Where in the world is Sarah Palin?
How about sunny southern California? Residents of a San Diego apartment complex saw her several times over the better part of August -- sitting poolside and tapping away on a laptop, her husband and at least a few of her kids nearby. Why there? Her reps wouldn't get back to us for comment but public records indicate her ghostwriter -- Lynn Vincent, a writer for the Christian magazine World, hired by HarperCollins for the book deal -- lives in the neighborhood. (Vincent also declined comment.)
A resident tells us that Palin, generally in T-shirts, sunglasses and visors, went mostly unrecognized by the neighbors -- until one family found themselves chatting in the pool with a little girl named Piper who told them her younger brother was named Trig.
The name of this site is called "Reliable Sources", so I guess we should all just accept that this factual information. And indeed it may be.
Since these sightings seem to have been at the end of August there is no conflicting evidence to suggest they may be incorrect. So as far as I can determine there is no clear reason to file this report under the heading of "bullshit".
Which means that this is our best lead thus far as to where Sarah Palin has been hiding out since she quit her day job and started chasing those big bucks that Levi keeps saying she was pining over.
However if Sarah really was "tapping away on a laptop", I would be more inclined to believe she was checking her e-mail (or looking to see what those pesky Alaska Bloggers were saying abut her) rather than that she was actually writing her own book.
I am just saying.
I was in Southern California last week, the same week that Sarah was supposed to be in San Diego. I was a few miles north of San Diego, and because the temperature was over 100 every day, and there were forest fires blazing in nearby Los Angeles, I watched the news every day. I also read all the local papers to stay in touch with these two important stories.
ReplyDeleteIf Sarah Palin was in San Diego, she was the best kept secret that week. Some one would have snapped her picture, there would have been a tidbit in a local column, believe me, they cover the most incredible trivia.
If this story is based on what one little girl said, I can tell you that my brother and I had make believe friends named "Bill and Yebby." We could be very believable. (My brother made up the names).
All that being said, Sarah could have been in San Diego. And, the story could be a plant by the Murdoch people to give some credibility to that book they are bankrolling.
I'll say one more thing for that part of California- red red red state (I don't mean Communist). That part of California is so conservative they would be proud and honored if Sarah was in their presence.
San Diego used to have Air America but it is a sports talk station now. We had dinner with some friends who think that Bush should have run for a third term, he was that great. I used Stephen Colbert's joke, "Bush, best president or best president ever?" They didn't know that it was a joke; they answered "Best president ever." Sarah fits right in, and there would have been headlines about her being there.
Color me cynnical but I'm thinking this could be a plant to cover up where she really is (rehab...surgery...Fox University?).

I do not believe it. Who owns the Washington Post Gryphen. Follow the money. And I thought people from Wasilla said Piper has been in school. And Todd was with her this whole time. Yeah right. And not a peep from her about Levi's story or other issues? I guess she could have been with Lynn Vincent part of the time. Now we know who was writing at Facebook. Stlill it sounds like a load of crap to me.

One of the images of Sarah that I just don't forget is Sarah pecking away at two blackberries at the same time. Every time a critical remark was made, a Letterman joke, (and he's still joking about Sarah), anything, Sarah blasted back using her twitter, her face book, her representatives. Now Levi has come out with enough gossip to set her blackberries on fire. What ever happened to her promise of flying fingers send out politically incorrect messages?
ReplyDeleteWho does have an interest in putting Sarah in California? Murdoch has invested heavily in her and she has to be seen writing her book. (I thought that was 75% written last week; it should be done by now). Sarah should be preparing for her International Debut as a speaker in Hong Kong. Piper should be in school, and Piper shoudn't learn not to talk to strangers.
After reading what Levi had to say, anything that has to do with Sarah is a fake. That was a sham family, and it is a sham marriage. She really wasn't a mayor (had to hire a manager). She didn't finish her term as governor. According to Levi, (and a great gun profile at Palingates) Sarah doesn't hunt either. We know from watching those interviews with Greta and Matt that she can't cook. Everything about Sarah is a fake. So, this report (reliable source that it may be) may be another Sarah Fakeout. Shame on me for falling for it again.
I'm with anon 6:34, it's a tie between rehab and the new, improved, younger Sarah. Maybe both. Can you do them at the same time? Oh yeah, she can multi-task.

