Accepting the award, Fey acknowledged the politico she so deftly lampooned saying, "Mrs. Palin is an inspiration to working mothers everywhere because she bailed on her job right before Fourth of July weekend. You are living my dream. Thank you, Mrs. Palin."
Tina Fey absolutely deserved to win this award, and she also deserves the gratitude of the American people for helping to illustrate just how ridiculous and bizarre Sarah Palin was to the voters.
Thank you Tina Fey.
By the way in case you have forgotten why Tina Fey deserves to win this Emmy then take a moment to watch pure comedy genius at work.
I could literally watch that all day long.
Here is Geoffrey Dunn's take on this story.
Oh how I needed that!!!
ReplyDeletesitting here recovering from getting an abscessed tooth drained, I really needed a laugh! As Wile E Coyote would say, 'Genius pure unadulterated genius!' the emmy is well deserved.
ReplyDeleteYeah for Tina Fey! I LOVED LOVED LOVED that she refers to her as "Mrs" Palin and not Governor Palin. Sarah QUIT. She walked out after people spent tons of money for her election, for campaigning for. Yep when the going got tough, Palin quit. There is no excuse for that and I do not understand how anyone would want her for public office. Obama is attacked every single darn day - would he walk out? Palin can't handle it - and the truth is very few people really could handle the job of President espeically with the many serious problems facing us right now.
ReplyDeleteWhich woman did more to sink Sarah Palin: Tina Fey or Katy Couric? Or, you can pick Sarah, her own self.
ReplyDeleteOT but is this for real?

ReplyDeleteJust in case you missed it...

Notice a large photo of Quittypants bouncing behind the correspondents head early in the
melee.
Oh brother!
William Shatner also deserves an Emmy for reading Quittypants' Twits.
ReplyDeleteHow he could read that hodgepodge word salad without falling off the stool is a testament to his thespianism.
I'm not able to see the vid, but here is Tina Fey talking to David Letterman about her impersonation of Sarah Palin. :)

Tina Fey is so cute :) she has all the queen quitty pants mannerisms down! But she made the "little shop of horrors" look to cute...
ReplyDeleteI'm glad Tima got this, but palin will just say people are gettin' rich on her name...ah ha...Like her...maybe?
hmmmmm?
Congratulations to Tina Fey for winning an Emmy for one of the best impersonations I have ever seen.
ReplyDeleteShe is so much better looking than Palin. She did a great job imitating her. Great comedy and they didn't have to change much of what she said.
ReplyDeleteHave you really looked at the before nomination pictures of Palin versus the campaign photos? Her makeup artist, hair dresser , and wardrobe should all get Emmy nods for making Palin appear classy and chic.
ReplyDeleteTina Fey, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.
ReplyDeleteI will watch 30 ROCK forever!
