From the bowels of Facebook comes unsolicited Afghanistan war advice from Sarah Palin's OTHER ghostwriter.

For two years as a candidate, Senator Obama called for more resources for the war in Afghanistan and warned about the consequences of failure. As President, he announced a comprehensive new counterinsurgency strategy and handpicked the right general to execute it. Now General McChrystal is asking for additional troops to implement the strategy announced by President Obama in March. Hundreds of thousands of Americans have sons, daughters, fathers, mothers, sisters and brothers in harm's way in Afghanistan right now. We owe it to all those brave Americans serving in uniform to give them the tools they need to complete their mission. (By "tools" does Palin mean the resources and intelligent course of action which would minimize casualties and bring about success? Or does she simply mean more American bodies to throw on the flaming pyre of endless war?)

We can win in Afghanistan by helping the Afghans build a stable representative state able to defend itself. And we must do what it takes to prevail. The stakes are very high. The 9/11 attacks were planned in Afghanistan, (In my opinion the jury is still out on that.)and if we are not successful there, al Qaeda will once again find a safe haven, the Taliban will impose its cruelty on the Afghan people, and Pakistan will be less stable. (I cannot help but wonder how we keep al Qaeda from wanting to kill us by invading their countries and killing their people.)

Our allies and our adversaries are watching to see if we have the staying power to protect our interests in Afghanistan. (This sounds so much like Bush talking I almost wonder if it was written by Matt Latimer or Michael Gerson, both of whom served as George W. Bush's speechwriters. Could one of THEM be Palin's "Ghost-Facebook writer"?)I recently joined a group of Americans in urging President Obama to devote the resources necessary in Afghanistan and pledged to support him if he made the right decision. Now is not the time for cold feet, second thoughts, or indecision -- it is the time to act as commander-in-chief and approve the troops so clearly needed in Afghanistan. - Sarah Palin

Essentially Palin is insisting that our President resist the urge to THINK before he decides what to do about Afghanistan.

No time for "second thoughts" or "indecision"? You mean like Bush never doubting that he was right no matter how many times he screwed things up? Remember how that strategy worked out for us?

Personally I am thrilled to have a President who does not go off half cocked when making decisions of this magnitude that will affect hundreds of thousands of American soldiers and potentially millions of Afghan people. In my book THAT is a good thing.

Can anybody imagine HOW a President Sarah Palin would handle this complicated problem? How many Taco Bell Crunchwrap Supremes would she inhale while arrogantly sending our brave fellow Americans to their deaths? How long would the infamously ADD Sarah Palin spend before reaching HER decision? Or would she simply decide it was too hard and give up halfway through?

Right now President Obama is meeting with his military leaders and politicians on both sides of the aisle in an attempt to understand what is needed for victory, and what that victory will ultimately look like. (I wish I could be there, because I have NO idea what victory in Afghanistan will look like.)

But I do know that we need to get out, and get out soon. The objective in Afghanistan is fuzzy at best, and as more of our brave soldiers die, it is questionable if we are making any real progress.

However I realize that Obama is in between a rock and a hard place, and I am also aware that he was placed there by George W. Bush and the Republicans. The same Republicans, like Sarah Palin, who now feel qualified to judge how the President is doing in solving the problem of THEIR making, and offering him advice that only a fool would be willing to take.

So I have some advice for Sarah Palin and the rest of the Republicans. Please take a heaping teaspoon of STFU, and let our President do his damn job!

  1. WHY can't Palin come out IN PERSON with her words of wisdom? HIDING again, behind ghost writers and Facebook - what a JOKE! Come out Sarah, COME OUT on "Meet the Press" or ANYWHERE!
You CAN'T, because you have NO idea how to speak.
IF Palin had actually written this, it would have said: "This message is for he-who-must-be-obeyed, that one, who pals around with terrorists, who is not like us - do not blink, nope, you betcha, you cannot blink!"
WHY doesn't anyone call her out on this? We are supposed to be SO STUPID that we are expected to take seriously someone who will NOT face the media? Someone who will NOT engage in dialogue, who will NOT answer any questions? WTF?

How .... "cute" ..... Palin actually thinks she's someone whose opinion matters. Tell ya what .... try - just once - to actually FINISH a position (council post, mayor, Governor) and then come back once you have some political cred.