ReplyDeleteThe more I think about this "sighting," the more I am inclined to disbelieve it. It seems like it was "leaked" by Meg or another Palinbot thinking they are clever. They cover several bases to make Scarah look "good," all in a few sentences:

Somehow if it's a story about Sarah, it's hard to believe. I remember last year when after investigating Troopergate, Sarah was found to have abused her office as governor. Sarah announced that she was exonorated. Either she doesn't know what the word means, or she has no acquaintance with the truth. Sorry, there was one story about Sarah that did turn out to be true. She announced that she was quitting, and she quit.

People who are using her Face Book page have a frightening agenda; remember how well that Death Panel changed the tone of the Health Care Panels? (Japan is not that far away). Then, when we look up at the evening sky and wish upon a star, we can actually see Sarah, too.

Last month two different people on Twitter reported seeing Todd, Sarah and the 2 youngest kids at the San Diego airport. I called BS at the time because I didn't see any news reports of it. Now I see that the ghost writer lives in San Diego. I used to live in Temecula. There are some pretty swank vacation condo rentals in San Diego. It could make sense.

I don't believe it. It's starting to look really strange that SP hasn't been heard from for all this time, especially after the Vanity Fair article. She's had so little self control about responding to every little thing that it's just too hard to believe she's just been in some APARTMENT having to share a pool with everybody else in the complex.

And all of it is just perfect for trying to restore her image: she's working on her book, modest accommodations (even a nicer condo I don't think would meet her standards now that she is Queen of the Sea of Pee), happy family there with Todd, yeah right. And conveniently the story only comes out AFTER she and Tahd and Piper have cleared out. And no photos either, imagine that!
But, just the fact that they are saying anything about her whereabouts MIGHT signal that soon she will be making her post rehab/surgery/coaching debut.
The fact that there was NO news about her whereabouts up until now has made me think that whatever has been going on has had an uncertain date of completion, and she's already had such a horrible track record for keeping commitments that her handlers didn't feel confident enough to schedule any future appearances.
This news might signal that soon she will reappear, or it might just be that they felt some kind of response was needed to the Vanity Fair article, but instead of the usual rant, it is a planted story hinting that Palin was busy writing her memoir.
I don't buy the contrived story.....Bristol was seen at the fair with BOTH of her babies and Piper is said to be in school. If someone had actually seen her many times, there would have been photos.
ReplyDeleteHa Ha - It's just after 10 pm here in Wasilla on a lovely fall evening. My niece just called from Knik Bar to tell me that Todd Palin is out there "mackin' on a bunch of chicks." I had to ask what that meant - she said she's 99% sure its him and there's a bunch of young women hanging around him. Then she said she was going to go hit on him just to see what he says - and take a picture!

ReplyDeleteI would keep an eye on the Lake Lucille gate and property to find out what is happening. Is there anyway to learn about the envirnomental impact of the new plans? Recreational vehicles can be some of the worst offenders.
They might add jet skis for Track.
If no one can get a snapshot around Alaska or better confirmation that seems suspect.
If leaks show up in the press, it means to look somewhere else because the idea is to throw people off track and to build up the fake image.

Sarah was probably in San Diego and hidden away from everyone. I know a few writers who when they get intense on writing block out the TV, radio and newspaper and just write. The reason Sarah may not have responded to Levi's article is because all of the news has been kept from her until she finished the project. Such a distraction would have caused her to respond and get involved and off writing. The trip to NY may have been when the publisher told her to get to work on the book. My guess is that she has a little ADDH and can't stay at the same project for too long.
ReplyDeleteI am sure this ghost writer is wanting Sarah's part of the material and probably tired of dealing with the diva. Remember the ghost writer is a professional and has a deadline imposed by the publisher. Deadlines to Sarah are probably not that important.
The idea that Piper was with her makes sense. Bristol got her trip to NY, Willow got her trip to NY and this would have been Piper's trip to NY/San Diego.

ReplyDeleteThat is what I don't understand about the Wasilla/Palmer area. Not everyone can be a Sarah clone and rich and want to protect her lies. Not everyone in the area wants to enable world domination people that will destroy their lives. The people of W/P must know that pictures can bring in some cash. Why is there not one picture of Bristol with both of her babies?
Did your niece get the Todd picture?
Many teens have camera cell phones now. There are small digital cameras with good quality video and still. The area is beautiful and I would think there are locals with cameras and skills. No one can get any pictures of a member of their missing famous celebrity family?
How long does it take to train kids in photojournalism? That can be done with homeschooling. They do need to follow rules. You also learn to journal information about time and place. Who else was there. What people were wearing. Interesting side notes.
No one knows that they can make money by selling pictures of celebrity? It is part of what Sarah left in the W/P area. If a kid was interested in becoming a photographer then to have a picture published won't hurt. When they want to go on to do nature photography they could have a few contacts.
Why are there no photos of the alleged W/P area sightings? Why don't people use their cell phone cameras?
Agree lucky lane...the only consilation is that lies don't make a great life. In our most true moments, we know what matters most in this life. Love, the people close to us, our acts of goodness and kindness, etc. Murdoch can sell the Palin Myth all he wants. She's still a mistrustful person, close to no one, and a very, very bad mother with a husband whom she can't trust (apparently, he's cheated on her and went to the bank to cash out behind her back). What a sad life. Too bad she wants to rule over us with her hate and stupidity, because that means we can't let our compassion get in the way of the danger she represents to this country.
ReplyDeleteI am thinking there may be some truth to this rumor except that Sarah must be there alone. Think about it. School has started in AK, and to escape even more negative reaction, she must have let the kids start school. Two, who would want their kids around them when recovering from plastic surgery? Three, this is where her ghostwriter lives. And four, this is where all the best plastic surgeons are! And she has not been seen for about six weeks, right? That's how long you need for a decent recovery.

I van understand, of course, why Palin being poolside in San Diego for a month would be devastating for many of you: that would mean she is not in rehab, recovering from plastic surgery, or any of the other assinine conspiratorial theories you've come up with.
God help humanity if she has realized that if you're a public figure of almost pathological interest to the public, the best and safest way to
keep your name in the press is to go to the mattresses.

No public appearances that could go bad.
No chance of being quoted or mis-stated.
She lobbed a grenade into Obama's healthcare juggernaut, it achieved its intended purpose and now she's been as easy to find as Howard Hughes and as chatty as a sphinx.
On some level, she believes P.T. Barnum: "There is no such thing as bad publicity."
Why should she utter a syllable when Levi Johnston is so successfully doing what she couldn't: have op-eds written about her in a handful of
major American publications (The Atlanta Journal Constituion, The New
York Times, and U.S. News and World Report)?
Let me tell you how this going to play out. After Levi Johnson is yesterday's news and has been thoroughly discredited Palin (after the China trip) will respond to all the nonesense with something like this:
"I'll keep it short. Levi is a good kid who has been through a tough time. His mother has been very sick and suddenly he finds people
willing to throw money at him to tell his story. I don't think he was
prepared for that. I know he had no way of knowing how careful you
have to be when you chose people to manage your public image."
"What can you say about his unflattering portrayal of you?"
You'll have to ask him about that. He's still the father of my grandson and we're prepared to help the Johnston family any way we can."

Bristol's friends all go to the fair. I can't see her there alone with the stroller. Why is no one saying she was with so and so, a boyfriend, girlfriends? No one is saying she was making her way through the crowds, looking at cabbage or whatever they saw. I know there are smart people who would observe and articulate in that borough. Don't they go to the Fair?
It is plausible Bristol would be at the fair with the Irish Twins. I need a little more to make it certain. It makes no sense that everyone in Wasilla and at a State Fair is so lacksidasical.

She could do something like you say with the Johnstons. If she sincerely wants to help him with finding handlers for his image she can introduce him to her newest China team. She likes what they are doing for her.
If the plant in WaPo was true that puts Todd and a few of her children in San Diego. She and Todd wouldn't leave Piper and Trig behind? The weather is hell. That scene falls a part in so many ways. It is meant for only the gullible.
She must decide whether she wants to be a heavyweight public servant or a rock star. Republicans have a responsibility to decide not only if she can win, but also whether she has the gravitas to do the job.

ReplyDeleteThe only thing GOOD I have to concede about Sarah Palin is that she is a physically BEAUTIFUL woman and I personally don't see a flaw to improve. (maybe they could disable that SMIRK from her face). One could speculate on many possibilities, but I don't think surgery's one of them.

Palin is nice looking. The thinking surgery comes from the things like what looked like thinning hair and a wig line in a photo. Work on her teeth and other changes.

She could be doing a peel or botox. More tattoos or other less invasive procedures.
Younger more beautiful women are addicted to the knife because of problems with body image.

Believe me, we'd rather have YOU as Palin than the diva herself. Your words in her mouth are much more reasonable.

ReplyDeleteWhen public figures hit a rough spell they go into hiding. Now, Palin has three reasons to do this: her last political statement set off a firestorm. She only needed light the match; others created the brushfire.
Second, she is writing a book and third she is going to China which presents a great opportunity for her/
Finally, she needn't run the risk of trying to soften the left's opinion of her. Levy Johnston has done that for her. Three hard-core journalists for the left--one from the Atlanta Constitution Journal, one from the New York Times (Gail Collins), another from the Washington Post (Ruth Marcus) have considered Johnston "Smarmy" and in the Telegraph U.K.,
he was accused of plumbing new depths of "scumbuggery".
Now, a third journalist with considerable clout, Robert Schlesinger, who has been a card carrying critic of Palin who has written for the Huffington Post, has written in the U.S. News and World Report.
"The Media Loves Sarah Palin, Thanks to Levi Johnston and Vanity Fair"
Lest you think Schlesinger actually likes Palin one of his articles in the
U.S. News was titled, "10,000 Facebook-ers Have More Foreign Policy Experience Than Sarah Palin.".
Do you think Palin could have walked into the offices of the AJC, Washinton Post, Telegraph, and New York Times and walked out with a
deal that each of those papers would have made Johnston seem like
a disgruntled kid who bit the hand that fed him. Not in a million years.
But she didn't have to.
For some reason, it doesn't seem like many people here are willing to concede that Palin has new handlers which makes it a whole new ballgame.
Exhibit A: After John Kerry states he wishes Palin would disappear, Palin responds with, "He looked so sad. Why the long face, John?"
That is a line a professional comes up with.
Exhibit B. Even though everyone knew Letterman's joke just was ill-advised and nobody believed he was referring to Palin's little girl, CBS
advisors him to make a public apology to put out the fire.
Evidence C: Just a few weeks ago Palin was the antiChrist of the left
after issuing her "death panels" indictment of the health plan. Today,
big-time major-market op-eds are piling on Levi Johsnton.
If anyone here thinks she is being handled by the same minor leaguers
that called the shots for her in Alaska, they are in for a very unpleasant surprise--and the first salvo will be fired in China where she plays to packed houses and gets boffo reviews.
Please note that Shlesinger is hardly a fan of Sarah Palin.
3:13: Take that up with Gryphen. If he wants to pull a comment that's choice. It wouldn't speak well, however, for someone who has dedicated himself to finding the truth.

Palin is who she is... and that won't change much. Yes, she may have a second act as a TV personality. Clearly she can still get the emotionally unbalanced right wing folks excited. I sure hope she doesn't incite more violence- she is good at that.
So you see, wolf lady- we are happy to engage with you in respectful repartee-- and you are obviously willing to do the same. I don't think you'd find that on the Palinland blogs. Smiles!
I think it is about time for Murdock to be made a fool and Sarah is the one to do it. She ruins everyone's life she comes into contact with. She may not ruin his life but she will definately take him down a notch.
