Okay now this thing needs to be shown to every single one of those ignorant yahoos that still believe the government is trying to take over their health care.
I just had a conversation recently with a pretty intelligent pseudo-conservative who had the hardest time accepting that Obama was not trying to screw everybody out of the health care that they are currently using. When I finally got through to them they said. "Oh then why is everybody so upset?'

My insurance just went up by one-third. What good is knowing that under the proposed reform my insurance company would not be able to drop me when/if I get sick, if I can't afford the premiums in the first place? The next person who spouts off to me about socialized medicine, etc., better have good health insurance because s/he for sure is going to be in need of a doctor.

Have you all not seen the movie "Idiocracy"? Well, in case you haven't, there's a running gag to do with the most popular film of the day called "ASS". Now this movie is nothing more than a male backside from lower back to mid thigh, focusing on the ass, while said ass did nothing but occassionally twich and fart, repeatedly;nothing more.
That is about the level that these "yahoos", of which you speak, are capable. We are about two decades behind in educational proficiency.

What we have NOW is NOT socialized medicine, but medicare and medicaid IS. Which is fine with me.
Rather than toss out Republican talking points, why don't you make an effort to see what the bill says? Many many people want competition, the insurance companies should not refuse to cover pre-existing conditions and should not be able to drop an insured when they get ill.
We all agree - well at least the sane people agree.

ReplyDeleteToday I went to the hairdresser. I will confess that I go to an expensive hairdresser in a major US city in a tony part of town.
Anyway, this hairdresser is liberal, but many clients there are not. The hairdresser informed me that it has been overwhelming to hear how many REPUBLICANS out of the blue have commented how turned off they are by the current GOP, and how much they support Pres. Obama. Many of them have voted the Republican ticket throughout their lives but now, they look at the GOP and refuse to be a part of it any more.
The GOP is NOT going to take more seats in 2010. Won't happen. They have gone off the deep end. Until the adults step up again in their party, the dumb crazies are ruining it. Thinking Republicans cannot support this inanity. Someone needs to get it under control; the pirates took the ship.