Thanks to Sarah, Alaska is less stable... The clueless wonder has it out for the guy who won... And once again she offers up no solutions... But does seem to want to fire up her freaky fan base.

My husband voted for her and every week, that banging noise I hear coming from the garage, is him, hitting his head against the wall & mumbling "Why??? Why????, why did I vote for the walking diaster!".

ummm...Sarah, you are not the governor. You're not the vice President. You're not the President. You're not ever going to BE the President. Not next time, not ever. So stop all the fanfare and the fake facebook posts and admit it. Try and get a deal with a christian broadcasting network because normal people understand you have an i.q. of 85. And you're hilarious.

I went to Snarah's facebook page and gently reminded her that she lost the election...I remember the look on her face when McCain gave the losers speech...Sarah probably was a little confused, and I think she's still a little confused....

If you're on facebook, gently nudge SP to bring her out of her trauma coma, this would be the humanitarian thing to do.....I also let her know gently that we really don't care what she says....sometimes a little reality therapy is what is needed....

    Please help Sarah....

A big part of the problem is that the war is being run by men trying to re-live the old glory days. You know, when the Emperor ceremoniously signs the surrender papers.

There is no such entity in Afghanistan. There can be no such victory, ever. The US went in to find Osama. Do it and get out. The Russians spent trillions and only made things worse.

The deaths that have happenned have not been in vain. The ones in future?

Notice how Palin attempts to mock and second guess the President. She, who ran up crazy charges buying clothes for herself and her family on the campaign trail, she, who can not even pass the muster in interviews, she who almost destroyed Alaska with her failed policies, she, who QUIT her Govenor job after two years....Who the hell does Palin think she is? Honestly, I don't think it is Palin writing that junk. She is only the puppet. It is those who are behind her writing this propaganda. They want their voices to be heard because they lost the election and they think they can still influence and run this country to benefit the wealthy minority. Palin is only a tool. She sold her soul to the Devil once she got a taste of the finer things in life. Too bad those she influences don't get it. They just don't get it.

thanks for saying the jury is still out because i agree with you with the exception that the court is kangaroo, the charges unproven, as the evidence is yet to be presented (don't believe me, check the fbi website).

futhermore, ghostwriter says, "Our allies and our adversaries are watching to see if we have the staying power to protect our interests in Afghanistan." Yeah, exactly what ''interests'' do we have? Aren't those someone else's interests we're usurping?

I guess it's my increasing age that is making me remember a slogan from the Viet Nam war, especially now that military service is voluntary: What if they gave a war and nobody came? As for victory in Afghanistan (whatever that means), all I can see in the future is what I saw in the past: the last helicopter leaving Vietnam (I think it was from the roof of the American Embassy) and desperate people trying to hold onto it. We never learn.

Elections don't mean anything. Legitimate or not. If the radicals don't agree with the results, they will arm themselves and rebel.

Insurgency warfare is generally unorganized and of many different factions, most of which are NOT outlawed.

Some are well funded, most are not. The ones that are not, are the scary ones because they often have an intelligent but radical leader that takes advantage of those of inferior wit to do their dirty work. They operate under the RADAR and there seems to be an endless supply, so they are almost impossible to eradicate.

    I'm NOT talking about Afghanistan.

I mean, why should we let the fact that Afghanistan defeated Alexander the Great, Genghis Khan, and the British Empire--not to mention the fact that it more recently caused the complete collapse of the Soviet Union (no, it wasn't Reagan, it was Osama bin Laden)--stop us?

She is can only mean to protect our interests in Afghanistan is to protect the current system for the cash crop, poppies.
When the Taliban was in charge they were more successful eradicating the heroin trade. Notice how little the world's greatest opium sales and trafficking is mentioned. That is because it is so very important to what is going on in Afghanistan. The best kept secrets are where the real story is. Drug dealers around the world love the American army being there. It's as crazy as the drug problem in Alaska. Not even a Palin ghost writer will ever tell.

    She really needs an intervention.

Then again, I think the games are just beginning-- and this is the GOOD part, where she gets dismantled publicly by the MSM piece by piece. And it will be brutal, like all long awaited and smothered truths are.

She has no idea how she's setting herself up for abject, utter humiliation on an international level.

Sarah must be renting her Face Book space, and there are most likely several writers.

When people discussed Sarah as a possible presidental candidate in 2012 (Chris Matthews Show), someone joked that she couldn't handle 2 months- she certainly could not handle 18 months with serious competition. She managed to hide from the press for 2 months, but it would never work over a longer period of time.

