Jon Stewart and the Daily Show win Emmy!

Comedy Central's "The Daily Show" was named the best comedy or variety show in the annual Emmy Awards. Blessed with an abundance of material during a presidential election, the show beat out David Letterman's "Late Show," "Saturday Night Live," "Real Time With Bill Maher" and "The Colbert (col-BEAR') Report (rap-PORE')"

Stewart's writing staff also won for best writing in a comedy or variety series, making it a clean sweep.

As you all know I absolutely love the Daily Show, and Jon Stewart is my hero, so this is the best news ever!

I can only imagine what Stephen Colbert will do with this next week on his show. It should be fodder for some very funny bits.

Congrats to Jon! He deserved the Emmy! Also, congrats to Thirty Rock! Woo Hoo!!!!

I'm guessing Stephen Colbert will have a hey-day with this whole thing.

  2. He should also win an award for best investigative journalism for all his work in exposing the radical right! Puts the MSM to shame!!!! I knew you'd be jumping for joy over Jon's awards. I was too! He's so awesome!!

I really love Jon Stewart. He is really doing the job of mainstream journalists today, and I'm happy for his win. But I'm a little sad it wasn't Colbert's turn this year. He took his show to freakin' Iraq this year, people! He had his head shaved by a general under the specific orders of our President (and good sport!) Barack Obama. He is really doing the same thing Stewart is doing: exposing the hypocrisy in politics and journalism and everywhere else, but just with a different twist. So too bad for Colbert, but yay for Stewart. Long may they run!
