Her op-ed is a marvel of misinformation and outright lies. Just like conservatives in Congress, Palin is trotting out the "energy taxes" scare tactic, and arguing instead for more drilling and more dirty coal. This bill already has too many giveaways to Big Coal and Big Oil, but it's still not enough for Palin.

As ridiculous as Sarah Palin's lies are, they're getting attention, and they're a real threat to clean energy. If we can raise $125,000 today, we'll run a rapid response ad to counter these lies and stop Palin's attack....

...This is the same Sarah Palin who doesn't believe climate change is caused by humans. The same Sarah Palin who is obsessed with drilling for oil in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. And the same Sarah Palin who's looking for controversial issues to launch a 2012 presidential bid.

Now she's positioning herself as the face of the conservative attack against clean energy, against the Clean Air Act—even against the creation of millions of new jobs in solar and wind.

But wind and solar create more than twice as many jobs as coal and oil. Clean energy is the only way to make America's economy competitive in the 21st century.

The truth is we need a stronger energy bill in the Senate to combat our economic and climate crisis, but Sarah Palin's lies could sink our hopes for a clean energy economy..."

  17. @Morgan....I am with you on this one. I have been frustrated and puzzled for so long regarding the MSM, and thier lack of serious reporting of this woman. The fact that she got away with, ( and does to this day) not appearing on any real hard news show, ie. Meet the Press, leaves me with the opinion that they know she is not fit. Yet..they continue on with the fluff reporting...just enough to keep her in the picture.

As much as she is a disgrace to the GOP she is gift to the Democrats....that is the truth. I dont yet understand why the media would fall into this type of thing, because we all know they certainly aren't all of the "progressive" persuasion.

Its simple..it makes news. It keeps their readers/watchers interested. I also think its dishonest and unkind to the American public. It really has no bearing on me...I am Canadian.

The GOP surely wants her to disappear...but what are they to do? The media has made it so that there is an insatiable hunger for the stupidity that is Sarah. Unfortunately, that says a great deal about our society today. Very sad indeed, that someone of such low calibre can be aided and abetted this way. Humiliating to all involved really.

Just read that on June 26, the feds stopped Alaska from signing anyone up for Medicaid (or was it Medicare?) because of gross mismanagement of the program (mention of 200 deaths while waiting for assessment?). Do you know about this? Has the Sarah queen commented on it?

  19. Sarah’s rabid supporters really believe that she was chosen by God to lead them when the Rapture comes. And with Sarah leaving for a higher calling, she might actually believe it herself.
But, why would God pick someone unlike HIS qualities?
She incites hate, she lies, and she is haughty.
She is in it for the money and the adoration that she receives from these poor delusional people.

  23. Grypen's statement that Palin supporters "will never be educated enough to abandon Queen Ester" is chilling.

I'd always hoped that when Palin was unquestionably caught in a big lie or illegality, her supporters would be so shocked they would learn they need to question those they pick for leadership.

I keep telling everyone that even if Buttercup herself admitted to anything her followers would still not think she did anything wrong. It has something to do with being an Evangelical. All the people I know (including family) just aren't able to wrap their heads around the wrongdoing of any other Evangelical. In their world just saying you are against abortion, gays, etc. then you are just good to go. They don't even have to mention God. It is very sad.

  26. A new very interesting detail regarding “babygate” has emerged.

Ivy Frye, the very close confidante and “right-hand” of Sarah Palin twittered today:

“@C4P ethics filer mcleod "jumped" gov palin @ gop convent last yr-- a wk b4 trig was born! i distracted mcleod so gov could get to her suv.”

    http://twitter.com/ivyfrye

In case the message gets deleted:

    http://www.flickr.com/photos/32527116@N06/3724108658/sizes/o/

Now why would Ivy Frye need to distract Andree Mcleod? Was the Governor trying to keep a distance between herself and Andree for any particular reason? Was Palin having one of her "low fluid days" perhaps?

There is another interesting detail to report: I was in contact with Andree McLeod today and asked her whether she can remember this incident. She answered and explained that this encounter with Ivy Frye happened at the GOP convention which started on Thursday, 13th March 2008 at the Captain Cook hotel in Anchorage.