So, back to the Face Book. Unless Sarah can appear in person and actually discuss what has been written under her name, she did not write it. And, no, I don't mean spoon fed, soft ball questions on Fox. I mean the give and take in Meet the Press for example. If she cannot discuss those Face Book pages in person, she did not write them. Let's not give her credit for any political line of thought. For Sarah, it is just a form of publicity, and her wishes come true. People write about the Face Book posts as if she wrote them.

Who is writing them for Sarah? Republicans? Murdoch? People in a Conservative Religious movement?

I hope you and your covey of followers are getting the game plan Gryphen. If not then here's an explanation: If Obama doesn't make a decision immediately and make the decision to send more troops, then every death of the dear troops will be caused because of Obama's inaction. He will therefore be a 'troop killer' and a 'traitor' and a 'commie' and all the other evil things that merica doesn't stand for. And of course he wants to kill troops because he's a godless leftist commie who hates america.

    Get it now?

  23. I am so sick of the coward who hides behind others curtains. She will never be able to "come out" again. NEVER. Fox doesn't count b/c it is a set up. Let her shake in her boots over the media. She can't face the truth and she will be exposed as the lazy fool she is.

She is a quitter, not close to being a former governor. She couldn't go the whole 9 yards, it's called failure. Asshat, Burke brought up a Senate race. They know her PAC can't be taken serious for President. In a corrupt state the puppetmasters might be able to lie her into a Senate seat. Poor Alaska. They need to get serious about getting any of her people out of office. They need to find a way to file complaints and sue in Alaskan courts. She needs to be sanctioned, impeached or something she has coming that will let the public know there is justice.

It is Bush or Cheney behind the ghostwriter that doesn't write like Sarah Palin.

This greedy sick game of hers is coming to an end. People have reached the end of disgust with her vile. She is just one more "expert" on war because her prop son was somewhere. I can't wait to hear about their dinner with the Alabama war profiteer. Sheeesh... the fruitcakes that have been unleashed on us.

War profiteers need war to keep making money. That is the only reason we are there or will stay. Generals and reports were trying to tell GWB what we needed in Afghanistan. What did he do? He ignored Afghanistan and sent more into Iraq. Now these lying dopes are pretending this is the first time anyone said we need more troops in Afghanistan. The Republicans have never cared about the people or country of Afghanistan. No body spends much time looking for bin Laden. He was never all over Afghanistan. It is a small area, Afghanistan/Pakistan where that is the focus. It is opium that is important. You want cash for guns? Illegal hash and opium is the way to help support your wars. Make the US econmy dependent on war and how do you stop the killing? People are not caring about our dead and wounded like they did in Vietnam.

Afghanistan is a great place to have a war to support the war machine and make the profiteers rich. That is why Palin allows herself to be used. She lives off the misfortune of others and at the mercy of the insurance industry and warmongers.

Well, it should be no surprise SP's handlers are typing a blog about the war in Afghanistan. After all, she's an oil gal, a real energy expert. It's all about the oil, you know. And Bush was going to go after OBL before 9/11. Just needed a reason for the American people to support a war, I bet.

    Excerpt from 1998 Congressional Record:

"STATEMENT OF JOHN J. MARESCA, VICE
PRESIDENT OF INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS, UNOCAL CORPORATION ...

"The only other possible route is across Afghanistan, which has of course its own unique challenges. The country has been involved in bitter warfare for almost two decades, and is still divided by civil war. From the outset, we have made it clear that construction of the pipeline we have proposed across Afghanistan could not begin until a recognized government is in place that has the confidence of governments, lenders, and our company."

    http://whatreallyhappened.com/WRHARTICLES/oil.html

    Pre-planned before 9/11---

"BBC - American government told other governments about Afghan invasion IN JULY 2001.

    US 'planned attack on Taleban'

The wider objective was to oust the Taleban

    By the BBC's George Arney

    ...

"The wider objective, according to Mr Naik, would be to topple the Taleban regime and install a transitional government of moderate Afghans in its place - possibly under the leadership of the former Afghan King Zahir Shah. Mr Naik was told that Washington would launch its operation from bases in Tajikistan, where American advisers were already in place."

    http://whatreallyhappened.com/WRHARTICLES/preplanned.html

That is why the GOP wanted to win the last election and SP attacked BO so ruthlessly. Fundamentalists like MBachmann believe women should be subservient, so it certainly wasn't about democracy or freedom.

