In an August 19 letter to SarahPAC, the FEC asked for more information on several irregularities in the PAC's mid-year report -- mostly consisting of failures to itemize on expenditures of certain sizes. In addition, it appears that SarahPAC neglected to properly file as a multi-candidate PAC, and thus made potentially illegal donations to Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) and Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), with the checks weighing in beyond the limit for a non-multicandidate PAC.
FEC spokesperson Julia Queen could not comment as to the severity or lack thereof, but could only explain the process of how the FEC's report look over all the filings. "If there is an appearance of a possible violation of the Act, the committee has 30 days to respond," said Queen. "And if any committee fails to respond adequately or fails to respond at all, the commission may take additional action, but that would be part of the enforcement process and I'm not allowed to discuss it."
Messages left at SarahPAC were not returned.
The FEC also pointed out that this does not necessarily mean that there is corruption in SarahPAC, it may just mean that they are incompetent. If I were to venture a guess I would say it is probably a little of both.
I don't know if any of you have noticed that Palin essentially seems to have the opposite of the "Midas touch", in that everything she touches turns to shit.
Our state suffered huge setbacks while she was our chief executive, she single handedly derailed the McCain campaign, she has made the GOP look like a boatload of imbeciles, and now her bad juju has infected her very own PAC. Damn!

You have to follow the law when you play in the federal/big leagues. If you don't know the law, you hire an attorney or someone who knows FEC reporting requirements. Of course, scarah the narcissist thinks the law doesn't apply to her, so sloppy reporting is consistent with her NPD.

No she sent McCain and Murkowski checks from her PAC donations. Probably bribes . The funny thing is someone marking the checks as campaign 2009 donations. Huh? There are no elections for 2009. I am sure they are just amateur mistakes.

You know Sarah never does anything on time, especially when she is required to do so. Narcissists just can’t accept someone telling them what to do. Yeah, I would like to see her thumb her nose at the FEC! Be sure to put the due date of 9-24-09 on your calendars to see if she responds. Sarah always seems to surround herself with adoring fools and incompetents.

anonymous 6:09, well, for starters, over 250 people died waiting for care under her medicare program. that may be nothing to you, but I'm sure their families would beg to differ. The feds had to shut the program down due to the incompetence with which it was ran. Ringing any familiar bells for the bitter quitter's style?

What may go way beyond the bounds of incompetence is the set up and disbursements (and knowledge aforehand) of the Alaska Fund Trust. . .of which we have yet to receive a financial disclosure report WAY OVERDUE!!!
I keep posting about this, but neither Gryph nor any other blog appears concerned about this. I'm tellin' ya, the loosey goosey underpinnings of the Alaska Fund Trust will blow any interest in the SarahPAC kerfluffle away. . .

SarahPAC is really the name for Sarah's new venture, Sarah's Products And Cosmetics. The fools are donating to what they think is a Political Action Committee, but it is really a slush fund for her cosmetic surgery and the venture capital for her new cosmetics line. She is going to structure it like another famous line but call it Moosie Kay. Each of the PAC contributors will get their own moose-skin cosmetics kits to start this sales organizations. If you sell enough Moosie Kay, you could get a moose-colored Cadillac with a picture of Sarah in the back window.
