When the comments became personal, then personal attacks, as a sign of a true on-line gentleman, you erased the references.
Now the shoe is on the other foot, and you seem to have ruffled more than a few feathers in the other camp. They are not gentlemen/gentlewomen. Posting your personal information and subjecting you to verbal attacks borders on the same kind of madness that Sarah Palin could provoke in her campaign crowds. Even the Secret Service saw that there were more threats made against Obama, perhaps due to her shrill venomous speeches.
I hope that places where you work and places that you frequent have good security. It only takes one nut, and they seem to be shaking every nut loose from the tree with their comments. I think that you should consult local and/or Federal authorities to see if these threats pose a real danger. They can trace all of the emails and on-line comments.
Just in case any of us forgets, once upon a time there was a blogger who was a fan of the PD website. She was a photo expert, and she could enhance contrast in pictures that clearly showed that a few weeks before Sarah was reported to have given birth, she had a model slim figure. That blogger did receive threats, and suddenly left the internet. I am sorry that those threat had such a terrifying effect on her because her photo work was rock solid good evidence that showed an incredibly thin, flat tummy Sarah weeks before delivering a 6 lb. baby.
As for legal threats, I think that this one had the same effect as the one leveled at Shannyn's rumor; it is a scare tactic because his boss told him put a stop to it. We all notice that there are no threatened lawsuits against people who make guesses about Trig's parentage. There are no threatened lawsuits against National Enquirer for affair-rumors. Any blogger that receives or spots a threat as serious as to cause physical harm or death to another has a moral calling to make a report. If the person who threatened "MK" wasn't caught in a crime the authorities still need them in a data base for future reference. If "MK" didn't make a report, someone else could. She would be contacted and the authorities would have the IP and all information.
To let these serious matters slide is remiss and irresponsible. Report the culprits. All of them. It may be the information that leads to another case and is needed to help nab a criminal stalker. It is not about my "husband is big, I don't want to make a fuss, it will upset the kids." You may contribute to someone else being terrorized or killed. Why do women report rapes? Not because they want to, they want justice, protection and to prevent future harm to others.

ReplyDelete(1) If they really want to serve you any kind of papers- they should do it in a true legal form- mail it etc . ( I don't know if emailing or twitting it counts).
(2) The fact that they mention your work place- is NONE of their business- since you never ever state anything about your work, they have no right. It is HARRASSMENT- and the commenter above also point out if they did it to cause harm to you or put innocent children or even your job at risk guess what- THAT IS MALICE....
(3) as you are a STATE employee- she is not allowed to harrass or show malice to another state employee, even as an EX employee she is not allowed. There are State Laws that protect a State Employee and OSHA laws that protect you as a State Employee...
(4) Get yourself a GOOD ACLU /Constitutional Attorney- cause guess what YOUR FREEDOM OF SPEECH IS PROTECTED...PERIOD.She as Governor or EX Governor is NOT allowed to SUE or legally attack or harrass Citizens .....
( BY the way- as a private citizen- does she NOW think she has MORE power ???)

I hope Sarah is happy with the result of her demanding to be a pretty poltician wearing too much lipstick, short skirts and black plastic boots. Yes, you SHOULD be able to do that and still be taken seriously as a good politician, but your problem is that you never figured out the good politician part. ReplyDeleteBloggers must stick together. The federal agencies won't say what they are investigating etc.
Any blogger that receives or spots a threat as serious as to cause physical harm or death to another has a moral calling to make a report. If the person who threatened "MK" wasn't caught in a crime the authorities still need them in a data base for future reference. If "MK" didn't make a report, someone else could. She would be contacted and the authorities would have the IP and all information.
To let these serious matters slide is remiss and irresponsible. Report the culprits. All of them. It may be the information that leads to another case and is needed to help nab a criminal stalker. It is not about my "husband is big, I don't want to make a fuss, it will upset the kids." You may contribute to someone else being terrorized or killed. Why do women report rapes? Not because they want to, they want justice, protection and to prevent future harm to others.
If sites like Texas4Palin are not already on a list and being monitored we are all in serious trouble. These are criminals who have now gone on to try and cover up the fact of their crimes. The people who run these sites may not be allowing it to continue. Are they reporting the criminal posts on their sites or are they part of a cover up? They are of interest because they attract and have so many links to criminal types. Just because it happens online doesn't make it less criminal, possibly more criminal.
If a thug was in your face making these remarks you would just ignore that? Would you make a report? The same goes for online.
In "MK" case it went so far as to target a location where they knew her to be. Sarah Palin has gone so far as to point out a location. Remember whoever is working on the Wasilla church fire has not been able to make any progress. Wasilla has an arsonist that they can't find and prosecute. It is not always guns that are used. We have had bomb threats in my neighborhood. Stupid kids that want attention love pipe bombs and to latch on to things that are attention grabbers. Once a person like Palin gets her kooks riled it doesn't mean they will make a clean strike against her target. What usually happens is that some innocent person gets in the way of a worked up dangerous lunatic. Bullies like Palin must also be stopped.
Don't be part of the problem. Make reports and if you can grab the screen shots, that is needed as well. Let your tax dollars work for you and don't help the bullies to continue without repercussions. Support organizations like ACLU and EFF.

ReplyDeleteI heard a really big rumor from a friend in Wasilla. Now its just a rumour remember that. Can I be sued for repeating what I heard? I heard that both of the Palins have been having affairs (Todd and Sarah) and one of them wanted to be "swingers" and the other didn't, but they tried it anyhow due to pressure and well jealousy came along. You know how that can happen. There is a lot more swinging out there then you could imagine and in this case it was mulitple times with men and men and woman and woman all which ways you might say. Wasilla has its own "swingers club" by the way and you would be shocked who is a member. Ever heard of "POLYAMORY" Its more commen than you would think too. Now I won't say who started this because naming names is wrong, but Christians participate in alternative lifestyles too despite their family value talk.

She does not appear to be very bright as evidenced by her failed interviews with Couric and Gibson, yet rather than read and educate herself, she plays victim. What type of role model does that? I know full well why I don't care for Palin and can articulate it very well. I don't live in the REAL America and am not a Real American by Palin's standards....Tell me was Jesus so devisive? Yes, somehow the other lies (the other Palin-gates) all pale in comparison with the pregnancy hoax for me, which is important only in that it IS a hoax -- a big fat lying hoax. Not illegal, probably, like some other things, but pretty heinous and really just disgusting.

Second, if you can believe your fellow right wingnut Robert Stacy McCain, Palin's statement "Divorce Todd? Have you seen Todd? I may be just a renegade hockey mom, but I'm not blind!" is a true statement. McCain says it's true on his blog.
Thirdly, if that quote from Sarah Palin wasn't just a catchy sound bite, but was truly an indication of her reasons for not separating/divorcing from Todd Palin -- then, yes, indeed, it was shallow and immature of Palin herself.
It's not like the statement had to fit a 140 character Tweet. She had LOTS of time and space to extoll Todd Palin's more valuable virtues, but she chose just his beefcake quotient.
Her statement, to me, seemed to border on pimping her husband as a piece of "red meat" for her feminine fans. That's disgusting, and if you as a representative Palinbot feel that's "hate", so be it. I think it's well deserved.
Oh, one other thing: Palin hasn't been a hockey mom for nearly 3 years. I wonder why she's still clinging to THAT imagery?
Someone had twittered last night. He was on a plane with the Palin's and two children from Portland to South Dakota. I then read on a different blog that they were going to the motorcyle rally in Sturgis. Good photos for her book, eh?