Palin reads like an encylopedia of corruption and she is suspected of bribery, extortion, cronyism, nepotism, patronage, graft, and embezzlement. That is why she is still in the news. She is no longer thought of as the brand they tried to sell. Her audience is tiny and fringe. What you see are the smoke and mirrors they work to put out. Old what's her name is just not there. The brand is boring but the criminal possibilities will keep the interest going from time to time. Like a missing D.B. Cooper character.

How many soldiers do we need to do what? What are the odds for a "victory" and exactly what do they mean? What is the amount of time the authorities can determine this "victory" will take? Timeline?

We are supporting the military industrial complex that Eisenhower warned us about. They work for the corporations and need labor. How many trillions? It is controlled by a small oligarchy, they are the ones to benefit and not the people. In one way or another most of the people will be subservient to the few.

Thousands and thousands of years has developed the black market economy in Afghanistan, which is largely controlled by the TB it would seem.

THe American troops are accepted in the urban locations, but the rural country is still very old school were the black market is the cash market. There are no 7-11's, Wall Marts, or American Football programs were we teach are youth at a early age to take players out with a hard hit!, throw bomb's, blitz, sneak play's, attack first, and hit the line hard.

THe Afgan's are tuff with out a uniform or having national pride to fight for. They have been fighting for survival and for thousands of years. This is not a game or job that pays the bills, free cigarettes, has perks like health care, and travel out of a dysfunctional American lifestyles.

There is no wining this war. There is creating health and education. We seem to be struggling with those fronts in are own country. Creating a steady state peace and health is all the planet can hope for as we move from the carbon economy.

THe global drug market buys from the TB, and US drug companies don't like cheap natural drugs flowing freely that is out of the control of US concerns. This is turning into a war on drugs, the US is going to end up building prisons in Afghanistan and having American companies manage them. There are many rural famers that need to be locked up for growing such a high value cash crop. Shame of them for wanting to be capitalist.

I can't believe that Christmas decoration and lights are starting to come out in Homer. Lets get the buying season started early, and tune into watching American Football and rooting for are local teams to kill all the other teams! The Taliban is hardly the only one involved in drugs in Afghanistan. Before we arrived it was a crude operation that transported the product prior to going into a more refined form. They now have factories to process the heroin for better transporting. It is a prosperous business and many countries are involved. The Taliban didn't build the production factories.
You are naive if you think it is only the Taliban making money off of drugs. Only America is without sin when it comes to being in the drug business, of course. The same things and more are going on as happened in Iran-Contra days. That includes drugs coming back in the coffins of deceased soldiers. None of the gruesome parts of war have changed, we just don't talk about it. Do you see or hear much about the soldiers who return with drug addiction? Silence.

Was Gen. McChrystal behind the coverup of Pat Tillman's 'friendly fire' death?
    http://crooksandliars.com/john-amato/gen-mcchrystal-was-behind-pat-tillman-c
"We've posted a ton of information about the Pat Tillman saga on C&L as heartbreaking as it is and I wanted to remind everyone that the man who is going public with his views on how to handle Afghanistan was deeply involved with torture and Pat Tillman's cover up."

New Jon Krakauer Book on Pat Tillman Death -- and Media Manipulation -- Coming This Week
    http://www.editorandpublisher.com/eandp/news/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1004011565
"Where Men Win Glory: The Odyssey of Pat Tillman," pulses with indignation at the generals, politicians and soldiers he holds responsible for the death of Tillman, the NFL star-turned-Army Ranger killed by friendly fire in Afghanistan in 2004.

But the sharpest rebukes are aimed at those Krakauer accuses of covering up the truth of Tillman's death, fabricating a more heroic story and then using it to distract the media and the public from bad news coming out of Iraq.

The book chronicles Tillman's short but remarkable life, interwoven with threads of American politics and global geopolitics, Afghan history and geography, even philosophy and Greek epic poetry.

Krakauer said a longtime fascination with Afghanistan and the news of Tillman's death attracted him to the story. Some of it is well known: Tillman's standout career with the Arizona Cardinals and his decision to leave the NFL to join the Rangers after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

But much of Krakauer's account is new, or at least not widely known.

After retracing Tillman's training and his deployments to Iraq in 2003 and Afghanistan 2004, Krakauer lays out a step-by-step accounting of Tillman's movements on April 22, 2004, the day he was killed.

    C-SPAN | BookTV | Video
    http://www.c-spanarchives.org/program/288974-1
He focused on the cover-up of the circumstances of his death and the propaganda uses that were made of Mr. Tillman.

Like any advice from Palin is going to mean anything to anybody.

"Our allies and our adversaries are watching to see if we have the 'Staying Power' to protect our interests in Afghanistan." Like she knows what "Staying Power" is. Where was her "Staying Power" when she threw Alaska under a bus, took the money and ran?

"Now is not the time for cold feet, second thoughts, or indecision -- it is the time to act as commander-in-chief and approve the troops so clearly needed in Afghanistan."

What does Palin know about how a commander-in-chief should act, when, she, herself, got cold feet, took the money and ran.

I don't think that it's even possible to define 'Victory' in Afghanistan. The people there have never had a stable country, they have always been at war with some country. They have been trained and fought against both the USA and Russia. They have every skill known to man when it comes to war.
Remember, the good old USA is the country that trained Osama Bin Laden and his cronies. Then Russia did the same. We are fighting our own known tried and true war tactics. And you are right. The attacks on 9/11 could have been planned in an apartment anywhere in the world! Training grounds? We have our own home grown militias who train anywhere in this country at any given moment. They do not need an entire country to train. Actually, there all pretty well trained by now anyway, especially after 8 years at war with the USA. Bush did everything wrong possible. We never should have been at war in either country. The CIA and FBI and Interpol could have and probably would have taken out most Al Qaeda.
You are right again, Gryphen. It's amazing how much we think alike. Palin should just STFU. She's done enough damage for at least one life time.

  48. Sarah Q is not a rightie...nor is Sarah Q a she. Sarah Q is a he, who happens to be Canadian.

I am not trying to defend the posts, but Sarah Q is on your side. He really is. Its just hard to tell sometimes, because he posts in an angry way...expecting...sometimes, that folks can read his mind. He is like one of those teachers we all had, that was a hard ass. Prodding and poking, hoping we will "get it".

Sarah Q....stop being so damn angry please. These are all good people here, and believe me...they are not dumb. Why do you have to poke them them eye?

It is a misconception that Sarah is saying anything.

Look, certainly at this point, she is nothing more than a ventriloquist's dummy. It's the sinister owner of the hand up her back that needs to be clearly identified, exposed and discredited. And it's his/her/their stage act that needs to be cancelled.

That once done, Sarah will be folded up and stowed away in their traveling trunk with the rest of their mindless and obsolete dummies.

SJK....I totally agree! She needs to STFU!
The media needs to totally ignore any Facebook comments by her and her cronies! Nothing credible, and just a bunch of garbage. I can't believe they are actually printing this shyte.

The Sarah thingy could be more believable if they wrote about "quitter power" for her.

You had to read the foreign media and others to know we were lied to about Afghanistan.
There was no media here that allowed to report much of the real facts. All the Bush spin supported money going to fight in Iraq. In reality, Afghanistan became worse and needed money. There were generals and defense reports that stressed the critical needs. Even today we are told a watered down version. There is the Pakistan part of this that you don't hear enough about. That is the region where the bad guys that we wanted were.

If we intend to do what they call win then the number of troops needed is in the 6 digits. Several hundred thousand more troops. To do what we are doing, sending troops in the 5 didits is like sending some to a forever slaughter. Get serious and reinstate the draft, it will be necessary. Not everyone will have to go, just those without status.

People, wake up and learn about Afghanistan. The history and the last 8 years. The greatest opium fortunes are part of this saga. You can't keep ignoring that and know a thing about what we are doing there.

What monies we spend on war in Afghanistan now, you can quadruple it every year for the next 50 and we might think we won something in 2059. We can give up things like schools, health care, social security and infrastructure and stay and fight. There is no guarantee we can win.

Whatever Sarah Q is about, they are just passing along the plans of those who would like to destroy this country. How better can the extremists get into power?

Palin is the ventriloquist's dummy. Look to who she associates with and who is behind them. When she is gone they will find someone to replace her. Meantime, the media is not going to ignore her because that is one of the ways the power behind her works.

    Gryphen **Thank YOU!**
I am also aware that he was placed there by George W.