    About this convention:

    http://progressivealaska.blogspot.com/2008/03/upcoming-alaska-gop-convention.html

She also stresses that Ivy Frye's claim that Andree McLeod "jumped" Sarah Palin (whatever this exactly means), is nonsense (..."this is a complete falsehood intended to paint me as a dangerous person and it’s not right at all", says Andree).

So...how can Ivy Frye say that Trig was born "a week later" ??? I have the impression that not even the closest supporters of Sarah Palin can get their story straight. Interesting...!

  31. Casey, I would not be one bit surprised if there are some high-powered people on the left as willing to pay for Levi's silence regarding Trig as there are publishers willing to pay for the truth.

If the Dems are smart - and they are - then they will use the truth about Sarah when it is the most effective.

Obama is going to have an exceedingly rough four years. Tough economic times are only going to get tougher. By 2012 folks are going to be extremely frustrated, and they often take those frustrations out on the sitting president.

Having Sarah as a viable candidate is the Dems' insurance policy. Let her stir up her base enough to snag the nomination and then hit her with the October surprise of Babygate. She'll go down like a rock and Obama will sail to a second term.

No, the media is not all progressive but MSNBC is, and so is CNN. I spent years working a journalist and will tell you it is hard NOT to form an opinion about the people you cover. In the last few years the networks haven't tried to hide their bias. FOX is openly conservative and MSNBC/CNN is openly progressive.

I think at some point FOX will see the writing on the wall and turn on Sarah. It's going to get interesting, but I think when Levi's book comes out it's going to disappoint those of us who believe it will include information about Trig. Someone will have paid Levi to keep that part of the story to himself.

When it does come out it will either be as an October surprise by the Democrats OR - if they get desperate enough - by Republicans who want to knock Palin out before she gets the nomination and drags the party down with her.

To think that someone who is seeming educated, thinks that she can convince people of Sarah's exceptional intelligence, skills and honour is really laughable. Sarah Palin has made herself into an international joke. My God..there was even a write up by Margaret Wendt in the Toronto Star yesterday.

She talked about how curious it is, that someone like Palin is held in such high esteem, by the very same people who will try to vilify and ridicule Judge Sotomayor. I can't link it, but if you look up the Toronto Sun you will find the article. Margaret is a transplant from the states...so she really does have a vested interest.

Too bad she didn't go camping with Sarah's pal, Yukon Don Tanner during her visit. He could have shown her a true Alaskan good time! http://tinyurl.com/mcvle5 He had an epic showdown with a family of 4 bears from inside his Talkeetna cabin. The bears lost; all were shot dead.

Have you guys heard the story of Yukon Don Tanner? The ex-husband of Buttercup's "legal" slush-fund treasurer, Kristan Cole?

Yukon Don is a colorful local character here in Wasilla - a google search will reveal what this guy is about. For one, he is good buddies with WAR. I have read Phil Munger's quotes that Don Tanner lived in South Africa during the 1980s to support the apartheid government. http://tinyurl.co/m8gsla I have also heard that Sarah's best friend Kristan was by his side.

Anyway, in true Palin Pal fashion, the story of the bear shooting sounds very contrived to me. I hope this is investigated.

It's easy to make a "mistake" while speaking, however, it's certainly a difference to mix up "one week" and "one month" in a twitter message. I don't want to overinterpret these remarks, but it's apparent that the "confusions" about Sarah Palin's birth story will continue.

From what I hear about the Wasilla family the old crowd is back together. They have their differences but loyalty is important. The book will be a big disappointment, so disappointing it won't make it to print.

I hope they all get nailed for being a part of the lies and hoax. They don't have to be a direct part of killing off the sick of the state, they have blood on their hands for not coming forward when they could have made a difference. 40. When I read Ivy Frye's twitter message, I had to think immediately about this "it's a boy" conversation that Sarah had with Piper at the beginning of April 2008, after having spoken to Bristol on the phone. This conversation was included in the footage that Fox bought from the Israeli filmmaker Elan Frank (he filmed Sarah for several days around the 8th April 2008).

I have this video in my files and will upload it again, because I think it disappeared in the meantime from youtube, although I might be wrong.

It's a good idea to "revisit" this clip again.

I personally think that Ivy Frye knows very well what's going on regarding Trig - she seems to be extremely close with Sarah and her family.

There is also another bit of information which I would like to bring to your attention: On April 15, 2008 Ivy Frye asked the IT-Director of the administration how to make her yahoo account the default account on her blackberry:
