Did you see it? Did you see the President's speech this morning? You know what that means don't you? Yep you're a socialist!

Visit msnbc.com for Breaking News, World News, and News about the Economy

Wait where is all the socialist hypnotism? Why aren't the children walking around in Mao jackets and clutching little red books?

I loved the speech President Obama. I hope you deliver many, many more to our children and to their parents. Don't mind the histrionics coming from the under educated FOX News watchers, they are members of the defeated party and panicking is all they are capable of doing at this point. Just ignore them, and eventually they will become inconsequential.

You know, like Sarah Palin.

I think that we should all follow Sarah Palin's example in regard to education. Keep your kids out of school for the next two months, just like little Piper did last year. She didn't start school until the election was over last November, and she has finally caught up with her homework.

So what if it's hard to catch up. The Religious Right Wing wants dumb followers, not smart ones. Which is better- lots of friends or that troublesome thinking thing?

Be sure to get yourself into trouble in high school. Go to wild parties, drink, take drugs, get pregnant or get someone pregnant, mess around with your wild buddies, get shipped out of state, barely graduate high school, if even that. GED is good, but you don't need a high school education to be a model, spokesperson, actor, author or celebrity. A ghost writer can do the hard stuff for you.

Be sure to attend a different college each year for at least five or six years. That way, you will always make new friends, you can create a new record each time you go to a new place, and think of all the new places that you will see.

Continue to follow Sarah Palin's example after formal education is finished. Do not keep any books in your house (except the Bible). They are all commie-pinko-left wing-liberal-lies anyway. Oh, exception to that. You can keep the biographies of Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush and Sarah Palin around, but only them. No one else. Do not read newspapers. Too many people want to ask you gotcha questions, and it is best to avoid answering anything as invasive as "What do you read to inform your world opinion of things?"

And, this is the most important rule, following Sarah Palin's guide to education. Under no circumstances are there to be any discussions of evolution, sex education and information or political discussion. Please, do not do anything that might teach you to think for yourself. There are other people in this world who are smarter than you, and they have more money and/or power. Let them guide your path (along with the divine guidance that you receive), and you need never study, read or think again.

My children are now referring to me as "Fearless Leader" instead of Mom. Thanks alot, Obama.

    Gryphen,

Imagine my horror when I scrolled down and saw a "Donate to Sarah PAC" Ad on your site! It says "Goggle Ad" at the bottom. Do you have no control on what ads pop up on your site??

Thought this was funny. Here is what a poster said on CNN.com about bidding $25k for a dinner with Sarah and Todd.

"Had I the funds marked specifically for donation to this charity, I might bid just so I could have the opportunity to stand those hillbillies up."

I LOVED President Obama's speech. I can't wait to find out what my 10 year old nephew thought about it. What an inspiration to young people, heck, all people our President is. As someone commented the other day, yes Republicans, keep your children out of school today. Keep them ignorant, uneducated and unable to think for themselves, just have them do as you do: follow like sheep.

  9. I worked hard to get Obama elected. I am still a huge fan even in spite of all the criticism of his "lack of leadership" on health care and climate change.

I think he has a longer term strategy in mind and I'm willing to hang in there and support him.

But here's a couple of things.

    1. rescuing the economy. The economic model of growth growth growth is just ludicrous. We only have one planet! So I have to wonder how much relevance there is to any "recovery" plan that doesn't fundamentally challenge the notion that humans can endlessly exploit the natural environment without despoiling it to the point we have an uninhabitable climate. and

    2. this strikes me as truly bizarre. Obama goes on and on, about education, and careers like doctor, lawyer, and so forth.

Okay, who is supposed to pick up the garbage and empty the bedpans and cut the grass?

Just askin'! Seems strange, you can't have a society where everyone is at the top of the food chain or as put on a Prairie Home Companion, all the children are above average...

    Gryph,

I got to disagree with you dude about just ignoring these racists. I loved that Shannyn called them out on the Keith interview saying it's all about Obama being black.

Former Mayor of Dallas and current US Trade Representative, Ron Kirk said, "There are few moments in my life where I'm embarrassed to say I'm from Texas, this was one of them." Kirk was referencing the schools that did not show the speech. Get this though, a school not showing the Obama speech is busing students for a field trip to a Bush speech later this year.

I've been writing constantly to NPR to provide some critical thinking to this "controversy." NPR hasn't mentioned the obvious racism causing the controversy. What the fvck is wrong with them fvckin cowards.

I'll be damn'd if I'm going to allow racism to control the agenda without it being exposed as the cause, and plunging this country backwards.

  11. Damn. My teenage Son missed his bus today and I had to drive him to school. (Wednesday)

I asked him if he got to watch the resident's speech. He said too many people were bitching about it so no, he didn't.

I would have kept him home on principle. And to let him watch the speech.
